What if front wheel drive didnt work out so well? What if gas was still 26 cents a gallon? What if NASCAR did not have "green white checkers" What if we had left Japan and Germany to fend for themselves after WWll?

That is even more impressive when you realize he did it all himself, not just the metal fab. I was blown away to see him painting it, then upholstery too......it's done so well and has such impeccable craftsmanship that compared to the work in progress the finished product looks so simple, so basic, like somethings missing.

It looks as if rather than use a restored bug for reference, they used a resto-bug, and not a very good one. Whats with the hubcaps being cast as part of the chrome wheels? And chrome running boards? Ugly tires? I was pretty excited at first, but now, not so much.

It would be a hoot to see this one run against those "Street Outlaws". Might have to change the series name to "Rod's Rules"

Not necessarily. Look at the resin tire business. Modelhaus and Replicas & Miniatures get lots of praise. Discussion has been presented on the tire issue, but no real reason why small vendors couldn't supply detailed rubber tire and wheel sets to the OEM companies. They do it in Japan with great success.

Imagine the shame those cars must feel.......sorta like the first day at a new school and your mom dresses you up. I'd like to look into the psyche of the guys that think those are "cool".
