  1. Yes, the engine is for display only I didn't get the display bases and the decals look bad, but it appears everything else is there. I'm pumped!
  2. I recently scored a neat kit off that auction site, Hawk 1/2 inch scale W163 Mercedes Benz 3 litre 1939 Grand Prix winner. Issued in 1960, the end of the box shows a price of $1.50! There are 2 complete kits in the box which is partly what drew me, I can build a second engine for display. My question, the real rubber tires are pretty hard but have not split. Is there anything I can or should use to put some flexibility back into them or just leave them alone? The kit has those funky clear 2 piece wheels with engraved spokes that are difficult to make look good. I'm thinking of finding some 3D printed wires that will look better. Thanks in advance
  3. Beautiful! I wish Tamiya would reissue this one so I could afford to build it.
  4. Great job on both! I have a clear version of a Ferrari somewhere in the pile, this inspires me to dig it out!
  5. Looks great! Envy you finishing so quick.
  6. I've been fiddling off and on for years with an Ecto-1, Monogram '59 and a roof from one of the '60 Chevy drag cars.
  7. I'll be following. Interesting car I've never heard of.
  8. Came today to the Green Mountains. Can't wait to break it open!
  9. Not an easy kit to get together, you did well!
  10. I wish Revell would tool up a body for their excellent '71 Mustang kit. This was no great shakes, 302 2-bbl with 3 on the floor, but the girls loved it!
  11. My first, '66 Corvair, $400. Dad wouldn't let me park it in the driveway because it leaked oil from the pushrod tubes on the horizontal 6. Sold to my grand uncle when I went into the USAF and he totaled it some months later
  12. Wow! Fitting tribute for sure.

    Wasn't expecting that! Very cool.
  14. Can't go wrong with an Impala / Caprice! Nice work.
  15. I didn't know this existed until now. A true racing icon. Can't wait to follow your journey!
  16. Really nice! I always liked the colonnade bodied intermediates, you did a great job on this one.
  17. I like it! Always wondered what it would take to make the lowrider stock, now I know.
  18. Beautifully done, outstanding weathering! I love the chipping on the prop blades. Thanks for showing this.
  19. Well done! Those are not easy kits for a first effort.
  20. Great job! Gentleman Ned Jarrett doesn't get enough recognition for the part he played in NASCAR history.
  21. Beautiful work on both. Clean paint and decaling. Thanks for posting.
