  1. Lens two tone rim idea does look the goods, but any of the above choices are gonna look great on this one. Looks awesome at this stage, looking forward to seeing the final product. πŸ‘πŸ»
  2. Hey Tom, it’s a nicely detailed kit and l’m enjoying it ( apart from my first attempt at painting the body! ). Hope to see your build on the forum in the future. πŸ‘πŸ»
  3. Great looking little Duster! Nice colour choice, the Mopars always look great in the high impact shades. πŸ‘πŸ»
  4. That’s just awesome. The colours, the SS Cragars. I’d love a 1:1 version just like that. πŸ‘πŸ»
  5. I’m on board for this one Donald. You’ve just got to love a Porsche 911! πŸ‘πŸ»
  6. I’ve been doing a little work on the Olds lately and made some progress. After doing some research on the 71 442 W30, I’ve become a bit of a fan of this muscle car. This new found respect, coupled with my botched attempt at painting it first up, made me determined to do the Olds justice.Body fully polished out and bmf around the window trim. I used a chrome Gundam marker with the beveled tip for the wheel arch trim.My first try at flocking powder for carpet. I’m happy with it for a first attempt. My attempt at detail painting the kit wheels was less than perfect in my opinion, so I’m running with these chrome magnum style. My research has shown that Oldsmobile offered this type of wheel as an option for the 1971 year, so it’s still a factory style build.A bit of an overview of things. Have a pro tech pre wired distributor for the engine as well. Slow progress as l have 4 other builds on the go at the moment. Thanks for looking. Cheers , Stuart.πŸ‘πŸ»

    Callahan!!

Being a Clint Eastwood fan, I'm liking this, now, go ahead, make my day and build it. πŸ‘πŸ»
  8. Hi Michelle, that’s a great looking General Lee. Very tidy build, top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  9. Recently I was looking for something else in a drawer and discovered an old photo of a car I had back in around 1984-85. Looking at it bought back a few memories, enough to make me want to try and replicate it in model form as I knew that Aussie kit maker DDA Collectables had released it in kit form. Inspired by other forum members who have built models of their old cars, l set out to create it.The car. A 74 HQ Holden. I had it sitting pretty low and had a set of Centerline style wheels on it. It was only a 6 cylinder, l had plans for fitting a 350 Chev small block in it but I lost interest and sold it to buy the first of several Toranas I would own, another popular Aussie car.The kit.The wheels.Started cleaning up the body. Used some evergreen strip for the stainless trim that separates the white roof from the body colour. These DDA kits are different from say, Revell or Tamiya, l’m lead to believe they are based on their earlier die cast releases and aren’t as detailed, however, I am happy to have a kit of an Australian car. I’m looking forward to building it, although, I already have the Revell 71 Olds 442, the 56 Chevy Del Ray and the 62 Chevy Impala in various states of build. What was that saying about biting off more than you can chew?πŸ˜„
  10. Sharp looking little rod. Your build makes me want to bump mine up the order of kits in my stash be built. Top job. πŸ‘πŸ»
  11. Beautiful build of a globally recognised classic Merc. I like the story of finding the tiny badge for it on the bedding. You’re right, you don’t get that lucky usually, so it was meant to be. Top job. πŸ‘πŸ»
  12. Nice looking 57. Excellent colour choice. Dressed up engine and running stock steelies completes the sharp looking sleeper image. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  13. G’day Michelle, l was a big fan of the TV Show back in the day. Nice work on your General Lee, it’s a sharp looking build and faithful to the original. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  14. That does look good with the centrelines. Mine was Monterey green with a white roof. Got the SMS paints for it a couple of days ago. This has got me fired up to get some paint on it. Might have to put my current build on hold. Thanks for posting this. πŸ‘πŸ»
  15. I’m in awe of the work that has gone into the smallest of details in this build. I love looking at these heavily customised builds as, for me, they provide inspiration to try something different, even if it’s just a small thing, in my next project. Well done, top notch. πŸ‘πŸ»
  16. This looks great. I’m hoping to get a start on my DDA HQ Kingswood before summer ends, doing a replica of one l owned back in the 80’s, it was lowered, ( a little too much! ) and had centreline style wheels. These pictures of yours gives me a bit of an idea how mine would look. πŸ‘πŸ» Cheers, Stuart.
  17. I love this. Nice colour choices and those seats have a realistic plush leather look to them. Nice work. πŸ‘πŸ»
  18. 1/48 scale? Wow, that’s not much bigger than a hot wheels car. Well done on detail painting a body that small! Would have nearly sent me cross eyed. πŸ˜„
  19. G’day Michelle, tuff Charger! I love those deep dish rims. Nice work. πŸ‘πŸ»
  20. Now that looks stunning. Tuxedo black with red interior is hard to beat. A very tidy build, top notch. πŸ‘πŸ»
  21. This is looking good Bob, I’ll keep an eye on this one. πŸ‘πŸ»
  22. Beautiful work on a replica of a car that means a lot to you. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  23. G’day Greg, can go both ways. The inside slats were usually a factory option. Also during the 70’s a local aftermarket car accessory company marketed plastic louvres for exterior fitment on popular makes of cars at the time, similar to those on 69-70 Boss Mustangs. Cheers, Stuart. πŸ‘πŸ»
  24. Great build on a much loved car here in Australia. I agree regarding the lack of chrome sprue, l’m going to need some practice using Alclad before I build mine. Again, nice job. πŸ‘πŸ»
  25. Awesome. Beautiful finish, scratch building and attention to the little details makes this a stand out. Top notch. πŸ‘πŸ»
