  1. Looks like lots of good times ahead at the workbench. ? Joe
  2. A nice model build! One of my favorite model kits from days long past. I should build another one for old times sake. ? Joe
  3. That is amazing! ?? I look forward to seeing how this project comes along. Joe
  4. Thank you, Stephen! That is sure nice when you can have a model you and your Dad built together; it's something you can look at and cherish. Joe
  5. Thank you for the nice comments above. I added a bit of detail to the belt pulleys, and made some pedal covers for the bare kit plastic piece along with some plug wire looms. The pedal cover pieces and wire looms were cut from the plastic that encased Sudafed pills and has an embossed aluminum appearance. Joe
  6. Welcome to the forum, Matt! Joe
  7. Welcome to the forum, Eric! Joe
  8. I have decided to go with the 24" width spray booth after much thought. Thank you all for your visits and comments as they are appreciated. Joe
  9. After looking at more of the absolutely fantastic builds displayed by model makers who know what they are doing, and then coming back here and looking at what I put on the forum as a WIP, I can only say I am embarrassed that the build thread was started. Joe
  10. +1 Super nice model! ?? Joe
  11. Thank you, David. I have the room for a larger spray booth but honestly haven't convinced myself I would actually get much use out of the extra width. Especially when I consider the cost difference; that difference can represent a lot of model paint. Nevertheless I am still giving the choice a lot of thought. Joe
  12. Just having a little fun at the work bench with scraps of hexagon rod and sheet plastic before I go back outside to finish the yard work. Joe
  13. Thank you Bill and Greg! A couple more ideas to consider as options for a good painting experience. ? Joe
  14. Regular tube type shop lights. I will check out the link. Thank you again. Joe
  15. Thank you again, Dusty. As I am not familiar with the bulbs where would I look to purchase them, and, are they available for use on overhead shop lights? Joe
  16. Wow! That is going to be eye candy for sure. What a great color. ? Joe
  17. Thank you for the get back regarding the spray booth, Dusty. I certainly don't want to be cramped for space while painting a model so your comments regarding size are understood. And a special thanks for the lighting information which is a big consideration when looking through these old eyes of mine. Joe
  18. Am considering a Pace spraybooth with an opening of 24" x 15" for use in the basement hobby room. Most of my auto/truck models are 1/25 and 1/24 scales, planes are 1/72 and 1/48 scales with a few at 1/32 scale. Also have some ship models on the shelf. The question: do you folks who have the 24" wide spraybooth find a real need for, or wish you had purchased, the 36" wide spraybooth? There is a big price difference between the two sizes and thus the question. Thank you for the thoughts and comments. ? Joe
  19. Nice looking model for your wife. Was good of you to build it for her. ? Joe
  20. That's the one, Mike. I have an Orange Crate kit on the shelf... and it's going to stay there until I get a few models finished. Don't want it to turn out like my first go-round! ?? Joe
  21. That's quite a nice stash of model projects for a return to the hobby. Welcome back! Joe
  22. Very nice build! And that's a great collection of dragster models you have. ?? Joe
  23. You are doing such a good job on the fiddly parts with this model, Mike, perhaps you should consider building the Orange Crate for your next project! ?? Joe
  24. Nice color on this model! Joe
  25. Two thumbs up! ?? Joe
