  1. Wow nice job- ever thought about resin casting a conversion kit for the masses?
  2. Does anyone know how many versions they released? I'm guessing 3, but I'm not sure.
  3. Z scale is roughly 1/2 of N scale, Marklin is very popular in Germany. The first time I saw them was a layout in a small briefcase- amazing.
  4. Colonial Photo and hobby is in Orlando, Daytona Hobby just east of the speedway in Daytona, and Hobbytown in Melbourne right off I-95.
  5. I was just given an old built up 1/16 63 Corvette from a friend.I plan on disassembling and rebuilding it. I'm looking for a good source for aftermarket/custom/used 1/16 parts, tires and peices. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. I'm curious to see what you bought but your photo is deleated.
  7. I bought a set of those almost 40 yrs. ago from the car model bible, the Auto World catalog. I recently found them in a box I'd forgotten about, unfortunately they got brittle and crumbled (bummer) . I used to swap them from model to model trying crazy custom ideas. They looked pretty cool on some kits especially gassers.
  8. I watch WRC and am impressed with all the drivers in that series. You have to have some large ones to drive on some of the courses they race on. I grew up on muscle cars and big American V8's, but I don't care what some of you guys think - those rally cars are pretty darn awesome. Driving a 600hp,awd Ford Focus would be a blast and probably scary as hell.
  9. Mikemodeler, thanks for the tip. I went to our new Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon in hand and bought the Paasche H set cheaper than I could find online ($57 w/tax). Donn, I'm looking foward to trying it out. I'll try your advice about using the #5 tip.
  10. Ordered my free sample almost 2 weeks ago. They sent a confirmation email, said nothing about any shipping. Still haven't recieved my sample- guess I'm probably not going to get mine.
  11. Thanks for all the input guys. I was looking around on the Bear Air web site, I think I'm going to try the Paasche H single action. They sell one with three different tips,#1 #3 #5. The price is right and will be a bit easier to clean than my touch up gun. I still plan to use my touch up gun on standard car bodies as it does seem to work well if adjusted right and the clear mixed correctly.
  12. I've tried several different types of spray equipment. Some put out too much paint some not enough, some have too wide a pattern some too narrow.Just curious as to what some of you out there use for clearcoating. I'm getting ready to paint an F2003 kit and it has alot of complex angles and shapes. I'm looking for some for some suggestions or advise. Thanks.
  13. I use Duplicolor colors for chrome (red and blue), they have 5 or 6 colors. They are large cans and should last you a long time.
  14. I just tried to visit the forum as a guest. I don't always sign in unless I have something to say. The Forum window keeps making me sign in, has something changed?
  15. Just bumping thread. Hope to see you at the show.
  16. The Table Top Cruisers Model Car Club is holding their annual model car show on Aug 7-8 in the Melbourne Square mall Community room. The mall is located west of I-95 on state rd 192. It is an NNL type show (Viewers choice). There will be 16 Classes, one of which will be a junior class 16 yrs old and under. Now and Then- any 2 make and model cars seperated by 20 years. ex: 1969 Camaro and 1989 Camaro 2. Scuderia- Any year Ferrari street or race. Hope to see you there.
  17. More than I want to admit and more than my local Hobbytown. That's all I have to say about that. This post will self destruct in 10 seconds.
  18. Thanks for all the tips,I'll give them a try. I would also like to see a tutorial on soldering P/E.
  19. What is the best glue for attaching P/E to P/E? I want glue some small wing parts on an F1 models. Any advice would be helpful.
  20. I'm looking for very detailed photos of Schumachers F2003 ferrari, both inside and out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  21. GM now has radio spots saying that the new Malibu's interior styling, quality and comfort is better than a 528 BMW. I don't think so. That's a real stretch to try and convince people to buy their cars
  22. I know it's a worn out subject, but I think GM and Chrysler should have been left to restructure. The bailout pretty much left them to business as usual. They both have nice looking products, but that's where it ends.I work on these cars and trucks (Ford,GM,Chrysler)the quality and fit and finish of these vehicles are disappointing. I want to feel good about buying "American" but all they seem to care about is their profit margin, They are not like they were years ago, you still see 40,50 yr and older american cars. Todays cars are just throw away recyclables.
  23. Neat idea. Definitely have to try and stuff a blown motor of some kind in it.
  24. I just went to their website, has anyone tried their plastic primer?
