Crew cab GMC Syclone.
Eric Stone replied to Jared Roach's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's looking great, Jared. Coming along nicely. -
Wouldn't it have been faster to drive a car past the Chevy dealership? Oh, I slay me...

Fox Chassis (Ford) community build anyone?
Eric Stone replied to whale392's topic in Community Builds
Jason, if you decide to make copies of the coupe, or just the LX nose, you've got some interested people here, I'm sure. I know I'd be interested in a couple at least. Looks good. -
Lower the 66 Nova Pro Street
Eric Stone replied to cherokeered's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
On my stock '66 Nova, the spindles are meant to be in the higher sitting position, so flipping them should work. -
AMT 71 Duster quarter windows
Eric Stone replied to spkgibson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know (IMO) my '70 Chevelle looked better with its quarter windows down. They made such a difference in airflow that the car usually either had all windows up, or all windows down when I was driving it. -
still cool to join?
Eric Stone replied to auroramike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't remember kit manufacturers being a challenge question, but it's been a while since I signed up. Might be a new anti-spammer feature. Don't let the rules scare ya off. This is a good place. Welcome! -
I've had the same feeling at times, Terry, and in that case I usually don't say anything. The kneejerk reaction to the criticism is to say "I build for me and I like it", which may be true, but I know I build for me, and I want to better my builds. You never know how others will react. I guess I'm more likely to offer tips once a discussion about the flaws has begun, but I'd hate to be the one to initially bring it up and upset someone. Also, you don't always know who you're talking to, or what their experience level is. We don't all build amazing models, and one guy's glue-bombed nightmare could be a kid's masterpiece that is deserving of praise and encouragement. I don't believe in the whole "everybody who plays is a winner and gets a trophy" mentality, but the criticism should be appropriate for the builder.

Burn Baby Burn
Eric Stone replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yup, that's what I was referring to... And calm down, guys I never said they all catch on fire... -
Very pretty, in an aggressive non-English kinda way. Seriously, I really do like it.

Burn Baby Burn
Eric Stone replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mike, what kind of inspection? What do you do? Cranky, you'd be pretty accurate to build a burnt up 80s to current F150... I see or hear about those catching fire a lot. -

MIcheals Clearence
Eric Stone replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The stores around here have had some stuff on clearance lately, but nothing that new. I guess I'll have to keep popping in to see what they've got. Thanks for the heads up. -
How about an Ugly car contest?
Eric Stone replied to Modelmartin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I actually said something out loud that I can't type here when I saw that primer thing with the Vette tail. -
Rex White 58 Chevy
Eric Stone replied to MarkJ's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Hey, Mark. Good to see you post again. Great looking car! The black over black wheels looks mean! -
This one's pretty tame by comparison... Next door to where a buddy of mine used to live. And to back up my reply to Mike, here's a 99-04 Mustang with a Charger front clip added on. And an 05-09 Mustang GT with a '68 Shelby nose. The troubling thing about this, besides how horrible it looks, is that they offer kits for this. Yup, someone is mass producing this...

Looks like the Revell GT500... What's the chassis?

need some help with my new foxbody
Eric Stone replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Fox market is healthy around here... There are quite a few junky cars floating around for $1500 or less, some slightly rough around the edges cars going up to around $5000, and then you start finding clean ones for over $5000 and immaculate or very highly modded/built pushing $10k or more. I paid $7000 for mine after a few months of searching and not finding anything worth spending my money on. When I bought it, it had 65,9XX miles. It's an original 5.0/5spd, original paint, interior, wheels, etc, and had working AC at the time (but it has since gone out). It already had a few of the more expensive "cheap" mods- Cobra intake, 3.73 gear, exhaust, shifter, springs, shocks/struts. I've done a few more minor things, but it remains mostly stock, and is loads of fun. Jeff, whatever you decide to do, it comes down to it being your car. Just enjoy it! -
Real name concerns
Eric Stone replied to trogdor's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gregg, I'm just wondering out loud here: How are you able to produce a magazine with all the babysitting you have to do on the side? -
need some help with my new foxbody
Eric Stone replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That interior looks too clean to mess with! My line of thinking is, if you want a 4-eye car, then want to upgrade to an EFI engine, newer interior, and swap sheetmetal, then you should've bought an 87-93 in the first place, as it would be cheaper in the long run anyway. That's a great lookin lil coupe, Jeff, red interior and all. That thing should be lots of fun with a 5.0/5spd swap. -
FaceBook how do we use it?
Eric Stone replied to Len Woodruff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)

Black is beautiful! Here's mine. I PM'ed you about the email account for FEP. -
Sports participants and fans live for rules. That's the nature of sports. Modelers are creative, do their own thing, and stray from using the instructions, so it's no surprise they're more unruly.
