Should be cool! -
The GT-R wishes it was that attractive. Looking good so far. I like it in orange, even if it's not.

Looks like a bone stock 69-70 Shelby hood, with a hole cut in it to clear the carbs... Here's an ex-gf of mine's '70 GT500.

The Revell Subaru WRX has tires with an ID of 20mm, overall width of 9mm, and a sidewall of about 2.5mm - 3mm. The Revell '70 Firebird 2n1 has an offset set of tires with an ID of 21.5mm, width of 11mm, and sidewall of about 3mm for the rears, and ID of 20mm, width of 10.5mm, and sidewall of 3mm for the fronts. ..for what that's worth. Not sure what else I have that could be close.

I got a couple Stevens Int'l reissues- AMT 27 T Police Car kit, and Mount 'N Goat Jeep Commando at Tuesday Morning for $9.99 each. They also had a Lil Mixer show rod that I didn't get.

Hey that thing looks pretty good in yellow/orange... I have that kit, and had assumed I'd do it in the actual silver and gray, but now I'm considering a bright color.

It's clear by reading this thread that if the buyers have to wait 6 months or more, no matter what they're told, then he'll find himself without repeat customers.

I have some 275/50/15 Nitto 555R drag radials on the Mustang. I can take measurements and photos for you as well.

CHALLENGE to Jairus, Harry and whoever
Eric Stone replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Soo... Get a 60's Charger. I don't understand why so many people feel that retro styling is so important. Those cars in the 60's weren't styled after the 30's cars, they were 60's cars- Cutting edge, modern. Why so many people now-a-days are so hesitant to appreciate anything all new and rely on recreating and reinvitorating old car designs, movies, sitcoms, I don't know. -
I won't be building models for a while

I've noticed a lot of train stuff on clearance at the few stores I stop at around here, kinda wondered about that... -

I hope those changes are chain-wide. Like others have mentioned here, I've seen a few more things than normal on clearance the past couple of weeks, and I guess I assumed the worst- that they were cutting inventory, but somebody pointed out that they could be making room for new kits. Hope that's the case! -
I'd be interested if the price was right and the product was good. I know that's a gaping hole in the aftermarket, because the only drag radials I can think of are the old Goodyear Blue Streaks in the AMT kits, which I've never seen in 1:1 on anything. Usually any 1:1 I see on drag radials is on Mickey Thompsons or Nittos, with the occasional BFG thrown in.

Despite the fit problems, it looks alright. Are those Chrysler 300 wheels? I don't think the ones I've been messing with have had any problems with the rear bumper, but I've been worried about the front. I don't like the kit, but I love the car. I have a feeling these Polar Lights/AMT kits will be the only ones we'll get of this car, unless there's one out there I've missed. Like them or not, these GTOs are great performers, and IMO good looking cars. Bart, I like the Pontiac Rallye wheels on yours too.

Best Dullcoat for tires??
Eric Stone replied to Bluzboy66's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For just knocking the sheen off the sidewalls, I've heard wiping them down with lacquer thinner or acetone works. I've only done it once, and it worked ok. -
Flocking from the scrapbooking section
Eric Stone replied to Darren B's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The fibers in the Martha Stewart stuff seem a little 'long'. It doesn't look as good as the Plaid Soft Flock brand that used to be out (since discontinued). You'll have to follow up with how that stuff looks once you've used it. I'll have to go find some... I had found some flocking in little jars at Hobby Lobby, but it was expensive, and in colors I'd probably never use. -
The styling issues the 04 GTO had were fixed with the 05, IMO. Adding a few extra cubes and 50hp sure helped too. The G8GT is nice... Sure wish they'd offered the 6spd on the GT, and not just the GXP. I'd love to have a GXP... Highest horsepower ever offered by Pontiac, BTW.

I want an Impulse Blue '05-06, 6spd, blue interior, factory 18" wheels, with a spoiler delete.

Doesn't surprise me, to be honest. I'm actually surprised they're still around. I'm still bitter that GM kept Buick and killed Pontiac. It sucks when any car company goes away (except maybe Yugo), but to me, Pontiac had cooler models and more style than Buick in recent years. I'm not sure where Mercury stands in the world these days. I think a lot of could-be Mercury buyers are probably driving Lexus/Infinity/Acura cars instead of Mercury/Buick/Chrysler.

What is the point of the "Quick Reply" option?
Eric Stone replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't see "quick reply", just "Reply" on your post, and "Add Reply" at the bottom. The Reply button on your post will allow me to quote your post in my reply, and the Add Reply just replies to the thread without referencing any one post in particular. Maybe I have to change the skin on the forum to see the "quick reply" button..?
