If you go for it, you shouldn't be disappointed. They're great riding cars,as other's have said. Those seats are basically a sofa. If the go fast bug bites you, they are pretty much bolt in hot rod material in a luxo-barge container. I think that one will clean up real well, and look very presentable with a bit of elbow grease. The exterior looks like typical 80's gm paint. It gets "chalky". I'm sure a few of the other posters here know exactly what I mean.

Just a thought, have you tried looking at Ebay. My plan with these is to try and pull some molds and cast parts, I've got a few "what if chrysler built this" projects dreamed up. I bought this one from a seller there, it was a little pricey, not horrible.

The heads,belts ect came in the 70 superbee prostreet, I've got one in the stash. Not sure if those parts came in any other kits.

I'm very familiar with them, they were everywhere when I was a kid. Stone cold reliable cars, hammer simple to maintain. Most of them had gm's 5 liter (305) engine, decent power and run forever. There's a 2 door version of this body style 77 -78 I think. It has the "aero" style rear window. Very cool car.

Absolutely. An accountant degree is great, but having trade skills to fall back on, way more important. Always have a backup plan. We are always going to need mechanics, carpenters ect. I'm class of 2000, which puts me squarely in the spot of "one trick ponies" that can't do anything without a screen or keyboard. Yet I learned the value of manual, tangible skills and have many options available.

I never ever had that opportunity, youtube university and many many hours reading the machinist handbook got me halfway capable in the "caveman" sense.

Clean bill of health from the doctor this morning, with the typical "we'd like to see you lose 20 pounds ". At least my lungs are 👍

I'm in a similar position, I run them at work regularly. Mostly self taught, I won't dare call myself a machinist. I like to say I know just enough to be "dangerous".

This just got real interesting. Awesome choice making it a "panel".

Those things are tanks. Basically the same as the caprice, which were used as taxi's and police cars back in the day.

Great video, this guy's got skills. Always fun watching a master at their craft. There's quite a few very talented guys on YouTube, check Joe Pieczyinski, extremely talented guy, builds scale lathes, mills ect. Educational as well, useful for guy's like myself.

I looked into this a while back, most leaned towards tamiya rubber black (xf-85) or vallejo tire black (71.315). Nato black is another choice that showed up repeatedly. There's a few real good threads on the topic, and a ton of tricks to make them "pop". Different shade for the tread vs sidewalls, and washes in the treads ect.
