  1. I like that! Looks very good.
  2. Ditto. This one's on my 'want' list. I'll be keeping an eye on the rebuilding.
  3. Yeah, I wish I had brought my 41 Willys, but (STUPIDLY) I figured it would be way outclassed by a bunch of nicer stuff, and left it at home. Next time, I'll just bring whatever I have and not worry about what else will be there.
  4. It took first in Customs, and the Mustang took second in Street Machines 1949 and up, or whatever that class was called. Your funnycar won Comp. Straight Line... Of course it was the only one, but I think it would've won or placed if there were 50 cars with it. It looked good.
  5. Heya Shane, great to meet you too, wish you could've hung out longer. I enjoyed seeing your Hollish Bros build in person, as well as the funny car. Good shot of my truck there, thanks. I had a good time too, Matt, thanks for the hospitality. I snagged a few old Fox Mustang kits for a good deal. Also enjoyed the gumbo. Yummy!
  6. Well since the rest of the thread is concerning chassis components.......
  7. Re-read Mike's post that James replied to.
  8. Those front wheels look like they're actually supposed to be the back sides of another wheel.
  9. I got a Monogram 1:24 '85 Ford Mustang SVO, AMT 1:25 '91 Pontiac Firebird GTA, and an AMT 1:25 '95 Ford Mustang Cobra today from eBay.
  10. No, the pics I just pulled up show what looks to be a Whipple on the Super Snake. The Lightning, 03/04 Cobra, and 07-09 GT500s have Eaton blowers. I'm not sure what the KR has, either an Eaton or Whipple. The Kenne Bell would be easiest to make in scale, I think. It has a smoother case, with small grooves in it, instead of the heavy ribbed shape of the Eatons and Whipples.
  11. Mine was 2WD, but I'm sure it was available on a 4x4 as well.
  12. Good question. I'd imagine it would be easier with a hollow tire, and some heat, but I haven't really tried it. The slicks don't have to look too low, but generally they run low air pressure in real life. Sanding a flat spot onto the bottom of the tread would probably help a little. I'd just look at the tires you have, compare them to pics of something similar in 1:1, and see what needs to be done.
  13. Easy- four wheel drive- lift it and offroad. Two wheel drive- V8 swap and go fast.
  14. Sorry fellas, but there IS an S10 Tahoe. Remember, it's a TRIM PACKAGE, not a MODEL DESIGNATION. The S10 Tahoe is in no way related to the Chevy Tahoe SUV, other than both being built by Chevrolet. I don't know if the Tahoe trim package was available on an S10 Blazer or not since I've never owned one, but I did own a 93 S10 Tahoe pickup for two years. It had a Tahoe badge on the dash, I think on the tailgate, and the package was mentioned on the original window sticker that was in the glove box.
  15. Revell Mustang special editon kit? I've been toying with the idea of making a Kenne Bell for a Revell Shelby GT500, but haven't actually started any work on it yet. It looks like it would be the simplest to make.
  16. Wow, imagine that!
  17. I broke an end link a while back, bought some new ones, they wouldn't quite fit, so the front sway bar has been unhooked for a while, still on the car. It seems to help a little. I think it'll help a lot when I get the Drag Launch springs installed up front (to match the ones already on the back) and the adjustable struts so I can set it up like 90/10s and 50/50s F & R for the track, then dial it back in to be a little stiffer for the ride home. These cars are fun, aren't they??
  18. I had a '93 S10 Tahoe for a couple of years. 4.3L V6, Auto, reg cab, long bed, hunter green, gray interior. I put exhaust and 15" '94 S10 wheels on it, and fixed a few minor things that were wrong when I got it. It was a great little truck, just too small inside- had a bench seat but was still effectively a two-seater. I wouldn't ever trade my Silverado for it back, but I kinda miss it from time to time.
  19. That story makes me smile. Good job.
  20. Man, I like that! Very clean, nice wheels, great color.
  21. I didn't say in my first reply, but its profile looks like some type of Saturday night asphalt circle track racer.
  22. Looks pretty dang good for a self-proclaimed novice. Came out pretty clean. How'd your buddy's dad like it?
  23. It sounds like a horrible idea, but ya know, it doesn't look too bad.
  24. You won't see the wrinkled rotation unless the car is initially launching at the line. Sitting still, the sidewalls will just look like a low tire. At speed, they'll balloon out a little and have smooth sidewalls. If you're building it with a figure and posing it as it's launching, then the 'rotating' wrinkle wall slicks are fine, but if it's just sitting, it will look silly.
  25. Well I went to Fry's today, and they only had red, blue, and green wrapping wire. I'll have to find some other places to check besides there or Radio Shack I guess. I don't do the pre-wired stuff because they're $5 - $6... For $8 I have a spool of wire that'll last me a lifetime, and it's not that hard to drill out the distributor cap to do it myself.
