  1. Welcome to the forum, Matt! Joe
  2. I sure hope you didn't take my "models in the picture" the wrong way. I was trying to make a "funny" because I didn't even see the model kits on the shelf in the upper right hand corner until after I had looked over the guitars! Sorry ? , and I apologize if I came off wrong to anyone on the forum thread. Joe

  11. I think a lot of us older folks have more models in the stash than we will ever see built; buying new kits is a big part of the fun. However, here is a thought you may want to consider. Years ago I had over 1300 kits in the basement. I gave a number of them away to model club members, sold some and put some aside for myself. There was still way too many in the house. Desert Storm came along and Fine Scale Modeler had an article about donating model kits to our troops overseas for RR use. Long story short, my wife and I took about 700 kits out of the stash and had them sent overseas and to Veterans Hospitals. When I am gone my modeling items are going to be sent to the Veterans Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Might be something similar you would like to do. Joe
  12. Ha Ha! I remember taking those four motors, hanging each one on a string from a tree branch, and using them for BB gun practice! An M-80 took care of the rest of that diabolical thang! Joe
  13. Les Paul guitars too! I have owned six of them over the years, however, my go to guitar is a Fat Telecaster with the 5-way switch. Much lighter weight and I REALLY like the sound and playability. By the way guy, aren't there supposed to be model kits or something like that in your photo? Joe
  14. A bit of an engineering marvel there and you are doing a really nice model build of this not-so-easy to construct kit. Joe
  15. That's going to look good. Joe
  16. Thank you for the welcome, John. I think you are going to have fun with building models again, I know I am sure enjoying it! Joe
  17. That's going to look great ?! Joe
  18. Sorry to see you lost your models that way, Bill. It can be a bit of a shock to have all your work thrown out that way without someone at least asking you if you want to keep the models. Joe
  19. Dental Elevator Tool, eh? That thing surely would raise someone off their seat! I use a curved scribed tool, the back edge of a used #11 blade and various dental tools. A small piece of 180 or 220 grit sandpaper, folded in half and run along the scribed line, can help to smooth the line to a uniform width/depth. Joe
  20. Yes Sir, I will admit to that! And if I am a bit slow to get there during 40% off week my bride of near on 54 years will tell me to "get a move on" so WE can see what's on the shelf. Pretty neat, eh? Joe
  21. Let's try this one more time with a different camera. Surrounded by projects and having fun at the bench! Joe
