Looking good!

My 90 Chevy that I have complained about on another post here, 31x10 off road tires with stock rims, nothing outside the truck, and will soon be adding mud flaps, because I don't like slinging it all over. But I love playing in it, always fun to watch faces of the 4x4 guys lol. I have bumper mount foglights, and a good tow hitch, and tow mirrors, as I will tow a camper trailer every so often. But I agree, if I want cool, I'll build a model.

I cheated when I did it, but here's how: I rinsed my beans, and then added a whole diced onion, table spoon fresh diced garlic, salt, pepper. Took the ribs out of the package cut them to where it was 3-4 bones per chunk. (Spare ribs is what I had on hand.) Covered beans in about 2" water. Tossed the ribs in, gave it a quick stir. Pressure cooked in the Instapot 40 minutes. Dropped the steam using the valve. Opened, at this point the ribs were cooked so I pulled the bones. Shredded the meat and all the fat into the beans. Put it on simmer while I fried the tators for another 10-15 or so, stirring and adding seasoning as needed. The ribs give a nice pork flavor, and thickens the beans up nicely too. I have done this same recipe with ribs I have smoked too. Just have to mind the char from smoking/grilling.

It's a look I am not a fan of..and the fact the side wall is less than 1/2 the tread face as well. I call most of the trucks like this... pavement princesses. I know a few folks take them out in the mud and dirt, but the princesses drive me nuts. And when I was getting my license ages ago, this was illegal as all get out, and now here we are.. no mud flaps no fender extensions, just a look that is not pleasant. If they had big fat tires with tons of side wall, and fenders that show chips from rocks from mud and gravel.. that would be cool. (Call it my age showing lol)

Dude!! Thank you sir! I will be making my way to them. Yeah, that sucks, and knock on wood so far, no oil issues on it. And the CVT is... interesting to say the least, I am not a fan of it but hey happy wife, happy life.

Here is a few update pics on the 57 Fairlane I am working on for the wife. I will have the wheels on tomorrow I am thinking, and then have to do a couple details on the frame and add the black on the wire wheels to show the spokes. I haven't done anything else body/interior due to waiting on some stripper for them.

Oh .. I don't mind at all, It was the transmission service that after 75k which I didn't know about, being done. Which is fluid/filter change. Had I been told at the time I did my LOF service, I would of done it then. But yes, I will be looking for a new place that is good, trustworthy, and not overpriced that knows Subaru's. I appreciate you asking @Rodent

I will definitely be hunting down a good forum for my car! I have noticed that Subaru owners as a run stick together like glue. Through good or bad.

Oh I agree it's a nasty practice. But in the end, it's still better than a car payment, and I will be a ton less trusting with the service department than I had been in the past. Funny, my job relies on customer service, and if I did what they did, I would be terminated on the spot. I suppose it's time to make folks aware of the junk via online reviews. Good cars... bad dealer service folks.

Today .. Subaru... Subaru... Subaru not doing their jobs during warranty windows: I have a 2016 Forester and during the warranty period, when I took it in for service, I asked them... Is there any preventive maintenance that I need to address at this oil change interval... Nope, nothing .. not a thing, did this for 93K miles,.. so today here I am .. Irked.. nope pissed off... I had a code that showed up this weekend in the form of Transmission sensor fault, and of course this is in the valve body and not as a replaceable part, no... I have to replace the whole bloody valve body now. So ... New car payment 600-700 month for 72 or... 4500 in repairs for another 120k miles .. so yeah my CC is getting slapped but no car payment. I really wish that the dealers would train the service department to be better at helping their customers avoid big expenses later on, and making sure "we the customer" are aware of recommended preventions before they become a 4500 mess later on. (The transmission thing is 3200 of this... the 1300 is other small things that may become major things if they aren't taken care of now). I love Subaru's and will continue being a fan of them, as still one of the better reliable vehicles I have owned and currently own.
