The Galaxie website has a Coming Soon image featuring '47 Chevy Coupe & '47 Chevy Aerosedan repop box art!
They also show what the decal sheets for both cars will be.

I believe you can use an AMT '60 Starliner engine with updated valve covers to get close to a well-detailed 1/25 '66 427.
Or maybe try the 427 from the Revell '64 Thunderbolt?
Looking good so far, James!
Don't forget some ballast in that bed. Sandbags, cinder blocks, maybe an oliy old engine?
I've seen all of those in 1:1s used up here in the snow belt!
The flag decal is probably in the box. AMT/Warner Bros. probably can't use it to "promote sales" (e.g. - on the box top), but can include it inside.
Hasegawa airplane model kits have been like this for years with the swastika - not on the box art, but decals inside (the swastika is in two decal pcs.)
I'm with ya, John. It's as if technology has made it more difficult to scale down an accurate representation.
AMT and MPC could do it 30, 40, 50 years ago. Why can't Revell get subtle body lines, wheel arches, body creases, etc. correct?
It may be at each store manager's disrection what to play for Muzak. I've never noticed any overtly religious music at the Latham, NY Hobby Lobby.
I love it - 40% coupon & a decent selection of new model releases (unlike Michaels & AC Moore's years-old releases).
I've never been accosted by anyone pushing their religion there either.

I always liked those cars. There were a lot around when I was a teenager (Cutlass, not 442 or Hurst).
If they make it, 1/24 would make sense due to the earlier releases of the MC SS & GN in that scale. Also, the body could be made into a NASCAR by the builder for some cool Yarborough, Allison & Foyt early-80s builds.
Hopefully we see it someday...
I would guess that the box art build was built on consignment, and someone spent time & effort to produce a good-looking replica because there was a paycheck involved? Plus, maybe several kits were used to get the best possible parts for the box art build, a luxury not afforded to the customer?
Or it was a "retouched photo of actual model."
