  1. More stuff here. The first pic shows the tan color of the "white" tires. The other pics.......UGH. http://social.rides.com/blog/32/colored-tires-for-your-ride
  2. Wow, I dig that! Great job on the weathering. That plus the lowered stance and the shiny wheels on whites make for great contrast.
  3. Nice! Speaking of ebay, why did you decide to sell it off?
  4. I'm stoked over this announcement! Its a good thing theyre re-doing it in 1/25. I've got a few parts left over from my childhood build of this kit, and some pieces like the blower, seem more close to 1/20 than 1/24. Reverse engineering plus upgrades!
  5. I don't really see any probs either. Some have some pretty thin skin, but that is true in the outside world too. Perhaps there should be a "pause" button before posting, having a waiting period of 24 hrs before it shows up on the forum. Lord knows that would have come in plenty handy in my sent emails over the years.
  6. Thx for the info on that Cobra JC, and the invite. Where did you get those wires? And as for the invite to MAMA, thx! Seeing that I live on the left coast might be tough I aspire to someday take a year off from "life" and hit all the shows and clubs. That would be an experience!
  7. I bought from them last year. Great service, and very reasonable shipping.
  8. I picked up a lot of engine cover tins awhile back. Bill, if you, or anyone, has some pics, I'll send you one if it matches.
  9. Excellent! Stance is just right, not too much demon camber, the spoilers are great ( I dont like wings ) and that solid orange engine compartment is just right.
  10. Very clean! Those 67 Chargers sure look good as funny cars.
  11. Well I thought I knew every bug built, but that S.A. standard-super combo is new to me! Thats sparked new interest in finishing my kit off!
  12. Interestingly, I love your mock-up. Must be the open steelies, or the poseable front wheels, or the overall attitude. I dig that first pic!
  13. That turned out great. The color certainly fits it! You know, I've seen those "Lil John" decals on numerous builds, and i just don't like them. However, on your build, they fit perfectly. Might be the color, or the body, or the overall attitude, but its just right!
  14. I'm gonna have to dig that kit out!
  15. I dig it Fred, and as the others have said, the backstory makes it even better. I love those first two 3/4 front views, very realistic. I can just see ( and hear it ) with uncorked headers burning those rear tires off.
  16. I'm doing something similar. I'm working on getting all of AMT's trophy Series kits, the old Monogram rods like the blue beetle and red chariot, and the "early iron" series.
  17. Great work Bob! The modified bumper makes a huge difference.
  18. Some dish soap contains alcohol to reduce spotting on dishes. That would certainly eat up your paint.
  19. Love the rear/side view. Looking sharp!
  20. Welcome JC. I love the red Cobra, and your 914/6 is coming along great! Sorta wish I was a MAMA's boy
  21. Great vid, thanks for posting! "Senna" is a must-see for anyone who loves racing. I watched it twice, then put it back on my Netflix queue. Fantastic movie. He seemed to be a truly humble man despite his success and absolute star status in Brazil.
  22. Nice tip! For sanding sticks, I save my Starbucks coffee stirrers, spray some 3M 77 adhesive on them, and stick sandpaper to it.
  23. Thx for the pics. I picked this up long ago and was unfortunately disapointed. From the windshield back it is a decent representation of a 73 and later Super Beetle, but the front end is just wrong. The front of the body, from the headlights forward doesn't stick out far enough. Its not all that noticeable when the bumper is on. The hood however, is awful. Its closer to a standard beetle than a super. This is how it should look. yea, I know Im counting the rivits.........since I had a 71 super for over 35 years I am picky!
