What a cool old school Gasser!!! Just about everything looks right...except for that Accel Coil... Didn't have them for the time period that Willys is representing. If that 1961 NHRA sticker is indicative of the time period that is...

OK my friend...since you said you welcome constructive comments I shall do my best to point out some things you might execute better the next time around. I'm not busting on you here...just genuinely trying to help you see a few things.... 1. The hood is ill fitting...this is probably because of how the hinges are mounted? I have this kit and without the hinges attached, the hood fits very well in it's place. 2. The rubber part of the wiper blade has been BMF'd....maybe paint that part flat black? 3. In the 3rd photo, under the driver's side front headlight, there is some kind of chunk out of the body there...what is that? 4. You've lost the bottom part of the trunk lines. Kinda looks like it had filler on it and then the lines weren't replaced. Maybe you can scribe them in? 5. The passenger side headlight lens is crooked as compared to the driver's side being done correctly. 6. In that same photo you can see some junk in the paint on the front of the hood. Maybe that could be sanded and polished out? 7. You're missing the oil breather tube in that hole in the front of the intake manifold. 8. Your brake lines are all located incorrectly. They should be routed over the top of the rear end and the front suspension pieces...and alongside rather than on the bottom of the frame rails. 9. While I love the scheme you picked out for the interior, your paintwork lines between the white and red on the seats is pretty sloppy. Maybe use some masking tape next time? 10. And the paint has a lot of orange peel in it along with some silicone pockmarks. These could probably be sanded out and polished. 11. I realize that the kit includes those 4 mounting blocks for the rear end, but no car I ever saw had blocks at all 4 corners. I was a gearhead in the late 60's and when we jacked up our cars we did it by using extra long shackles at the rear only...nothing in the front. Now, all this said, it's still a pretty decent looking model. You did a pretty good job with BMF'ing the car. There's a lot there that had to be done for sure. Now...I hope you don't think I'm tearing the model apart. I just see that everyone else is telling you what a great job you did when in reality, there's a bunch of things that could be done to make your model really nice. And no one else was pointing anything out even when you said you'd take constructive comments. I hope you can take my suggestions in that context.

Had to take my wife to the E.R. at 0530 Thursday morning. Vomiting steadily for previous 2 days. Doc admitted her and today is now day 4. CT scan showed an area of inflammation in her small bowell again. Stupid Crohn's Disease! I wish the researchers could find a cure. Today makes something like 1,756 days in 9 different hospitals over the last 17 years with this disease! Oh well...I'm retired so I can be with her all the time and I can at least have the internet with my Droid X2! Sorry to vent...

161 just came in the mail! -
You know...the one that Micromark sells for about 48 bucks? The one that plugs into the a/c outlet...not the battery operated one. If so...do you like it? Does it work good? Is it robust enough to last years? Does it do a good job mixing the paint? etc etc.. Thinking of buying one and just wanted the experience of others who may already have used this product... Thanks much, Terry

No problem Buddy. Just didn't recognize it as any engine I knew and I hadn't looked at the WIP thread. Love the "Oldsrolet" comment....funny!
-
I know you listed all the parts used in your engine...but exactly what engine is it supposed to be?

What about the exhaust pipes? Solder?

Most of Connecticut got hit hard even though it had downgraded to tropical storm winds. The power is just beginning to be restored. I am still without power. Although I have a generator its still not like reg power. Cable is out too. This sucks this camping in your own home thing! Lol With no internet all my communication is through my DROID.... -

Get the subscription. Even though it may come a few days after a hobby shop might have it...I know it's coming, I don't have to use the $4 a gallon gas to go to the LHS to get it and I think it's a tad cheaper by subscription. This latet issue is really good. -

Going to the U.S. Nationals!

There is only one thing that I have experienced that matches the look, the horsepower, the excitement and the noise level of a top fuel race...and that's a US fighter jet taking off on full afterburner. Both are awesome experiences! But what makes a top fuel race so great is that you, as an average Joe, can get SO close to the source of all this power. You can't get very close to the fighter jet takeoff unless you're in the military! Enjoy cuz after that experience you will be hooked for life! -
VERY nice...very nice indeed!

Jason...please read this article I wrote back in 2002 for Internet Modeler on my build of that kit and see if your build ran along the same lines as mine.... I'm just curious if you found the same things I found.. http://www.internetmodeler.com/2002/october/automotive/gtx.htm
