  1. Ace Hardware has music wire that comes in various diameters and can be cut to length as required for model use. Joe
  2. Thank you for the welcome, Trevor! Joe
  3. Thank you for the welcome, Carl! Joe
  4. Would like to see a 2008 Ford Ranger Extended Cab with the V-6. Then I could build a model of my 1:1 PU. Joe
  5. Nice model! Swamp Cooler, skirts, wood use on the bed and the outside and inside cab appointments…it all works great. Really like the two tone green color choice for this build. Joe
  6. Nice looking model with an eye-catching color combination. This would sure look nice today as a 1:1 in my driveway! Joe
  7. I remember when the original Red Baron hit the hobby shop shelves and it was so cool. Your rendition is top shelf and is the best looking Red Baron I’ve seen! If I saw a kit with box art depicting your model I would be all over it! Great modeling here and I am glad you shared the photos with us. Joe
  8. Nice body color! One tip you may want to consider for the "leather" seats and such: after painting and drying time I dust off the part, rub my index finger across my forehead or beside my nose (did I really just say that!) and rub the body oil onto the area where I want a bit of shiny leather look. Doesn't take a lot of work and can bring another dimension to the interior. Joe
  9. What papajohn97 said. Joe
  10. Coming along very nicely and the color is so good for the model. The 1:1 was a real favorite with me back in the "day"; I can still recall seeing these being driven off the auto transport while walking to the high school in Ionia, MI. I was late for the first class on more than one occasion...? Joe
  11. I really like the color as it is not the usual dark lead-sled look. It's classy in and of itself and should be an eye-catcher when finished. Looking forward to seeing the completed build. Joe
  12. Nicely done! I especially like the debris in the box, faded rubber on the tires and rusted surfaces that were originally painted white. Joe
  13. Great build! Would look good with a grain hauling trailer to maintain the farm theme. Joe
  14. That is really cool! Great color. Would be a blast to drive one that looks like your model! Joe
  15. First model was an AMT 1960 Mercury Comet that my Grandfather Keller bought for me in 1960. Followed by kits (no particular order) like the AMT 1928 Ford Sedan, Li'l Coffin, Mayflower ship, Spad and others that I would like to see on the work bench again...especially the 1960 Comet kit. Joe
  16. I have always enjoyed the model box top drawn/painted artwork rather than photo art presentation. Seems to excite my enthusiasm for the model subject much faster. More than a few kits have followed me home because of the box art presentation by folks like Greer, Steel, Leynnwood, Kishady and many other artists. Joe
  17. A great start on a nice model. Glad I picked up a kit at HL 40% sale. Your build brings back fond memories of my first VW driving experience with a '68 Bug...fun to drive! Bought a new '71 Super Beetle, red with black interior, auto/stick tranny and much needed optional heater that mounted in the front "boot". Should have held onto that car. Joe
  18. Thank you for the welcome, Leroy!
  19. Thank you for the welcome, Larry! Joe
  20. Thank you for the welcome, Bob! Sounds like we both had lots of fun with RC aircraft. I was scratch/plan building a 93" wingspan Spirit of St. Louis when I had the mini-stroke. Gave the model to a friend and he is finishing the build at 80 years of age! But you know, when I am down in the model room I am having fun and that's good.? Joe
  21. Thank you for the welcome, Wolf! The Tamiya Corsair model is the 1/48 scale size with the Moto-Tow replica. A nice kit. Joe
  22. Thank you for the welcome, Granville! Joe
  23. Built the Revell Mayflower kit when I was a teenager (my Father and paternal Grandparents were from Plymouth, Massachusetts) and remember the build was challenging, especially the painting. Turned out to be a good looking model after quite a few hours of work. Your build is coming along nicely and makes me want to build another Mayflower! Joe
  24. Thank you for the information, Bill! Straightforward and easy to understand text and photos. Will be using this method on a future build with confidence the framework will come out right. It's good advice that I appreciate! Joe
  25. Thank you for the welcome, Doyle! Joe
