1/48 Hasegawa Warhawk P40E
STU111 replied to STU111's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Gโday Joe, couple of shots here, the instrument panel is the kit decal and the seat harness is Tamiya tape, the kit didnโt have a pilot figure or a harness, so l had to improvise. ๐๐ป -
Iโve always liked this year of the Fury. The 4 door version was sold here in Australia in right hand drive form as the Dodge Phoenix. I like what you have done so far. Iโm following this one. ๐๐ป

Thatโs smooth! I like it. ๐๐ป

Sweet little Vette. The C2 shape always looks great. Agree about the eye watering prices the 1/1 versions command, itโs one of the reasons I like to build, the 1/25 version is a bit more affordable! ๐

Gโday Joe. Itโs SMS paints Monterey Green, it was the colour of the original car l owned back in the 80โs. Iโve got plenty of it left and l was thinking of doing the AMT 72 corvette roadster l have in the stash that colour, because itโs pretty close to Elkhart Green that was offered on Corvettes that year.๐๐ป

Man thatโs awesome! That is one tough Camaro. Did l mention it was tough, And awesome? Lots to like about this one. ๐๐ป -
Gโday Don. The Revell 32 Fords are great kits to build. I did the 32 5 window coupe version recently and it went together nicely and was a joy to build. Iโm with you on this one. ๐๐ป

Iโve got a thing for black cars with red interior trim, especially when the paint is like glass. Iโm in love with this one. ๐๐ป

Beautiful old Chevy. The colours are perfect for it. Top stuff. ๐๐ป

I love these old Datsun/Nissan sports cars. This looks great and captures that 80โs feel nicely. Top stuff. ๐๐ป

Gโday Don, that sucks! I hate it when that happens. Looking at the pics, I canโt see a way out of it without rubbing the bonnet back gently and respraying. I had pretty much the same issue recently with a 67 Impala Iโm building, had to redo it, just couldnโt live with the blemish. Your Chrysler is looking great, so itโs worth biting the bullet and respraying. ๐๐ป

Gโday Michelle, that is one tough XB, and Iโve seen some tough looking XB Hardtop Falcons in my time. That wide body Mustang kit adapted well to the XB body. Nice work. ๐๐ป๐๐ป

Gโday all, bit more progress today. Sprayed the Q bumpers with the SMS Hyperchrome. It was my first time using this stuff and, I must say it has a really nice mellow chrome finish when sprayed over a gloss black base. Got door handles , mirrors and other miscellaneous stuff to paint and this one should be done. ๐๐ป

I just use the soft microfibre cloths you get from Supercheap Auto, works well for me. ๐๐ป

Iโd love to see the look on the rego inspectors face when you put this one over the pit! ๐ seriously though, Iโm enjoying these patina style builds Luke . ๐๐ป

Gโday Brock, I remember back when I was in high school in the 70โs getting the custom car magazines and there was always several cool custom FX -FJ Holdens featured. Iโll be on board for this one. ๐๐ป

That just screams 60โs muscle. Beautiful work. ๐๐ป

Gโday Don, l used to work with a guy who raced an FJ back in the 70โs at the Baskerville and Symmons Plains tracks down here. They were very popular racers as you know, due to their light weight and you could get a fair amount of horsepower out of those old grey engines. Still see the occasional old Holden at the historic race meets.

Gโday Don. You have quite a nice shine on the body straight from the can. Should you polish out? Personal preference mate, if you do, perhaps Tamiyas polishing compounds applied with a soft cloth would be enough to bring out a little more shine.

Neat looking 55 there. Thatโs a great collection of Chevys too. I remember you posting that beat up old Nova on the forum some time ago, was impressed with the realistic patina! . Top stuff. ๐๐ป

Beautiful looking Ford. Man, that BMF looks great. Very sharp. ๐๐ป

Sounds like the little vette put up a fight, but you certainly prevailed to produce a great looking build. ๐๐ป

Gโday David. Great colour choices, the red and white work really well and that interior is very nicely detailed. Excellent job on this classic piece of muscle. ๐๐ป
