  1. Spent 10 yrs in the AF as a aircraft corrosion/painter and just recently got laid off after 27 yrs working for an AF contractor as a paint/bodyman. Breathed more than enough paint fumes in my life, I'm looking to do something else. The only paint fumes I want to be around now involve painting plastic.
  2. I would help my family and a few close friends, donate a bunch to charity and then do everything in my power to minimize the amount of money the rotten greedy useless government could get their hands on. Screw redistribution on their terms.
  3. Very cool, don't think I'd have had the patience to save a glue bomb that far gone. Nice job.
  4. My dad started my brother and I building models, they were 1/16 Aurora kits for display in our room. Then we moved on to all the Tom Daniels kits. I used to go to Rexall drugstore, they always had a good model selection. $1.50-$2.50 for a model and 10 cents for Testors paint and glue. If I had $5 in my pocket I could buy a bunch of stuff that would keep me busy building for hours.
  5. They're out there, my local Hobbytown had a couple on the shelf. $26.95 is a bit steep, I'll wait till HobbyLobby gets them and use my 40% off coupon.
  6. It's amazing the power you can get out of a small engine, look at F1 they have 2.5 liter V8's 800hp no turbo. Of course they do twist them up to around 18-20,000 rpm.
  7. All types of paints separate, I bought one of those battery powered stirrers from MicroMark and it works great.
  8. I wish I had an old friend with an extra ticket, I would love to be able to go to that race.
  9. Thanks Roger, I have an extra 50 Ford kit, I forgot about the Ardun motor. If the manifold doesn't fit the Hemi, maybe I'll just put the Ardun in my project.
  10. I'm gathering parts for a project. I want to use a Hemi in a street rod but I need a 3-2 bbl manifold. Does anyone know where I can find one that might work? Any help would be appreciated.
  11. Looking forward to following this build. Those bomber seats are great, might have to get some. I've seen that straight 8 in RoM's catalog and thought about how that might look in a street rod. I guess we're fixing to find out.
  12. I agree with George, I value a compliment from one of my friends in the club I belong to more that any award.
  13. Is this kit really a new tooling or a die cast repop? I've been looking forward to it coming out, but now I'm having second thoughts about buying one. I'm a collector of Corvette kits, but for $26 I don't know. Maybe I'll wait for Hobby Lobby to carry them then I can use a 40% off coupon, that way I won't feel bad if the model isn't up to past Revell kits.
  14. Looking foward to watching your build. That is a sweet looking custom. That's going to be a tough chop job.
  15. Not too concerned about the tires not being Tampo printed, they never seem to be centered correctly. It's better to paint the whitewalls yourself.
  16. Beautiful job, nice color. I just picked up my kit yesterday. Looking forward to building it.
  17. Just got mine tonight at my local Hobby Lobby with my 40% coupon.......$16.50 including tax. Nice kit, think I'll do a mild custom. Just have to think of a neat color.
  18. I know it's off topic, but that jump from the edge of space was wild. His official max speed from 128,000 ft was 834 mph! Only man to break the sound barrier without a plane. Chuck Yeager didn't even go that fast in the X1.
  19. Picked up the Tamiya Ferrari F60 kit at my local HobbyTown for $25, the kit retails for $84. I think I got a good deal.
  20. Very nice build. The truck looks wicked in black.
  21. That sucks, one of the only things I watch on Speed is F1. Not to knock other sports, but don't we have enough darn channels for football, basketball, and NASCAR.
  22. Happy 16th Birthday.I would get some Hobby Lobby 40% off coupons and make that money go much further. They have a real good selection of kits.
  23. I just recently got laid off after 27 yrs at the same job as a lead metal mechanic for an Air Force contractor. The government insourced me and 40 other workers with government civil service workers.
  24. That would definitely turn some heads running to the store for some bread or milk. Thats about all you could carry in there.
