Does anyone know if an automotive catalized clear coat would work to prevent this reaction?

How about Monograms Uncertain T. I still have the one I built with my father almost 45yrs ago, they haven't reissued it since.

I had a friend give me a box of kits (built and unbuilt) his son had as a kid. In there was a mint Johan 64 Cadillac worth around $100 bucks, I plan on building it. Models are meant to be built. I'll never live long enough to build all the kits I have,but my son said he'll try.

Looking foward to seeing your progress. I built a stock version of this kit years ago. I bought the low rider kit a while back with the intention of doing it the way you're going with it. I like the idea of the skirts,and I agree they should be longer-even with the bottom of the body.

I saw this Video last week, that layout is absolutely amazing. But I'm not surprised, I spent 2 tours in Germany while in the AF. The Germans never do anything half way, they take pride in things they build.

I got one today at my LHS, it's a red one, seems like it's the same brittle plastic as taillight lenses.I'll have to prime everything for paint, don't care for the transparent red.

I wouldn't drill into any aerosol can, even if you think it has no pressure left. If you do a search on this forum there was a thread on safely decanting paint using a device that pierces copper pipe.

Their diecasts are a little exspensive, but their quality is fantastic. I'm originally from eastern NY and have been to their showroom in the Danbury mall,I felt like a kid in a candystore without any money. You could easily spend a ton of money in there.

I like steel wheels with wide whitewalls, they also look good with trim rings and some babymoons.

I use a large Plano tacklebox that I bought at Walmart. It has alot of drawers and compartments and it's mobile.I can take to shows(emergency repairs)as well as club meetings.

It's a hobby my dad introduced me to when I was 7, 47yrs later I enjoy building models as much as that 1st one. Like some of you have said, it's a way to have all the cars I can't afford in 1:1. It's a very relaxing and satisfying hobby.

An SUV crossover convertible, whats the point? It's pretty ugly,though not quite as ugly as the Juke.

My wife and I had a beautiful Christmas dinner with my son and future daughter-in-law,as well as my in-laws and my nephew. That was better than any gift I could have received.

Got some money for Christmas as well as a gift card for Hobby Lobby. Definitely going toward some plastic.
