  1. Where's everyone's sense of humor? I voted science fiction. I still wanna see how that thing will take a turn on track at speed...
  2. Looks pretty good. If you do any more Foxes and want some detailed reference shots for 87-93's, let me know and I can go out in the garage and shoot some for you, or provide you with some I've already saved. Whale392 could probably hook you up with some four-eye detail shots, since he has some 1:1s...
  3. So, Dan, you never did tell us what kit actually has the best slapper bars...
  4. Looks good!
  5. Somebody PM caine440 and ask him where his Volare came from. I dunno if there was ever a kit or not, but he just finished a very nice Volare pro stock.
  6. Matthew, That has always worked better for me than the old grid method they taught us in art class in grade school. Seems odd to have to use a calculator to help draw, but it works. Here's one I did that way from two small (~3"x4") photos I printed off the web.
  7. The plug wires look much better! Interior looks good too. Still watchin this one progress....
  8. That might go hand in hand... We all know what they cost at the LHS, so when we find them somewhere for half that, we buy em up. We don't have Fred Meyers in Texas...
  9. Plus you can get them in Spiderman, SpongeBob.... Wow, the possibilities are endless!
  10. Welcome to the site! Stick around, let's see some of your work.
  11. You've totally missed the point, dude... You're interpreting the questions as some kind of personal attack on Dave. I'm actually pretty curious about the chroming system and the airbrush he invented also, and would like to know more about it too.
  12. If not, then how bout this- My dad was only 12 years old in '62...
  13. I just pull the blade out of my Xacto and chuck the little bits in there.
  14. Looks good, Shane. I enjoyed following it from start to finish. Can't wait to see what's next!
  15. Thanks Chris and Drodg for the suggestions. Sorry, Monty, for partially hijacking your thread! Didn't mean to...
  16. Dude! The FIRST of MARCH?? That's like, FIVE days from today! That's cool, man. Do what you gotta do. When my kit shows up, I'll just rip the plastic off it, dig through it a few times, then stick it in the closet to wait to be built, so it won't matter if I do that this week or next.
  17. Looks good- I like it!
  18. I've had luck printing out a photo, then figuring out how much bigger it's going to be on the drawing to find a factor to multiply by, then measuring the photo with a ruler or caliper and multiplying that number to get the bigger size. That prevents me from getting too far along and realizing I've got one area that's out of scale. It's kind of a backup to my eye, because as I go along, I tend to sketch things in, and if I measure them and check it, I often find it's about right.
  19. I think I used paper towel on this one, but I don't remember... I don't remember if I cut it before gluing it in, or if I glued it into the recesses and trimmed around it, but either way might work. I used white glue. If you find a method isn't working, you can wash off with water and try again. I painted it flat black after the glue dried. The underhood structure should be less glossy, but I only had flat and gloss black paint at the time...
  20. That's looking good so far!
  21. Yeah, talk about dead threads!
  22. I've used Testors steel as a base coat with flat black, and rust dry brushed over it to achieve what I think looks like a used exhaust manifold. It may take several layers with the black and rust to make it look right.
  23. I've also used a short piece of guitar string for a hood prop rod. I was lazy, and didn't bend it to shape, but I don't think it would be hard to bend it to the right shape as the 1:1 hood prop.
  24. Got a pic with a little more light? I'm looking for a color close to Ford 1993 Cobra 'Teal'. The color in that pic looks pretty dark.
