  1. Acres does some nice work. Nice babe too! Zed's work is fantastic. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how the masking is done and how those fine lines are created. I've tried Line-O-Tape, slitting tamiya masking tape and still can't get the lines these guys do. Is there a secret someone would like to share? Please.
  2. Good looking wheels. What are they? Are you going to fill all those chrome trim holes? I can imagine the holes filled and that trim across the middle painted a contrasting color - but that's me. I have a '58 Chevy kit but it must be AMT. Mine doesn't have all those holes.
  3. Got squat! I had a 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby and stopped there today. Their shelves were almost completely empty of model kits.
  4. I can't give an opinion about other model car forums because I've never been there. MCM is the only forum for me. I've never ssen so many fantastic models! The ability to share ideas and parts, swap parts, and gets tips on how to do stuff is great. Why would anybody go anywhere else?
  5. I ate too much! Hope everybody had a terrific Thanksgiving. We had a small ceremony to remember our present day troops, Veterans, and our still missing brothers before eating, and then we played God Bless the USA. It was good. Today I get to go and sign the papers for my new truck -2010 Nissan Frontier King Cab.
  6. Your whole setup looks real good. How about more pics of your builds? Welcome to the forum.
  7. Terry, The MAS website I have bookmarked is very old. Do you have a new site?
  8. That's one tip for the books. I'm going to try mixing different flocks in the future. Thanks.
  9. They should be offered with tires. How much are those puppies?
  10. How did you make the swoopy thing that covers what would been the back seat? I can't recall the proper name.
  11. That's really a neat idea with the flathead in a newer truck. The stepside box is a must with the engine.
  12. Somebody posted a while back about using tin foil from the grocery store and glue from Hobby Lobby. I have the supplies but haven't tried it yet. My biggest issue is that the glue says let it set for an hour before putting the foil on. I thin somebody also suggested to lay the glue on the back side of the foil and using a layer of waxed paper to preserve.
  13. Terrific job on the trailer. Welcome to the forum.
  14. I always those Samuri things and want to build one with huge tires and a bigger engine. Yours looks very well done.
  15. Looking very good. Love the colors and wheels.
  16. Back in the day some of my builds were entered in LHS contests and I was able to win some gold and ribbons. But I haven't been to or heard about a local contest in years. It doesn't matter to me anymore because I build for me and only me. Maybe I should try to sign up or volunteer to be a judge?
  17. Hope your tendon is healing. Thank you for the tutorials you've been doing. I never would have thought to use Future as a sealer. The woman part - bummer. I had a wife for 17 years. Came home from work one day and she was gone with most of the furniture - and my dog. The only thing she left was a pile of bills. I was able to get my dog back a few days later. Only saw her at the divorce proceedings and she wouldn't talk to me. That's been about 15 years now and I've gotten over it, moved on, and am a better persson for it. Take care of yourself.
  18. You did good Drew. Beautiful rendition of a classic hot rod.
  19. dwc43 - took your advise and bought another air regulator. First one from Advanced Auto but I didn't like it. Only a 1/4 turn closed to full open. It went back and I bought a Campbell Hausfield mini-regulator. I'm all set except to get some paint to put through the airbrush. That won't happen until after Veterans Day in Washington, DC.
  20. Hey Gary - thanks for the info. I went back to Lowe's this morning and didn't care for their regulator so I went to Tractor Supply and bought a Campbell Hausfield mini-regulator. It's all hooked up with no leaks. After Veterans Day in Washington, DC, I need to serious about buying paint and playing with the airbrush.
  21. Bought a 2 gallon Campbell Hausfield air compressor yesterday. It has an air regulator on it but I wanted something more precise inline. I bought a cheap one at Advanced Auto today and don't like it. I think I remember people saying they spray at 20psi and this thing is too touchy. Can anyone recommend a decent air regulator and a place to get it? Appreciate your help.
  22. Chris, Can you provide more assistance? I looked for a source for the Aoshima Kranze LXZ wheels and got a zero. Do you remember where you got them?
  23. DWC43 - I was going to try connecting it up today with a water filter. While I'm out getting parts, I think I'll take your advise and get another pressure regulator.
