  1. I've been dealing with HLJ since 2001 and found them to be 100% reliable. Their new private Warehouse function is excellent for cutting back on shipping expenses and juggling shipments to avoid customs duties and taxes that cut in down here once the package exceeds a prescribed amount in value.
  2. I've read that LB Works have announced that Aoshima will produce one of their wide body Lamborghini conversions next year. Its not clear yet if it will be the Murcielago or the Adventador. Aoshima will now have both in their catalogue so tooling up for the add on body kits isn't too big a job.
  3. I've always used bleach to remove the chrome then Tamiyas' Plastic friendly lacquer thinner to remove the clear coating under the chrome. http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paints-finishes-60/tamiya-maintenance-material-62000/lacquer-thinner-250ml-87077
  4. I've been using one of these for a couple of years now. Sprayed everything at it from enamels/ auto lacquers and 2k clear coats without an issue. I've only ever used an airbrush with mine but i've seen video on you tube of someone demonstrating spraying a aerosol can of lacquer directly at it with out any surprises. There is nothing in my instruction book or on the box about not using it with flammable paints, just the usual warnings to use it when sober/ keep kids clear ect ect. There would be differences in litigation laws between countries so it may be the warnings in your country is the retailer protecting themselves ?
  5. Now that MAS aren't available any more the best equivalent I've found is Replicas & Miniatures 1/24-1/25 motorcycle wheels. They have photo etch spokes with resin rims and a jig for assembly
  6. Modelhaus has a F.A.Q. webpage giving recommendations for cleaning and removing paint from their products. http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?faq=1
  7. That has turned out great. The chop looks just right and colors suit it perfect. Nice build.
  8. I built that kit when it first came out. I remember the metal that Revival uses for these kits is very hard compared to the soft metal that the likes of MFH use. The white tires on my Fiat lost their shape and disintegrated over the decades. You've done a very impressive build on what I remember as a crude and some what difficult kit.
  9. Koolest Kruzers has a sub section on Modelhaus and has photos of some of the range. If your french is non existent like mine you can use google translator. http://koolestkruzers.smileyforum.net/t1572-modelhaus
  10. Maybe i've missed something too. I thought we've all been well behaved lately. This board is no different to any of the others I frequent.
  11. That works a treat. Thanks

  13. I've found Tamiyas' Lacquer Thinner #87077 to be excellent for removing paint without it damaging plastic. Due to the cost of it though i only use it on stubborn paints that cheaper alternatives wont budge. http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=87077
  14. Modelhaus has heaps of whitewalls in a variety of sizes. Some of them are copies of the old Satcos.
  15. That is some serious decal work. You should be proud of that build.
  16. A close match would be a Work Meister S1. Aoshima made these available in one of their wheel kits but they are now being shown as discontinued http://www.hlj.com/product/aos00532 Hobby Design make them in resin in 17"/ 18' and 19" http://www.hlj.com/product/HYDHD03-0198 Hobby Search/ hobby Link have pages of wheels and tires available. Looking through their selections may find something suitable http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?MacroType=TirWhe&Dis=2&GenreCode=aut&searchpage=aut&DisplayMode=images&Sort=std&qid=HR3P7EJI2GTZJ9A&set=1&Scale2=24 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1832/0/1
  17. X2 on the Brake Fluid. I've had a bad experience with Isopropyl Alcohol too where it turned some resin parts to the consistency of rubber. I've never had a issue Lacquer thinners though. I don't soak the part in a bath of it, just scrub it with a tooth brush and wipe it with a rag.
  18. X2 on that. When I needed a new filter I took out the one in the booth and went along to a local supplier of filtration material and bought a square metre off his bulk roll of equivalent material. Buying it like that and cutting them to size at home costs me $1.65 a filter compared to the $15 each they wanted for a original replacement part locally.
  19. I've been using the exact same spray booth for a good 18 months now throwing everything from enamels to 2k clear coats at it and its yet to explode or have any kind of an issue. Its a generic spray booth sold around the world under a number of different names.
  20. Pat Coverts books were my bibles back in the day and the info is still just as relevant today. Mark S Gustavsons' Custom Car Modeling is another book I have always looked on as a classic ..... http://www.amazon.com/Custom-Car-Modeling-Mark-Gustavson/dp/0890243425
  21. Hobby Search has photos and the instructions for it. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10205955

  23. This kit is still being shown on their website and is listed their print 2013/ 2014 catalogue http://www.cybermodeler.com/catalog/trumpeter.shtml#.UTp6iY63nEl
  24. Greg has stated he is paying for this forum out of his own pocket, every month, every year and its obvious its a thankless task at times. Some sites I belong to have a ' Donate ' which you simply click to make a donation of the amount of your choice. Maybe this could be looked at here so we could give Greg something back and remove some of the burden he alone is carrying to host this forum.
