  1. Eh, I was a weather-related (among other things) no show to my local club's last meeting at the end of July. Got stuck in some bad traffic because of a wreck, truck overheated, had to walk in the rain, almost missed a doc appointment, had to go to the pharmacy, got my order messed up at Sonic... By the time I got home, I wasn't leaving... It happens sometimes.
  2. It's dirty... Looks pretty good for a snapper. I like the Zakk avatar and the Lamb of God quote too.
  3. It's not a bad kit, it's just not a good kit...
  4. Oh, you know what, I think I'm wrong- the cheapie kits I'm thinking of aren't Airfix, they're Starfix.

  6. Is it an Airfix kit? I have one of those, in a black box with a pic of the built kit on it. 1/72 scale, very basic... I found a few at a dollar store somewhere once, had 1/72 Mustang, Zero, A4 Skyhawk, T38, and 1/48 Spitfire and ME109, can't remember if there were any others. I started messing with the Mustang for the race plane build, and have planned on doing the T38 as one of the NASA planes I see flying around here on a regular basis. I hadn't thought of doing a LSR car out of one... Cool idea. I like it.
  7. Looks like a Nascar body. Are you wanting to make a street car out of it?
  8. I'm not sure about the answers to your questions, but I've had luck searching Google Images for exhaust installs because the photos usually show the bottom of the car.
  9. And since that pan is 1/25, it oughta work on the MPC Mustangs too. I didn't measure, but the Revell '32 Ford piece looks a little bigger than the AMT '95 Cobra pan.
  10. Actually put together a few things to copy- two sets of resin drag wheels, a couple of mis-matched M/T valve covers (so I can make copies and have complete sets), and that SBF double sump oil pan from the '32 Ford kit. I get ready to get into my resin stuff to pour the mold, and find out that something had leaked, basically glued the box shut, and that the RTV had separated and its respective portions had solidified. Yeah, the stuff had been sitting a while... Guess now's my chance to get some nicer resin stuff from Texas Art Supply instead of the Alumilite from Hobby Lobby like I had used before. Had been planning on new stuff anyway, since the Alumilite resin has such a short working time and wouldn't have worked in my pressure pot.
  11. Thanks for reminding me- I have one I plan on casting copies of to try out. Might not be 100% to scale, but it oughta work.
  12. So.. What brought this on- just general occasional misuse of the terms, or is there a particular incident?
  13. Jason, got my package today. Thanks! Let me know if you need anything.
  14. Yeah, Bradley, progress is looking good. I haven't touched any Fox builds lately, because I'm trying to get my Nova build done for a contest coming up. Slow going there...
  15. I don't have a pic, but I've used some Duplicolor metallic paint, like Steve suggested, and brushed on some acrylic flat clear. While the clear was still wet, I "hammered" it with an old toothbrush, so that there was a slight stippling effect with the toothbrush bristles. It came out good, better than the straight brushed-on flat did. I should've sprayed the flat, I guess, but it seemed like brushing was easier at the time.
  16. I think this one is my favorite. I like the character it has, and I like the accomplishments that were firsts for me, especially the chopped top. It has been my most challenging build so far, but I think the Chevy II I'm working on now with its scratchbuilt items will surpass the truck in that aspect. I even had a dream I was driving this truck once.
  17. It is a photo sharing site, but look at this album of "photos", should get you what you need- http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/mas-resin-price-lis/current-ly-availabl/
  18. Mine are just on the shelves behind the glass doors of my entertainment center. Light is low, so visibility sucks, but anyone here interested in looking at them gets the 'grand tour' as I take them out for a better look, and I've seen em before, so I'm not too worried about the light. I won't say they're dust free, but they are MUCH cleaner than any that have been on an open shelf.
  19. The Hornet and 300 both look very nice. I hope to have at least one of each on my bench one day.
  20. Because that's what you do here... But really, camaraderie, sharing of information, trading, a little showing off... nothing that hasn't already been mentioned.
  21. I used lacquer thinner on one I just stripped. I soaked it for a bit, then went after it with a brass bristle wire brush. Came out really clean, but there were some serious mold lines to clean up... Chevelle is looking good. I like the color.
  22. I only counted two "great paint" comments. The others talked about the colors, but not necessarily the finish. I wonder if all of the paint related comments were meant to describe the colors, and not necessarily the finish itself. It is a good looking car, with some orange peel... like you'd find on one of my builds.
  23. Some good looking clean builds, Michelle. I like em! Keep up the good work.
  24. Good job.
