  1. I'm hoping Dave's hoping to have them for NNL East (4/26/14). Model King usually has a big vendor area at that show. Fingers crossed!
  2. Neato! I've had a similar idea rattling around inside my head for years too, Jeff. Very nicely done. I'll be checking this out at NNL East!
  3. I agree. Great work so far!
  4. It's when you can see the carrier film of a decal once it has dried. I guess it looks silver over darker colors. It can happen on any finish, shiny or flat, but almost always happens when a decal is applied to a flat finish.
  5. You need a glossy surface for decals to adhere best, with no silvering. After that, hit it with Dullcote and it will be flat. Dullcote is the flattest finish available, it knocks down all sheen. Try it.
  6. They are Lacross brand.
  7. I've got a maroon-colored pair of tweezers, Revlon maybe, that I probably got in the makeup aisle of the drug store. Best tweezers I've ever used. They don't bend under pressure and you could pick up a hair off the bench with them. I'll check when I get home, to see what brand they are...
  8. Beautiful build! Great job.
  9. The AMT '59 El Camino has a blown Caddy engine option in it. Or you could use the Revell Parts Pack Caddy with a parts box blower assembly. The RPP Caddy has Hydromatic and In/Out tranny options, so that's cool!
  10. I eyeballed this same deal and think it will work like you say. Should look cool! Post some pics.
  11. This is awesome! I want to do this with the Moebius '69 F-100 when it comes out. I love the look. Are those 48" tires?
  12. Hi Larry, Check post #2 of this thread.
  13. Post-It Note inside the box, on top of the parts, with what's been scavenged. Then a Sharpie on the box lid and both ends that reads "PARTS." That second part helps if you ever go to sell or trade them.
  14. I was thinking this morning, as I watched an F250 plowing snow, that Meng should do little add-on kits for this truck - utility box, plow setup, etc. Kind of like Eduard does with aircraft parts. I think they'd sell!
  15. Nice job! Those Revell Roth kits are nerve-wracking enough when I take my time. Brave choice!
  16. If you want to research what they were actually running "back in the day" check out the book Gasser Wars, or the website Gasser Madness. Lots of great vintage photos in both.
  17. I know about the blue line GY slicks. What else was restored/retooled/included? Thanks!
  18. The Revell '41 Willys gassers have big window 5-slot rears. Older Revell kits such as Tommy Ivo Showboat, Orange Crate, '20 T-bucket have the small 4-slots pictured. Use them and Daddyfink's outer rim idea and you're there.
  19. Thanks guys! Leaning towards Testors Emerald Green or Revving Red over a SG black frame right now.
  20. Here's my take on the new Slingster. I used the single hoop rollbar, which allowed me to channel the body about 4" in scale after opening up the wheel arches. It runs a small block Chevy and has AMT slicks & '33 Willys rear wheels. It's off to the paint booth for primer now...
