  1. G’day all, thanks for all your replies, I’m looking to build the Dart as a standard 340 GTS, and rather than spray the chassis black, I thought It’d be cool to try and replicate a factory style finish on the under body. This info is great! Thanks again. πŸ‘πŸ»
  2. G’day Bruce, I’m an old aircraft modeller, ( before l jumped to cars ). I’m a fan of the P51, so I’m on board with this one. πŸ‘πŸ»
  3. Oh yeah, that is a really sweet looking 32. πŸ‘πŸ» Lots to like about this one.
  4. Unusual little car, but you’ve done a beautiful job with it. Nicely finished and great attention to detail. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  5. That is a really sweet looking Corvette. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  6. G’day Mike, Tamiya TS-8 Italian red over their red oxide surface primer. Then 5 coats of TS-13 starting with very light coats, ( to guard against decals wrinkling ) building up to a final wet coat. Then I left it for a month or so and slowly rubbed it out with 8,000 then 12,000 grit micro mesh. I fluked it, as the bodies I’ve sprayed since just haven’t come out as well despite using much the same technique.
  7. Beautiful T-bird. Excellent attention to detail and all round sweet build. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  8. I’m not big into these Mustangs, but this is a really sharp looking build! Neat as, and excellent paint. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  9. G’day Luke, thanks for the link to this video. I need to learn how to use it as l need it to do the bright work on the Q.
  10. Hi Mike, if I could weigh in here, I believe it is best sprayed over a gloss black base, though Luke will be able to confirm the best process. I have to use it on a project I’ve got at the moment, so I’m keen to find out the best way myself. Cheers, Stuart.
  11. Thanks guys, I understand that underbody finish can be quite variable depending upon the day, assembly line worker etc, but this gives me something to work from. Much appreciated. πŸ‘πŸ»
  12. Got all the sub assemblies together today. All went together well. Wheels were dulled down with semi gloss clear to more accurately represent the originals. As these DDA kits have no chrome sprues, I’ve got to get up to speed with applying the SMS hyper chrome l have for the bumpers, door handles etc. l’m pretty happy with it, even sitting on my bench now, it sort of brings back memories of the mid 80’s. Thanks for checking in. πŸ‘πŸ»
  13. G’day all, I’ve just started the Revell 68 Dart kit and I’m looking to build it factory original. I can’t seem to find any definitive info regarding the underbody finish off the production line. I know that it can vary depending on the assembly line worker, but are there any Mopar fans on the forum who can provide some information about what the usual finish was? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cheers, Stuart.
  14. This is cool Michelle! Just like a hot wheels car. ( l collect those as well as build plastic kits ). I like it. πŸ‘πŸ»
  15. Beautifully turned out work truck. Pipe / ladder rack is a great touch. πŸ‘πŸ»
  16. Clean and not over the top, it really hits the spot. Lot of great details incorporated into that interior. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  17. Drop dead gorgeous! I love the colour and the modern take on the steelies/ dog dish cap combo. Lots to like on this one. πŸ‘πŸ»
  18. I guess my favourite and best paint job to date is my 71 442 Olds. My first attempt at painting it red ended in tears and the Olds going for a dip in the iso propyl alcohol bath. But, l rebounded and produced my best job so far, victory from the jaws of defeat as they say. Cheers, Stuart.
  19. Hi Don. I rarely brush paint anything these days, certainly not large parts. Masking is a pain, and in the past I’ve spent an hour masking up for what amounted to 5 minutes airbrushing time! But, the end result is worth it. The seat on the right looks heaps better. πŸ‘πŸ»
  20. What a cool little Mini! Lots of excellent detail work in that interior. Top stuff. πŸ‘πŸ»
  21. Smoooth! The rear pan and tail light mods suit the Impala perfectly.
  22. Beautifully built and a little different as I’m used to seeing the 442. A standard Cutlass is a nice change . Top notch. πŸ‘πŸ»

I have a love hate relationship with BMF, I love the look of it, but it hates me when l use it!πŸ˜‚ Seriously though, that is a really nice looking 57, love the stance and the wheels. πŸ‘πŸ»
