    Thank you David and Mario. You're correct about using the filler instead of the "real" hood ornament. I wasn't paying attention at the time. I actually put the hood in a baggie and froze it overnight but the filler piece wouldn't come out, so I left it.

    Here's a 1950 Ford convertible I just finished. I was going for factory stock and according to color charts, Ford offered a light grey paint in 1950. Duplicolor primer/sealer seems to be pretty close so that's what I used.
