  1. Tough kit to build once, but to build 2. Very nice work.
  2. Very nice clean build. That color works well on that kit.
  3. Nice weathering job, where did you find that giant dog?
  4. Thanks for all the comments. Bruce I put a piece of 1/16 aluminum rod where the bends are to keep from collapsing.
  5. Nice build,great paint.
  6. Ive been a member of this forum for quite a while. Finally got a decent camera. I built Dragula pretty much from what was in the kit. It's painted with Model master and Krylon paints with 2part automotive clear. I used MAS photo etch front wheels/tires, the rear slicks are from Competition Resin. I didnt like the kit's exhaust so I made custom pipes from 3/32 aluminum tubing and polished them. Thanks for looking.
  7. Nice builds for an older kit, really like the burgandy one.
  8. Thanks for the replies, think I'll pop it open and have at it. Looks like a good candidate for a channeled traditional build.
  9. Was given this kit still sealed, is it any good or worth building? I've never seen this kit.
  10. I go there as often as I can. I have the app on my phone- it always has the 40% coupon. Just recently bought the Revell 57 Ford and the Revell 69 Camaro ZL1 both for around $15 each. Today I got a can of Model Master lacquer for $3. The store near me has a good selection of pretty current kits.
  11. I use embossing powder also, it has a more realistic appearance than flocking.
  12. Great pics, love looking back at simpler days.
  13. I like the new Camaro but not for $700,000, don't care what number or how many they made. Those are people with more money than sense. You can buy a nice clean original muscle car for a fraction of that.
  14. I've been building model cars for almost 50 yrs and consider myself to be pretty proficient at building them. If he's a professional builder, then I'm the next Gerald Wingrove.
  15. I've loved cars since I was little, my dad taught me how to build models. I find it relaxing to build and detail car models, plus I can own every car I'd love to have 1:1 at a fraction of the cost.
  16. Thanks Bill, I get the gist of what he was trying to do. But given the quality and detail of your builds, I'll wait to see how you go about it. Keep us posted.
  17. I'd like to see another category for all other types of racing also. I am a big fan of F1, Indycar, Lemans and World Rally Racing.
  18. Nice job Bill. I'm curious about the plunge molding technique for making windshields. Where did you find that thread?
  19. Hey Charlie, that's the worst paint job I've ever seen. Lol Just kidding, outstanding work. For all you out there who have never seen Charlie's work up close he's a phenomenal model builder.
  20. Welcome. And welcome back to the dark side, the Force is much stronger now than you were a kid. There's no turning back. I myself had the Autoworld catalogs and used to wear the pages out looking through them. There are so many models and so much aftermarket stuff out there, you're really going to enjoy coming back to the hobby.
  21. Thanks Jeff, that's the one. I must have had a senior moment, I went to his website twice and didn't see it.
  22. I was browsing aftermarket resin websites and found a 59/60 Buick Pick up body conversion body for the AMT 59 El Camino. I went look for it again and for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it, any help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Wow, beautiful build. A 1000 hrs.? That's dedication to finishing a build.
  24. Nice build Harry. I have the same kit half built, maybe I should pull it out and finish it. I've painted mine a metallic English racing green with a tan interior.
  25. Great job, nice gift. Did one for my dad several years ago of his baby blue 58 Impala for Father's Day. He loved it, couldn't have bought a gift that meant more.
