Thanks guys.. Bill, Ok..very nice detail mate..I would like to "attempt" a nice Ferrari one day...I have one similar to Ferris Beulla's (spelling.?) that needs doing... Marcos, I love the direction yours is heading...it looks great man. I'll be doing a more "stock" version with the 68....

Hi Randy, The mesh is from the Model Car Garage detail set for the 69 Charger. On a 1:1, the section where the lights are is actually solid/mesh fronted..I wanted something more "custom" so I added the lights from a Johan Cuda behind.....it gives it a different look to most of what normally gets built..
-
Thank you Bill.. Hey, that's some of your handy work, yes..?...Very tidy..I like that a lot.
-
Cheers guys.. Raul, The belt is from the Perry's resin set, matched to the pulleys from Model Car Garage...I know, I kills two sets to do it....but they're the best bits from both sets... The MCG set also has the secondary groove for the alternator belt, Perry's is more for Strip use only..(full competition) Yeah, my first attempt at full linkage....not something I want to do again any time soon....

Whew..this is my first completion in about 4 years...can't say I'm sorry to see it leave the bench... Revell 69 Charger..mean, nasty...tuff streeter....Sat'day night cruizer..... Couple of omitions..the radiator hoses, after stuffing in all the other hardware, I found little room for them, oh well.... Also, just noticed I haven't added the throttle cable and return spring, I'll add them later. Overall appearance and stance is what I was hoping to achieve...slightly nose-up...ready to launch..... And a couple from the rear quarters... The underbelly got a custom zorst, complete with street "legal" mufflers... Thanks for stopping by, hope you like... Rest of the build can be found here @ fotki...Charger....done....>> cheers Greg

Dang, this is shaping up nicely Marcos. The motor looks ready to fire up, just be sure not to redline it for the first 1000 miles, ok... Great progress mate. I have a 69 Charger with just a couple of small details left to add..I'll post some pics in the finished section later...

Revell delays more street dates
stump replied to Zoom Zoom's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Terry, It will be 1/25 then...? I sure hope so. I have/had the old Monogram 1/24 T/A, and yes...it is dated, even though 80's vintage is not all that old. I too, hope for a truely nice accurate 1/25 scale version to make a T/A...it's about all that's missing from my line up.. -
Welcome aboard Kurt. This is indeed, one of the best darn forums going these days..I'm still relatively new myself, but I've met some of greatest guys here, and there is a wealth of very talented builders. Good to hear you're a bit of a Rotary nut too...that can't be a bad thing.... ..(one of my secret loves...).. Look forward to seeing some of your builds mate. Are you going to QMHE in Bris-Vegas this year..? QMHE 2008..Hope to catchya there if you make it. Geez...didn't realize it'd crept up so quik...need to finish a couple..... Cheers mate Greg

..No worries Rob. Yes, the BM 70 Camaro does make a good "parts" car.....I have 4, built 1..... Still have a couple of rim sets, but only 1 set of tyres left. Great idea of resin casting those M/T's....wish I'd thought of that...the last set have a car lined up already...... BTW, I do like the choice of wheels you have on it at presant, they do suit it well..
-
Whoo.....Rob, that green suits it to a T......very very nice. Not wanting to throw too many ideas at ya, but have you tried the 5 spokes and M/T's from the Amt BMCamaro...?? I think they would suit it too......yummo .. She's coming along nicely mate, keep at it.. cheers Greg

Sneak peek ....The IMC Tanker Trailer kit is back !!!
stump replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Whoooo......that's spooky....How could you have known what my exact thoughts were on this subject... ..... Bernard, not taking a shot at you mate, what you said is almost word for word the way in which I was thinking......you said it first, and better than I could've.... I would love to attempt a nice truck build one day....as Bill said, maybe combine this with the L-700 kit.......I'm liking that idea......hmmmmm...... -
Hey guys, Just wondering if someone knows of a resin body Dodge Avenger Pro Stock...?? I've not seen one, and I've checked most resin casters I can think of....running outta ideas...... I know they're not currant in 1:1 drag racing, I think they use a Stratos these days..but our local MOPAR Team has just landed a "new" Avenger recently...as raced last season or the one before that...(?) I got to see it yesterday and was just blown away.. Any help muchly appreciated.. cheers Greg

Thanks for the heads-up on the tank Rob. If things did go a little askew with the scribing, be easy enough to glue a piece of flat sheet to the hole, then reglue the tank back on top of that...would help recover any lost depth due to sanding...?? Mate, I have the BM 69 Camaro as well, pretty sure (99.999%) the headers are the same as regular BB (Yenko) and it has the "S" pipes to connect from header to sidepipes... Look forward to more on this wild ride mate..
-
That's shaping up very well Rob, nice work on the hood.. I like the way you've done the top too....I may have to follow your lead........ Have you any BB Camaro's in your stash...the headers from one of them ought to work.....I'll probly adapt the headers from an Amt BM Camaro, the 70, and use 3mm tube for the side pipes, like I did on my build up of the 70... Was there much involved in turning the tank around..? One of mine (eventually) will be a BM car for sure.....a must have, in my book... Keep the great progress coming man, it's all I'm getting ATM to keep my passion high.... ...we wont see them down here in Aus for another month....maybe two....... (though, I do have an eye on ebay......) cheers mate.
-
Hey, it's the go ya know..... Used by a lot of Group 1 guys at the drags down here Joe, as well as many others... We have a can at my work which "lives" on our 1940 (?...very old anyways..)vintage forklift...even though she's a diesel, one spray and away she fires, don't even need to wait for glow-plug warm up.....
-
Nice looking build so far man..Love that yellow, it is really sharp.. Just looking at the great work you've done on the motor..couldn't help asking myself, if one of the resin guys will pop some of those intake manifolds...that looks awesome.....and I would buy a couple dozen of'em......easy....... .. I have this kit coming along with my first two Novas.....hmmm.....looks like I'll be swapping out parts before I know it...
-
Cheers Marcos. Yes, I wanted the decals to be understated......didn't wish to draw too much attention to it...I like subtle things.
-
Yes...Looking real good Bill. I love the colour scheme you've chosen for this build. I've just broke open a new sheet of BMF myself..purchased about 2 months ago......yep, it's all cracked up as well.... Mainly contained to the centre of the sheet, but it still means I'll have to discard over 30% of it....frustrating.....

.................................... DISCLAIMER* The above post was not meant to offend, if you were in fact, serious...
-
Thanks George. Yep, those are the first set of your caps gettin put to good use.. Looks waaay better than the "stock" steelies I was going to use originally.....Thanks mate. I'm a big fan of the colour too.....bit of a blue boy at heart...*notice I didn't say blue oval boy*
-
..Thanks Clay. Yeah, progress isn't continuous on this one...long time between posts and it gets left behind..... .. Should be able to add it to the "completed section" soon.....
-
Been getting little bits done here...in between house painting/renovations...... Final colour coats are on, decals are on..(thanks Keith...awesome decals.)just waiting on a good day for clearcoat...Was going to be today, but mother nature decided other wise... I probly got the decals made a shade dark...barely visible, but that's the look I was after anyways....Very subtle to say the least..but get the right light angle, and they do pop.... Also got all the foiling done.....gee, I like foiling...... Wheels are almost there...just need to add valve stems. The "caps" are not Mopar correct, I just had'em in the box..Huge thanks to George53..Cheers man. The motor hasn't escaped some attention...Pulleys by MCG, dizzy from Detail Master. I used the twin-plug heads from the kit, running single plug set up...Large Dominator sits atop a custom 4-bbl manifold, again, not Mopar typical, but it does the job. Photo-etched linkages are there as well. The headers are from Revell, I added collectors with tiny pins ground to hex shape with hex nuts added. With some luck, this may get wrapped up over the next week or two...... Thanks for your time guys. cheers Greg More pics here...>>

Yep, works for me too Tom. Going to be something similar in my stable....when we finally get'em down here....
-
Yeah...c'mon, who you trying to kidd.....scale alternator, indeed....... Man, that is awesome detail...never seen an alternator cut up to add windings......sweet work mate. Love the overall "look" to this build...awaiting more progress...... What did you use for that wheel weight, looks so realistic....?? Thanks for sharing.
