  1. That one really looks sharp
  2. I just looked up his Facebook page and he is talking of releasing new kits and returning his line of small parts late 2013/ early 2014.
  3. I just saw that they had bought that P/E set to market. It should build up in to a nice model. Hobby Design are still marketing a lot of new product but I can't find their web site any more and their Facebook page hasn't been updated in 6 months.
  4. Sounds like your doing a thorough paint prep there Brett. I'm wondering though if the Waikato water may be leaving a residue ? I do all the steps your doing but after I've washed the body and let it dry I always give it a wipe over with a rag and Fuelite. I do this even between coats if I have sanded or handled the body in any way. Fuelite is just a fast drying no residue degreaser widely available locally at the likes of mitre10. The likes of Repco/ Supercheap Auto could sell you a prep wash, wax & grease remover that would do the same thing but cost a lot more.
  5. That color and the decals make it look like a real period piece from back in the day. It really looks great.
  6. Well done. That really looks the part. This is a great kit from Tamiya that literally falls together.
  7. The weathering set against a new set of white walls and rims really sets it apart. The whole model is very well done.
  8. Tower Hobbies is showing a Feb release http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDDNN&P=SM http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDDNS&P=SM
  9. I was thinking of it as the boot lid
  10. They look like the rims may not be deep enough. particularly the rear rims. The biggest issue though is they are only 16" diameter where as the 993 GT2 is18". These are the Scale Production rims shown on another forum.
  11. I thought they were real. Very creative.
  12. I machined those rims from aluminum on my bench lathe then polished them. Scale Production showed some Rauh Welt wheels that had resin centres and aluminum rims on another forum recently but they aren't listed on their website yet http://www.scaleproduction.de/index.php?cat=c10_Wheels-Tires-1-24-Wheels-Tires-1-24.html&XTCsid=c9da03fcde3d83a1064d5537bd19100b&cPath=10&page=1 As for mounting the RWB mesh on the trunk lid I simply taped the piece of photo etch to the lid in the correct position then sprayed a light coat of black through it. i then cut out where the letters were and permanently glued the etch to the trunk lid and blended it in with body putty. Once priimed and painted I just got a fine paint brush and some Tamiya enamel and filled in the RWB lettering.
  13. That is a very clean build. The color scheme suits the car perfectly too. Well done
  14. Thats coming along nicely Brandon. Just take your time and test fit everything. My biggest issue was getting the body shell to sit properly on the assembled chassis. The Tamiya chassis just falls together but my resin body shell was thicker than the Tamiya body leading to interference. It took me some time to determine where the interference points were and to grind the inside of the shell so it seated properly. I didn't do a build thread on mine. i've got mine painted and am currently polishing it.
  15. I can't say much other than Perfect. You should be proud of that one.
  16. Nice. I like the colors and the whitewalls finish it off perfectly. Well Done
  17. Thats a nicely co ordinated blend of different techniques. Well built.
  18. Thats turned out great. Well done.
  19. Thats an unique interpretation of the Slingster. Well done

    32 Ford's

This one goes back a few years now. I built it when Revell first released the 32 HighBoy
  21. It really looks the part now.
  22. I always just spray the primer on to a piece of the sprue from the kit then spray the paint i'm using and look for any adverse reaction. I'd only use a sealer if the plastic showed signs of the paint ' biting ' in to it.
  23. You certainly bought that back from the grave. Well done.
  24. I've always thinned my enamels, acrylics and lacquers with Tamiyas' plastic friendly Lacquer thinner. Its also a great paint remover as it works like regular lacquer thinners but isn't Hot so wont damage the plastic. I do all my cleanup with the regular cheap lacquer thinners from the local hardware/ auto parts store. http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paints-finishes-60/tamiya-maintenance-material-62000/lacquer-thinner-250ml-87077
