I have a feeling they were striving for accuracy because the subject matter is attractive to a very critical audience (age group) who for the most part won't be happy with a sub-par effort.

What kind of hood? To fit what kit?

Just thought I'd share some of the cool old HO slot cars I have. I've had them a while- traded a bunch of Hot Wheels to a neighbor for a little cabinet with all these bodies, chassis, motors, parts, etc. I acquired some Tyco track, and played with them a bit, but burned one controller up and lost interest, so they've just been sitting in their little drawers. I did a little research on a few last nite, and I'm guessing these I have aren't terribly rare, but they're still cool, and I like that most are about as old as I am (~30... I'm 28). I'm just gonna post the link up instead of embedding a bunch of pics. http://public.fotki.com/chevelle350/models-art/slotcars/ Anybody else have some old HO stuff, post it up!

Yeah, what they all said... Looks good!

It's a vicious cycle... There's never much on there, so people forget about it, and since people have forgotten about it, there's still not much on there.

Or if you have a shop near you, you could go take your own photos and get a feel for the size and layout of it.

What he means is the new version kits. When they make the molds for the kit, they call it "tooling it up" or some form of the verb "tool", so a newer kit is considered a "new tool" compared to an old kit, or a modified version of an old kit.

Revell '68 Corvettes (Baldwin-Motion/road race), '67 Corvette, and '69 Camaros (Baldwin-Motion/Yenko) come to mind as being nice big blocks. -

Here's my '99 Silverado, daily driver, 5.3L/Auto. It just turned 200,000 miles last week. I've had it for about 8 years. It had quite a few less miles on it when I took this pic... Here's the weekend toy, my '91 Mustang LX 5.0/T-5 5spd. It's a fun little car. More stock than not, so it's not terribly fast, but fun. Here's a pic of the garage dweller, my '70 Chevelle Malibu, 350/700R4 that I've had for about 13 years now. It was my daily in high school, began sitting while I was in college, and now it needs a lot of work. -
http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32561&view=findpost&p=324935 I showed how I made a set of headers in that thread. As soon as Fotki gets their problem fixed, the pictures should be back up (I hope). Hope this helps.

Reliable Resin : COMING SOON
Eric Stone replied to Reliable Resin's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Re: eBay's messaging system- Each time I sent a message, I got the following reply: "Dear e******, Please send all questions directly to > ReliableResin@aol.com < as requested in auctions text Thanks De' Mottz - got_de_mottz" They came back to me almost immediately, so fast that I thought that they were automated replies. If they're automated, then in my opinion he's not properly minding the shop. If he typed each one, then he types faster than he lets on, and could've just as easily answered my questions than send that reply. I've been aware of his site for quite some time, although I've never dealt with him before in any way. I chose to (attempt to) deal with him on eBay instead of his site, and found that for whatever reason, it ain't gonna work, so he ain't gonna get any of my money. No loss here. No "beef", no agenda, nothing personal, Don. -
Reliable Resin : COMING SOON

I thought I explained that already in my previous two posts. It's possible that you don't recall because you wouldn't respond to repeated inquiries about an item. Then for whatever reason, I was blocked from being able to purchase another item, according to the message that showed up when I attempted to place a bid like I've done so many other times on other sellers' items. (They were more than happy to accept my money). Seems odd that you ignored two or three questions from me, then I was blocked from bidding on your stuff. Not a good way to get customers, I must say. I've got no "beef" with you, I'm just trying to figure out how you do your thing on eBay when you don't answer questions or allow people to bid, that's all. Sure it is... It's a forum, a place where people gather to communicate. Thanks for yet another invitation to email you, but I'll pass. I'm done. -

The eBay system is also full of people willing to spend money, and let's face it, that's why you list your stuff there in the first place. I would have to disagree with you- you insist people email you because you refuse to answer questions sent to you on eBay. Each time I sent a question, it was responded to with a message instructing me to email you directly at your AOL address. I'd also like to know why you have certain bidders (that you've never dealt with before) blocked from bidding or buying your stuff. -
Ooh, that lil orange track-nosed roadster is pretty!

The Revell-Monogram '67 Vette roadster with the 427 in it has a nice tri-power setup you could hack up too.

Why do you always insist people email you directly, even on your eBay auctions, when there is a way of messaging built into the eBay system? -
I hadn't seen this thread before. This is looking like a cool little build. The stance and shape of the body are showing some attitude. What are you going to use for a grille shell? A track nose might look cool.

Looking mean. Should look good when it's done!

So once the legal matter is resolved, will they be available? Guess I'm asking if I should try to buy one soon...
