  1. My brother and I had about 200 matchbox cars and trucks, our grandmother used to buy us 2 ea every week when we went to visit. She paid 25 cents each! They came in the little cardboard boxes. We took really good care of them but unfortunately my mom gave them all away. Years later I found some of the ones I had at a toy show, some of them were selling for upwards of $30 ea. @-@
  2. Wow, sweet build. Love all the custom touches and the color. I just posted one I recently finished, enjoyed build in the kit.
  3. I'll be watching the Impala build. My first car was a 71 Impala, I have never been able to find a kit of it. Closest I have is an original MPC 73 Impala that I built in 73, I plan on redoing it soon.
  4. Another great build. I always check out your posts, you have some of the cleanest builds on the forum. Your paint jobs are excellent.
  5. Picked the BRE Datsun 510, nice kit but the tires are way too small. They are wide enough but too short and they'll look lost in the wheel wells. But they won't go to waste, I have an old MPC Vega kit that needs some wide 13" tires.
  6. Nice build, like to see more pics also. I'm a big Schumacher fan, I have almost all of his cars that have been kitted.
  7. Very cool, looks great. I just picked up another 36 kit with the intention of doing some type of salt racer. Your build is inspirational.
  8. That's an insane amount of money for a car. It's probably one of the most beautiful cars ever built, but someone out there has more money than sense.
  9. Nice job, great color. I like the proportions of the kit, I just don't like the headlights. I've tried to figure out a way to change them when I get around to building my kit. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
  10. I can't even scrape up the money for one of their 1/20 scale kits.
  11. Wow excellent build, great details. Beautiful paint job.
  12. Great job, makes me want to dig out my kit.
  13. Cool build, I have a couple of 36 kits that I'll get around to building. Maybe I should take a vacation to Florida and build one, wait... I live in Florida and I still can't build that fast.
  14. Thanks guys for the compliments. Don I used 1/2" button head aluminum rivets, they have a 3/16" shaft. Then I chuck them in a drill and start with 320,400,600 grit sand papers. Then auto polishing compound then metal polish. Finally cut off the stem and epoxy them to the wheels.
  15. I'd definitely buy your conversion kit, I've always liked the look of the '35. Oh well, now I have to go buy another AMT 36 kit.
  16. Finally finished this build after 3 yrs of work on and off. I was almost done with it and while putting on the last coat of clear it fell of the stand and into some dirt on the floor, and back in the box it went. But because of some encouragement of some friends I finished. I lowered it and added some RatRod white walls with custom baby moons I made from 1/2" aluminum rivets. I painted it in Model Master Viper GTS blue with 2 part automotive clear. I added a real wood bed. I used photo etched parts and braided lines from Protech, the distributor is from Detail Master. A few other details are custom blue dot tail lights, shaved bumpers and an eyeball shifter made from a straight pin. Thanks for looking.
  17. Thanks Ron, nice job on the lathe with those discs. You ought make and sell them. I have some 3/4" aluminum button rivets someone gave me, going try thinning them down and polish them up. I did that with some 1/4" rivets for my 41 Chevy truck, they came out pretty good.
  18. Beautiful job, where did you get those disc wheel covers? Also where did you get those carbs?
  19. Wow! That's one incredible piece of engineering.
  20. Don't care if it's a car, coin or stamp. Anyone who spends those insane prices has more money than sense. Just my opinion.
  21. Nice car, great restoration. But 3.5M, that's nuts. I could go to one of the top builders in the country and have a custom beast built and still have a bunch of money left over.
  22. Nice build, very bright @-@ color. Looks good, like the three tone interior. I built a 62 in blue, I also did the three color interior, lotta taping.
  23. Beautiful job, nice addition to your other 36's. Are you moving on from 57's and building a collection of 36's?
