I really like it so far, cool!

Yeah, gauge and under hood decals would be an easy and welcome addition to re-releases.

You can easily put 4 rounds on that mesh, looks great! You have to be creative finding something to use for those 4 rounds, LED style should be considered.

Bernard, I agree, out of box is just to see how good the kit really is, but for me, all the parts are for kit bashing and there looks to be some great kit bashing parts in this one, as I've already ordered 2 just for that purpose! That Stacey David Rat Roaster kit was another, 2 kits just for parts, especially those wheels and tires! Too bad the guitar was stupid looking, I wanted a Gibson to go with the Fender from the Magnum kit. Kit bashing though is probably what MOST of us do, and the newest Revell kit certainly looks like a winner!

Looking great so far!

I like the F-40 idea, and 2 rounds on each side is sort of a Vette tradition, let's see it!!!

Here's what I did with mine. A bit of kit bashing and small amount of scratch building but kept it pretty simple and the result is pretty nice!

I agree, with all the re-issues they should put something new in them so those of us who already have an un-built one in stock would still buy the new reissue. New decals, wheels and tires at the very least, but a second hood or grill as an option would also help sales with minimal added expense to the manufacturer.

Now that's eye catching!

Modelhaus resin ' 61 Galaxie Starliner Finished 08/16

Sure looks cool and would be an outstanding ride in 1:1, I love the color, wheels and height, you did a great job on this one, love it! -
Man I love that one, the stance is perfect and all the work you're doing to get it there is the kind of stuff I love to see. What you're doing under that Scout can be a tutorial for so many kits with molded on suspension or things that need to be separated and kit bashed and scratch built and so on! I tried to Pro Street one many years ago, but it never turned out quite right. Seeing yours now, I think I should do one more like you are, thank you for the inspiration!

It looks beautiful! As for that upper rad hose, I usually don't even bother with the kit ones, find an electrical wire the same thickness, strip both ends leaving some wire, then glue one end into the thermostat housing and when dry, bend the wire to fit into the rad perfectly, so much easier, especially for the lower rad hoses, you can brush paint it with acrylic Nato Black if you need to after it's installed. Thin strips of foil or photo etch hose clamps can also be added after if you wish. Love the work so far!! -
1961 Starliner Mild Custom. Update, 8/8 Finished!!
dino246gt replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looking cool, love those Starliners! Here's what I do when I drill out the headlights, foil the bucket but don't trim the foil, Q-tip the inside and glue in the clear lenses from a parts box or donor kit. Once the lenses are glued in, trim the foil using the clear lens as a guide for your knife, it makes it a lot easier than all the other methods I've tried over the years. I really don't like chrome headlights! -
Yeah, that looks really great what you've done so far, can't wait to see more!!!
