Cool this will be cool. So I just watched the cupple episodes on this car. It started out in hot rod garage where they restored this cars frame and drive train. The body was trash and that's where roadkill got involved. They put a solid body on this car and went racing! And they named it the 56 chevy Feild car. This cars got a lot of patina on it. And I would really only say surface rust, also a lot of different coats of paint. This car would really test your patina skills. I also like how this car has skinny cregars on bias plys. Here's my favorite shot of the car.

Yeah me to, Sorta. I always used to wire my engines with sewing string, then I realized that actual wire is much better. Never have gotten to do that yet though. I will experiment with that on my next build.

Looks spot on man. How did you make the grooves in the tires. -
I like the 3 carbs. Everyone knows multiple carbs screams hot rod!

Yeah tell me about it.

I love flip front drag cars. This will be entertaining. Looks good.

Good story telling. This will be cool. I actually like the front of the 64 better and the back of the 63 better, so this will be nice.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

Hey, I had the same idea for a model. This looks great. I was inspired by this car I s saw at the goodguys heartland nationals. Still haven't actually started on it though (you know how it goes). -
Probably the guy who designed the car had preferences on what he thinks it should look like.

You gonna do blinkers?? This looks awesome.

This is cool. I've seen this done once but not as much attention to detail with the body lines. Looking forward for more updates ?.

Makes sense when I went to our local cars and coffee there were a bunch of cobbled up old miatas that looked less than ok. They all had poorly installed wide bodys. The thing is there were only a handful of cool classics cars. I also had to Teach some young guy what a manual fule and water pump were?.

Oh good, I was worried that we were starting to get to off topic ?. Those colors on the interior complement each other very well. I like all the teal’s on this car.

Looks good. And that's how it goes with molotow, the tips are junk. Apperently you can brush paint them and they come out decent.

Aoshima Honda CB750
FoMoCo66 replied to drodg's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
This is cool. I had no idea this kit existed. I got a cb650 running last year and sold it for some pretty good money. Rebuilt the carbs. The 79 had a one year only carb style. The choke cable was broken so I 3d printed some. The material is ultem (look it up) a super resistant material (i didnt print it). It came with a wind jammer installed by the first owner I nick named it the "Dork jammer". I removed it and it looks much better. Before After -
Like the color. Looks like the rustoleum metalic blue even though it's not. That's the color I painted the my top of my sox and martin cuda.
-
Same with 66-70 ford falcons. So it probably means not all FoMoCo cars had there front fillerbpans painted silver.
-
Y blocks are good little engines, better than the earlier flathead, and not as good as the later windsor. Anyway man that color looks so smooth. I like the teal on these generation fords.

Oh and to prove how old this kits tooling is. This was originally produced by SMP way before amt bought them. Here's an ebay link to a perfect condition smp corvette. https://www.ebay.com/itm/145175419815?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=145175419815&targetid=1530439036211&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=1025858&poi=&campaignid=19851828444&mkgroupid=145880009014&rlsatarget=pla-1530439036211&abcId=9307249&merchantid=6296724&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhtWvBhD9ARIsAOP0GojtTskpF37yAoptXo5lQz3GEkcxAoW94ilc2j2ilkoeqR6EHK8UWzYaAilJEALw_wcB -
Remember he has already built this. He is just showing the progress over a couple of weeks.

Hey! I would be interested in a wip for your blasphemi also!
-
Ooo nice, I love this car (besides the mopar power plant). Just so you know there are a LOT of different between the 55 hardtop (the monogram kit) and the post car (the blasphemi). I hope you also get rid of those ugly super wide front tires. Anyway I am looking forward for more updates.
