  1. Very nice job. Go figure ..Germany, I'm still waitng for my LHS here in Florida to get in the one I ordered.
  2. I attended the National event last time it was held in Orlando, all I have to say is the show is a must. I've never seen that much plastic in one place. I'm definitely going.
  3. I'm looking foward to this kit, I have the '58 and '59. If the quality is the same it will be much better than the AMT kit.
  4. Neat,cool idea. Very different.
  5. That's 1/43 scale...Wow! That's a lot of detail, very nice build.
  6. I love F1 and have been a fan since the mid 80's, I actually got to go to Hockenheim when I was stationed in Germany. I love watching the races on the older European tracks, Spa in particular. I like watching the cars go through Eau Rouge and then flat out for 30 plus seconds at 18,000 rpm. The V-10's at over 20,000 rpms was amazing when they raced at that track. The technology of the cars is unreal, that's what draws me in. For those not familiar, think about this... a 2.5 liter normally aspirated V8 screaming at 18,000 rpm's putting out roughly 800 hp in an 1100 lb car... that's pretty intense.
  7. I'll be watching this build also. I've always thought the Matranga Merc and Scrape are some of the best looking leadsleds ever built.
  8. Any Classic Rock, especially the deep cuts on albums people have forgotten about. There are hundreds of songs that have never been on the radio. I'm 54 and still believe "If it's too loud, your too old".
  9. Just received mine in the mail today, looking foward to reading it. Looks like some great articles as usual.
  10. Awesome looking car, now if someone would make it in plastic.
  11. I like the Cal look especially on an early splitwindow. I like the narrow look with Empi style wheels and also the 15"-16" Fuchs style Porsche wheel.
  12. Thanks, didn't consider diecast wheels and tires. You're right, you wouldn't be able to tell much difference.
  13. I'm considering buying the RoG 1/16 52 VW. I would like to possibly customize it if I do. Anyone know where to find some Porsche or Minilite wheels and also some tires?
  14. You're right Harry it was a typo., I meant 52. I think the kit box said it had the 1200cc engine. It looked like a neat kit,I think I may go ahead and buy it.
  15. Just saw this model on the shelf at my LHS, is this a reissue? Has anyone out there built one, is it any good? Kind of a steep price for the kit, was wondering if it is worth buying.
  16. I really enjoyed the show, there were alot of great builds. Met some nice people, everyone seemed very enthusiastic and having a good time. Picked up some good deals from the swap meet. I hope the show will grow. I forgot to bring a camera, did anyone out there who went to the show take any pictures?
  17. They're great for doing a 60's style street rod or custom. The metalflake they used back then was as big as the starkles I used to put on Christmas decorations when I was a kid.
  18. I just happened to go to a local beauty supply store with my wife, they had these large racks of nail polishes. The large variety of colors and pearls was very inspirational. The bottles were larger than what you'd see in a box store, so one or two bottles would go a long way. I'm thinking about buying a couple of colors to try. I'll have tell you I got some funny looks from some of the clerks and customers in the store, until my wife and I explained my interest in nail polish.
  19. Thanks Dr Cranky for the tip. Where do you get your HOK products? Also do you use their primers/etch primers?
  20. I'm really looking foward to Revell '62 Vette. The AMT kit is less than desirable, but is all that is out there. As for a hardtop for the Revell kit, someone in the resin world is bound to come up something.
  21. What is the best way to prep, clean and prime photo etch? I have several F1 aftermarket kits with fairly large wing parts. What is the best way to sand/prep and also is there any particular primer or etch primer that the best to use? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Looks like a great start on the project. I read about it in Rodders Journal also, looking foward to seeing more.
  23. I like it, I'll definitely build one. Then buy a couple more for the parts. I really like the Halibrand wheels.
  24. I wish I could find a 71 Impala, that was my first car. But everyone I've seen I'd have to refinance my house.
  25. Very clean, very cool.
