  1. Thank you Raul.. I'd realised after getting all the hardware in the tail end that I hadn't installed the sway bar.... A bit of consultation with a couple of mates has made my mind up to leave it off...it is afterall, a straight-liner..... More soon guys Greg
  2. Thanks guys.. Got a little more done this weekend...not enough, but some..... Decided to throw some Gabriel Hi-Jacker shocks under her. I made them to Baldwin specs., as Baldwin may have ordered them.... These are the kit shocks, I cut them in two, removed approx 1/8 inch and used a cotton bud (Q-tip) to make a sleeve. It fits over the fattest part perfectly. It also allows you to adjust the height you want when installing them. Here they are, just prior to "bolting" them in. I've just used some RB Motion nuts and bolts for the first time..only fitting that they go on a Motion car.... More soon guys. The trip so far....
  3. Sweet looking motor.. I'd leave them natural, looks great already.
  4. Jeff, absolutely gorgeous build mate. More inspiration for me... You've probably already told us, but where did you source the wheel/tyre combo from ?? They look awesome... For me, that would be the single most important addition Revell could make with coming issues/versions...throw in some dog-dish and steel wheels...(please Mr. Revell...) Cheers mate Greg
  5. Just a small update on this one, plus a very very easy "how to" lowered front suspension idea... Did some more paint detailing on the chassis, overspray etc..black and yellow. Run a fuel line from a pair of fuel tank mounted pumps, right to the front where it will join the motor mounted fuel pump. Have added a small bracket to either side to attach e-brake cables too. Testing for clearance of those monster M/T's....I do love the look these tyres give.... 12-bolt resin rear from Perry's Resin. I drilled it through and made an axle tube from brass tube to allow easy fitment of the wheels/brakes I wanted to use....The brake drums are off an old Amt Stude, I made up the backing plates and added brake lines to it all.. This is all I did to the front end...I simply added new mounting points above the old positions. Also thinned the wheel back, as I'm using slightly wider, 15" tyres....just wanted to be sure the tyres wouldn't rub the guards. The guards have been "lipped" and thinned as well.... By trimming the original wheel mount a little more (or less) the height can be varied quite easily.... This is the stance I've been hoping to get....nose down, slight rake......70's Muscle....... Should have some more soon guys...Interior is almost all there...need to detail the dash and add belts..... The build so far...... Thanks for dropping by cheers Greg
  6. Hot dawg....... Rob, you pulled this one off 110% man......GREAT build. Looks absolutely fan-******-tastic. Ok....so I'm gonna try these tiny wires in the engine room, I just love that detail you've added there mate. (don't know that it'll match yours though....) Mine is cleared, interior 85% done...chassis 75% done.....should be ready in another couple of months...... Maybe the next one (two or four) you buy will be the newly tooled chassis version, I hope so man. Thank you for all your help and inspiration too Rob. cheers Greg
  7. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Cheers Marc. I'd guessed it was too good to be true, but the dream was good while it lasted....
  8. So......when ya gonna come downunda Gregg......? I'll throw a carrot in front of you now (edit: make that a JD) and give you an official invite to one of out biggest Shows/Comps on our sacred soil...The QMHE which is in August each year. We don't get a huge turnout in autos, but the quality makes up for quantity....
  9. **POP**....(sound of my bubble bursting) Thanks for the heads-up Bud. I'd guessed (but was trying to think positive) that may be the case... They (diecast) pretty much have all the Drag subjects tied up, hey............... I'll hold out.....I'm off to the promised land.
  10. Kool, cheers Marc. Hope he may shed some light for us "who need to know".... Gasman, I'm with you on that one....I don't mind ol'skool....but I'd much prefer newer stuff... I got to thinking, a modern Pro Stock would be one of my first choices...but we know that'll probly never happen, cause of the diecast links... Then I thought...oh..maybe this is a diecast test shot....??
  11. ...... I was just going to post your pic in a thread Steve.. I'm wondering the same thing....with all the announcements we have seen, I think this one got missed.... Man, how long has it been for Drag racing fans.....the drought maybe over..... Look forward to finding out some more on this badboy.
  12. I've used a couple of them and so far, have been extremely happy. They are all one level, and do need to be trimmed very close as Steve said. They are also very thin, and you need to treat them carefully...I've blown a couple of smaller decals off, probably by trying to move them once on...as Dave said, they do tend to stick well "right now"..So be careful and re-wet them if necessary before trying to reposition them. You wont be disappointed, just go easy and take your time.
  13. G'day Gregg, Sorry to fire more Q's at ya.... Could you determine if the new 70 Challenger is 1/25 ?? Kinda hard to tell in pics, but it looks awfully similar to what Monogram originally had in 1/24.... It looks to be a 2in1 as well..? Or is there to be two versions available..? There is loads of kool stuff there, enough to satisfy the majority I'd think. The GT40 will be on my Santa list too.....can not wait to see that. Thanks for the great coverage big guy....hope you had one o' those JD's for me....if it's what I'm thinking it is....
  14. WOW..! Fantastic entrance you made there jürgen.. This Pro-Touring still hasn't fully grown on me yet.....but I'm changing my mind slowly...... Your Camaro looks most excellent. Welcome too, to one of the best places to share, grow, learn and meet some really great people..
  15. This is indeed good to hear.... Thank you Revell. Darn...I still need to convert the tank on the 4 I got in my stash.....oh well..it is a fairly easy fix I guess. (and one will be ProStreet, so wont be an issue.... ..)
  16. 48 here....for another 7-8 weeks...... Still enjoy building model kits, though I tend to try and modify them too much at times.... ..Have only ever built 1 kit "box stock" from memory.... My parents had mixed feeling, my Mum still does at times...though it was she who got me my first couple of kits.....all those years ago. Dad's only concern was that my building kept me up too late on school nights..... ..He got over it. I only have a couple of close mates who build models, most of the others still think we play with toys..... It wont stop me though.....
  17. Hey there George, Thanks mate. Psst....there's talk of resin gettin' involved.....don't tell anyone, ok...
  18. Hey guys, Thank you for all the kind words of encouragement.. Bill, Cheers man. Yes, I really pleased I chopped it up now...it has changed the overall character of it, for the better... I appreciate your thoughts and input mate.. Robert, Stay tuned...Resin has been talked of...... I've had word from one caster who is interested, if not him..I have a couple of other options..... Steve, Go for it......Inspiration is what got me here with this.... Mostly my mods are small and subtle, but sometimes it pays to try the "uncharacteristic".....Something off-beat. Thanks again guys, more soon. Greg
  19. Boring............boring us....................HELL NO. The contrast looks amazing Marcos.....I'm loving it very much... I do love that colour too...Looks brilliant. cheers Greg
  20. Well, the weather was kind enough for me for 3 days....s'pose I should show you'll what I got done.... First up, I wish to thank both Bill Geary and Ron Hamilton. It was these guys very valued and respected input (on this and another forum) which prompted me to try something very foreign to me..... I took to the Nova and hacked it up..... End result.......stretched roof. Tellya what......once I started, I was ready to glue it all back, as it was..... but, I couldn't turn back now, the damage was done...... I cut across the rear just forward of the rear window, about 6-7mm, down both C pillars to approx 2/3 down, the removed that section completely. The void was filled with some trusty styrene strips and bucket loads of putty..(or "bog" as most panel guys know it...) Once I had it built up to what I thought "looked" right, the section was glued pack on. New door handle recess' are also present and the old ones filled..(very rough) Late this arvo, I shot a very quik coat of primer on, just to hi-light the new panel lines etc.....I also took the liberty of removing the "fake" vents from the lower front fenders, being ever so careful not to hurt the script just above it... We started daylight saving down here over the weekend...so I have an extra hour of day light to play in the arvo now... I should get a fair bit done this week, so hopefully the next update will be not too far away.... Keep track here if ya like cheers Greg
  21. Thanks guys.. Cheers Rob, That's another good pic to add to my stash...appreciate that immensely. Bill, After ogling more pics, and taking your advise, I attacked the rood section the other night... I cut along the top of the rear window, about 6-7mm forward, down both C pillars to a bit over half way down and cut it off completely.. Added some styrene strips etc around the "bare" area and glued the section back on..... Sounds pretty rough I know....but I've slapped some putty on her now and sanded it back to shape..... It's a beaut day here today, so I should get a shot of primer on here, then sand it again....see how it looks. The overall shape does look 100% better now. Robert, You just described how I was envisioning this build mate.. Pics later today or tonight guys. cheers Greg
  22. Rob....Looking REAL good man.....Love the extra wiring in the engine bay. Interior come up a treat too...You found a suitable Hurst shifter..? Still haven't located the one I thought I had.... Look forward to seeing this on the shelf mate.. cheers Greg
  23. Thanks guys.. Harry, Yes thanks man, that's one of the pics I have. I got about 4 or 5 decent photos...one of them is almost perfect side view. Bill, Aye....the roofline is a concern....I thought it looks a little diff'rent, but may still try something there...(?) I made the C pillar slightly more vertical...maybe needs to go a little more. I think I can still manipulate that a little... Rob, Cheers mate. Hope you got a large bowl of popcorn mate.... I'll try a few things over the weekend....We have a 3-dayer coming up, so chances are good.....
  24. Thanks BIRD. I'd wondered if many other guys had been having similar thoughts as this, and even thought ....resin...?? But chances are, a really good resin guy has got one almost done....(positive thoughts..)....Mine will be a long time getting done.
  25. Hey guys, I've been looking high and low, trying to find decent reference pics of a 69 Nova 4-door...... They must be some sorta rare collectible are they.....?....not many around....... Meh....maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spots...... Anyways, I did manage to find something which was helpful......this is what I've got so far........ It's still quite roughed up.....but it's early on, so hang in there.... I've just put a couple of pics in my BMNova folder so far. This ain't going to be a quickie build, it could take some time.....so I'll make it's own folder at a later date. Plans are for a duel bench, column shift auto....no frills deal. Def'nitly steelies, or cheapo wheel covers of some sort...maybe one missing....(?)....Oh, and a six-banger....... 4-door Nova...??? I'll up date you's from time to time, but please...don't sit there with the popcorn and drinks waitin for updates....... Hope you like her.... cheers Greg
