  1. You ain't kidding with flash. I've never had a model with so much on it. Probably took me a good hour to get the garbage off. I rattle canned the body in Testor's Blazing Red but had issues - it's in the purple pond right now. I hope to shoot again later in the week, but it'll be a maroon next time. I changed the hood scoop too. I never cared for the factory scoop. Too big for a smaller car.
  2. Working on a '69 Scambler with the engine, chassis, and interior complete.
  3. Here's a couple pics of the interior of the '53 Studebaker I'm working on. Might not be able to see it well, but I've started using Scale Dreams 3/8" hardline for turn signal levers. I cut to size, put a drop of Micro Krystal Klear on the end and paint that to match interior.
  4. That wrap looks very good. I'll have to check Wal-Mart for a roll and maybe try and interior too! Might be easier to cut if you laid it out on glass. How about painting after you're wrapped the pipes?
  5. Looks most excellent. Love the tie dye look. Can't wait to see the finished product.

    1966 Nova

Both look fantastic! How did manage the Zolotone in the trunk?
  7. I have a Rolling Thunder meeting on the 10th, but will try to make the 11th. I'm going to ask Terry again if he'd like to take a ride and the heck with his boat.
  8. We have Rob's Hobby in Ocala and a small shop in Beverly Hills. Both cater to the R/C world, however, Rob has been getting new releases lately and not charging an excessive price. He's cheaper in some cases than Hobby Lobby that's further up the road.
  9. Welcome youngster from a '48 model. This is a really neat place to interact with fellow modelers.
  10. Gonna make it a street rod, Rick or a racing machine? I vote street.
  11. I hear you. These aftermarket world (Scale Dreams, MCG, R&D) has to be getting the product from somewhere because I doubt they are the manufacturers. Have you tried contacting an aftermarket person and ask them to sell you a large quantity at a reduced price? Worst they can say is no. I doubt that they'd tell you their source. If I was in the business, I wouldn't tell you where I got product.
  12. I figured out how to get prices from Daburn. Whoa!!! Their #2350 tubular braid, 1/8"ID, 50 feet long, is $126.00. That comes out to $2.50 per foot. Outta my league.
  13. Maybe like several of you, I ordered the micro chisel and replacement tips from Mssion Models back on July 9, 2009. I called first and Jon said everything was in stock. On August 13, 2009 I called and was told out of stock and should be getting the items in about 3 - 4 weeks. Today, September 22, 2009 I called Mission Models and was told out of stock but should be getting everything in 2 weeks. "It takes time to machine the parts" is what I was told. Well, Mission Models has 2 more weeks to show or they're going to have to refund my money.
  14. Me again. Got out the old micrometer. Looks like .080 diameter (2" scale) for radiator hoses, .025" for fuel lines, and .022" for ignition wires (this size fits through the MCG wire looms).
  15. That Daburn place also has #2671 Ultra Flexible Sub-Miniature Wire that might be able to be used for ignition wire, battery cables, etc. They have several colors and sizes. Daburn doesn't show any prices for anything - at least I couldn't find them. I don't know the the wire size that aftermarket guys use for their ignition wire or what sizes of the braided you'd use for what purpose (fuel, radiator, A/C, etc.).
  16. Looking good Dave. I did something similar many years ago using the front & rear fenders from a "37 Chevy kit.
  17. Great news! Must be flower power. Does this mean your auctions are going to slow down?
  18. First one?? Holy cow! My first was painted with a brush and looked terrible - but I was still proud of it. Keep going.
  19. Hey thanks for the nice comments. The '70 GSX is one of my favorite cars. I love the lines of it.
  20. Hobby Lobby has 30% diecasts, model kits and Krylon paint through September 26, 2009.
  21. Hey Bob - no I wasn't going to use real tracks. I was thinking more if 2 sets of Pegasus wheels would fit nicely in there. My thoughts are a wild street rod. I haven't purchased the kit and haven't decided if I want to. How do you think it would look with 23" chrome Ts all the way around?
  22. No trailer w/jet ski. That would have been really nice. It's just the name of the kit. Lots of ground effects, nice wheels/tires, surfer kinda decals.
