  1. Since my first Social Security check should be here in a couple of months, I decided to start spending it. Went to Lowe's and bought a 2 Campbell/Hausfield 2 gallon air compressor and it had a nail gun too! I want the compressor to sit on my paint cart/booth but be portable to be able to inflate tires, etc.
  2. Use a bathroom exhaust fan. I modeled my booth after the larger Pace unit.
  3. That's one sweet looking ride. Very nice. What kind of wheels are those?
  4. I disagree with you harry about the "phone wire". It's too big for ignition wire and is better suited to strip the wire out and use the coating for wiring boots. The aftermarket colored ignition fit very nicely inside the "boot". The coatings can also be used for fuel line fittings.
  5. Screen doors? How cool!! Love the roof panel and the seats are a terrific idea. What material did you use for all of it?
  6. I use a lot of Pegasus wheel/tie combos ($10.00) and their disc brakes ($4.00) so twice the money seems stiff. But the wheels look good. Isn't shipping expensive? Maaybe I need to take another look.
  7. I bought a Wahl battery sander a few years ago and then bought their electric sander. Both work great and have different grits of paper that can be attached as well as some files.
  8. Kinda pricey for me - $30.00 for a set of wheels/tires.
  9. I like how you molded the hood sides and fenders to the body and love your diorama. Did you use faux paint on the seats?
  10. What a bummer! I had to go to Chciago for a Veterans meeting and stopped in at Royal Hobby Shop in Rockford where I bought a couple of kits and MCM mag. I was reading MCM and saw that there was the ihobby thing going on, but it was too late for me to get there.
  11. Sorry Harry. If you tell me how, I'll delete the post. I wasn't trying upset you or anyone.
  12. Sorry if this sin't model related, but I wanted to share pics of the 9th Vietnam Veterans Gathering with my fellow modelers and Veterans. http://vvg9.wordpress.com/
  13. I'm not impressed. I like the MCM Forum much better.
  14. Hey guys, sorry but I don't know you're talking about. I normally don't build "metric" kits but I love the lines of that Skyline car. The cooler & plumbing don't matter to me because there'd be some Detroit muscle under the hood and some large meat at each corner. I didn't buy the AMT Part Pack and 8 Revell engines for nothing you know. All I want to do is get is a Skyline or whatever number it is, with the steering wheel on the left side where it belongs. I'll keep reading what you guys come up with. Yo Dave - you had another post about a surf kit and I asked about the pics but never got an answer. If you get a chance could you look at the post and let me know? Appreciate it.
  15. Do either of those kits have left hand drive?
  16. Very nice. I didn't know there were still slot car tracks around. Back in my day the bodies were all clear plastic and we had to paint the inside in the body. I used to run a '40 Willys with a dynojet?? motor. The motor was cylinder shaped.
  17. Lyn - we'll make it through and I'll get pics to you. Marcia will post on our website after the event. http://vvg9.wordpress.com/ Justin - Semper Fi, Brother.
  18. Thanks Lyn. Look at the first pic - the Chevy Bowtie in the center of the grille is painted like the Vietnam Service Ribbon. The Wall won't be here until Thursday but I spent the day try ing to get ready. Built and painted a Field Cross complete with and M-16 replica, boots and helmet. Have to pick up copies of 3000 flyers in the morning andd cut down 50 pieces of electrical conduit for flagpoles. How was the hobby show today?
  19. Oh take me back to high school, that Goat looks good.
  20. Zoom Zoom - Bob Downie said it the best as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Yo B-Rad, Bare Metal Foil comes in BLACK Chrome too. I've used it on several models. I found out early that you doun't want to hit it with any polishing compound or wax - the black rubs off.
  22. Nigel - Testor's rattle can something Maroon (not Honduras maroon) with a coat of Tamiya clear and Model Car Wax.
