  1. dwc43 - I sent a pm to you about the buggy. I'm not sure if it went through and don't know how to check if it did. If you didn't get it, let me know and I'll do it again.
  2. Rick, you going to do anything in 1/24 or 1/25 scale?
  3. That's very cool. Don't forget to roll uo the windows before washing the coupe.
  4. Pets. I've always been a dog person until I met Marcia (now my wife). She had 2 cats - Midas & Sabrina. Midas got sick and had to be put to sleep before we came to FLA. Sabrinaa made the trip and loved it down here. She was never allowed out of the house up north, but down here we let her out into the screened lanai. She loved it! She chased lizards, took sips of water from the pool, and just lounged in the sun. She had it good. Her liver went and we had to put her to sleep July 2008. Like I said, I'm a dog person, but I cried like a baby when the vet gave Sabrina the final injection. People who have never had critters can't understand how a person can get so close to a pet. My heart reaches out to you Bill.
  5. Paint on the body? No way! I still use rattle cans but am trying to wean myself off and move over to an airbrush. Check out Donn Yost's DVD "The Art of Airbrushing Show Quality Models Cars". www.oldmansmodels.com There's also somebody on this forum that has them for $23.00. Terrific video! Several people have posts about painting - do a search in the Tips & Techniques section.
  6. Mark, I primer the body no matter what type of paint is used for the final color. I wet sand the parts, prime, and wet sand again with a finer grade of paper.
  7. Welcome to the forum Tom. I'm not the greatest painter around but I'll try to help. I try real hard to NOT use Testors spray enamels. I've been using Testors one coat laqcuers with success. I prime my parts with sandable primer by Plasti coat first. To get your prior paint off use Purple Power that's available at Wal-Mart or Advanced Auto Parts. You'll often hear about "the purple pond" which refers to using Purple Power. There's plenty of help here from much better informed people than me.
  8. Thanks Donn. I don't think paint storage was covered in your excellent video. I'll have to watch it again.
  9. I have to start airbrushing too! I was wondering about storing the paint. If I were to thin nail polish with laqcuer thinner and didn't use all of the mix painting a model, how should the excess paint be stored?
  10. Welcome to the forum. I like the tailgate on that green one - the interior looks terrific too! How low can you go?
  11. That was me that mentioned the purple pond. I'm going to do thinned Elmer's glue on the dice.
  12. Anytime I've touched paint to flocking the paint just flows into the flocking. I think the dots have to be done first. The Fiats are in the purple pond.
  13. I'm thinking of drilling the holes, attaching a wire or string, and then trying trying some Fuzzi Fur (flocking) on them. Hopefully they'll look like the fussy dice of olden days.
  14. Oh Nick replied. That's probably where I got confused, but remembered that I saw the 2 together. Thanks for getting me straight. I thought we're supposed to keep our language clean here. You used that 4 letter word (cold white stuff from the sky). Supposed to be sunny and 75 down here on the central left coast of FLA.
  15. Yo Lyn. It was great seeing you and your Mom yesterday. Hopefully we made some progress. Your collection has certainly dwindled since the last trip. Terry was amazed! We both had a great time and are looking forward to the next trip.
  16. Didn't Nick Winters post that '57 Chevy as his build?
  17. DWC43 - you can buy the Empi Imp shown in my avatar. I can provide specifics if you're really interested.
  18. That UFC stuff and the like is too violent. I like the fake stuff on WWE. I wondered what happened to Lashley. Didn't like Lesner. The diverticulitis is no big deal. The VA cut my throat open a few months ago to do the needed repairs. I'll go with Santa taking down the pumpkin in the 3rd round - unless the Easter Bunny interferes.
  19. fedEx dropped off the Extang full tilt tonneau I ordered for my new truck. It wasn't supposed to be here until Monday. Already installed it. Dual exhaust goes on Tuesday. Hopefully the graphics will be here next week and then I can post some pics.
  20. I didn't get it yet because I just ordered it online - a Carney Plastics 21 car display case. Merry Christmas to me. Merry Christmas to me. Merry Christmas to meeeeeeeeeeee. Merry Christmas to me. (supposed to sing to the tune of Happy Birthday to You). My wife is actually going to pay for it though.
  21. I never argue politics or religion. Can't win at either, so why try? I think we're having fun and it's a relief from dusting and cleaning the bathrooms. The windows in my truck need cleaning before going to the Round 2 Model Car Storage event in the morning. I'm just one of those people who still believes in fantasy - Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Great Pumpkin, and PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! A couple of years ago I met The Animal, Dave Batista, in the Washington-Reagan National Airport. We talked for a few minutes. What a nice guy. Nice until he gets in the ring against the Undertaker. Okay. Okay. I'm going to clean the truck windows. PS - we're having fun, aren't we?
  22. You gotta be kiddin' me!! There's no Santa Claus? I believe in Santa. And even saw the movie that proved it - Miracle on 34th Street. What about the Easter Bunny? Come on, you gotta believe in something. How about God? Nobody I know has ever seen Him but there's a ton of people who believe in Him.
  23. I was channel surfing yesterday and there it was - ECTO 1A - right on the TV set. It's still raining here after 2 1/4" rain yesterday. Now the grass is going to grow and need to be cut. But that means the reindeer will have to be moved before cutting. And then moved back. The heck with it - I'm going to Daytona!
  24. The Lindberg '35 Auburn isn't the greatest kit around. The 2 piece body and 2 piece rear fenders annoyed me but I liked the body style - but changed it. I used 23" Pegasus Ts, Chevy 409. NExt time I get one I'm going to cut the grill out of the shell and replace with something else.
  25. Nice looking El Camino. Where's the boat? DWC43 -the dune buggy appears to be an EMPI IMP, if that helps.
