  1. Kits look good. How bad is the bad news?
  2. Nice looking truck.
  3. Why just go to Scale Dreams that has the correct size wire and in a variety of colors. Rick also has scale wire looms.
  4. Super slick paint job, Cliff. Looks as if you can end the nail polish thinning issue - what did you use to thin the nail polish? Acrylic enamel reducer? Lacquer thinner?
  5. I looked at Home Deport today for acrylic enamel reducer and they don't have any. Is it supposed to be reducer or thinner? I got a bottle of purple nail polish that's screamin' to be used on a kit.
  6. I think I hate the guy.
  7. Yo Brandon, Where you been hiding? Missed you at the last storage party Lyn hosted. You been doin' okay?
  8. I haven't heard back from a person who said he was interested in my little compressor, so I may just post it in swap & trade section soon. It's very quiet, no tank.
  9. I've used scale ignition wire for valve stems and also "hard lines" I got from Rick at Scale Dreams.
  10. Whoa. I'm going to be keeping an eye on this build.

Been following your build "on the workbench". The finished project looks fantastic.
  12. Could there be a purpose to get the paint all wrinkled and then have it stay like that?
  13. I think it would be too much fun driving a little deuce coupe around. We have a dune buggy (avatar pic) but it doesn't have a top or glass except the windshield. It can get pretty chiily in there. The coupe would have all the glass as well as heat & AC. That would be a year round vehicle for me. I'll have to start working on my wife to convince her that we NEED a hot rod.
  14. Looking good and welcome. Nice detail on the interior. Don't forget the steering wheel.
  15. HL in Ocala is garbage for kits. They have few selections and the same kits are there month after month. No way I would spend the money they want for a kit without using the 40% coupon - that's good on only 1 item. I've printed several coupons in the past, pay for an item, leave the store, have cigarette (sorry), go back in and get something else. After 3 or 4 trips they get upset and tell I can't do that. So I don't - until the next time. The coupon says only one coupon per day so I guess they were giving me a break.
  16. No,no, no, Mark. If I had a coupe like that I would be out driving it all the time and wouldn't have time to build kits, so I would give them away. I'm not close to having a sweet hot rod like that and don't have nearly as many kits anyway. But I start getting Social Security in March sooooooooooooooooooo maybe I'll start a hot rod fund.
  17. If I had a nice little coupe like that, I'd give away all the model kits because I wouldn't have time to build -I'd be out driving.
  18. Excellent. I really like your choice of exterior/interior colors.
  19. I bought a bottle of Future at Wal-Mart. It shines real good. You ever shave off door handles/emblems, etc.? I believe it was Mr. Obsessive that posted to cover those area with Future so it seals the plastic before painting. You want to look at his 1949 Merc build. Lots of helpful tip there.
  20. I voted model because it looks like a model.
  21. Congratulations, Benjamin. What are your plans for the future?
  22. Great pics. Thanks. All those kits stacked up - does 1 guy sell/trade those or are they just for club members?
  23. I use only Model Car Wax. Dawn - the blue stuff.
  24. Yo Dave, I'm over on the left coast of FLA - a little south and west of Ocala.
  25. For Christmas I got 10 HOK kandy colors along with a silver and a gold basecoat. Just today I sprayed half the spoon with silver and half gold. Then I sprayed the whole spoon with the individual colors. On the inside of each spoon I printed the code and name of the paint. As I get more paints, I'll continue the coding. Blue over silver looks blue, but blue over the gold looks green. That's about the first time I used an airbrush and it was fun. I can't wait to do a whole body.
