  1. Why not a street machine? Put the Snake 45 flavor on it.
  2. I did some research on the 2002 interior, and I plan to scratch build the door and rear side panels and armrests.
  3. Coming from an Oldsmobile family, all I can say is Great!!!!!
  4. Bill, I am loving this project. I looked at my Model Car Garage '69 Shelby GT500 Photo-etch Set, and it is not too usable for the Green Hornet project, as it does not have the necessary scripts. Last night, I was going through my magazines, and I saw an article in a "Motor Trend Classic" that had several nice photos of the "Green Hornet", and the explanation of how and why the car came to be.
  5. I have a simple suggestion. In this thread, we stick with '67 Bonnevilles and Grand Prix, and in another thread under the Community Build Section", We have a full size Pontiac Build Party, then those of us with any other "Big Poncho" kits can have at it. I just want to see these cars built, and maybe, I can whip another Pontiac out. I just went through the Basement, and I have several available candidates I would like to tear into.
  6. OOOH! Great score!!I have the MPC version of the car in my basement, waiting to be built. I already know how I am going to build it, and what color it will be.
  7. Remember, these cars were sold in Canada, and not the U.S. in the early '70's. The Dusters sound like a Mopar version of a C.O.P.O., and the Darts could have been a low production model, available only in Canada. Both models were doable on the assembly line, and back in the day, if you had the connections, it could happen.
  8. I was in the basement last night, as I am in the midst of a re-organization and clean up. I came across my '68 Bonneville Convertible, and a '68 Pontiac brochure. It has been repaired, and is in primer, much like the '67 Bonneville Hardtop, which I plan to work on first. I bought several Revell Parts Pack Pontiac engines, and I am going to use one on this build. I have a Turbo 400 that I can adapt to the engine, but I may craft a 4-speed console and pedals. I am also going to cobble together a 4 bbl intake manifold. I cannot see myself installing the tri-power on this one, but I have a manifold that may work. I will probably spring for some Fireball Quadrajets, as I have several projects they will work on. I plan to dress the engine up as a 428 H.O., which was a factory option on the '67 Bonneville. The body has been cleaned up, and primered several years ago, and I have a set of 8-Lugs and red-Lines already done, even though I am considering either a set of full wheel covers with whitewalls, or a set if Rally II wheels on wide oval red lines. I am going to call it, a Bonneville with a little attitude. Other than the engine, and under-hood details, I plan to stick primarily with the kit parts, even though, I have a tip to share with everyone else doing their builds. The Revell 1966 GTO kit has a beautiful decal of the factory accessory floor mats, which can be made to fit the interior of the car using thin sheet plastic, cut and painted the interior color. Back in '67, my Dad had a '67 Olds 98 2 Door Hardtop, which was Silver, with a Black Vinyl Roof, and a Silver Cloth Interior, which I thought was a good looking car. That car is the influence for the build.
  9. A '67 Convertible is a rare bird, and very expensive. I have been trying to get one for several years, but I cannot afford the prices they have been getting. I have a '68 and '69 convertible, even though they were built ups, they are workable.
  10. That is a car that should have been done in the one-to-one world.
  11. I love it!!
  12. I want a set of those for my HRM '68 Shelby Convertible, and a '68 Gt500 I may do later combining the old AMT '68 Shelby Fastback kit with the newer tool AMT '67 Mustang Fastback..
  13. The color combination suits that car fine. Very nice!!!
  14. I was rooting through the basement last night to get my '67 Bonneville out to start work on it when I go on Vacation in a couple of weeks. I found the Bonneville, but I also found a Modelhaus Resin '67 Grand Prix Hardtop I bought several years ago. I am still gong to do the Bonneville, as it has been primered, and I have the paint to do it up. I know where I am going with this one.
  15. I've found that the metallic flakes in some of the Testors' lacquers are a little large, especially for us replica stock builders. I have found some new metallic colors in the Tamiya line in the past year that I have bought, but have not tried on a model. That Falcon is coming along great!!!
  16. That one looks very nice. The AMT '68 Shelby is definitely an old school kit derived from the '68 annual that has been maligned by some of the members of the board, some of it much deserved, This build proves that a good paint job, creative building, and a decent set of wheels and tires can make the old girl quite presentable. The last few builds of this kit I have seen on the board, including this one makes me glad that I did not get rid of mine. By the way. this month's Collectable Automobile Magazine has an excellent article on the Shelby Mustangs of this era.
  17. One of these days, I have to build one. I like that one.
  18. I really like that one!!!!
  19. That one is real nice. It would be bad to the bone with a hopped up 6-banger in it. Just a thought.
  20. I really like that one Mike. I have not gotten too far with my Bronco. I bought two. One is going to be stock, enhanced with some pieces from Scenes Unlimited and Fireball Resins' parts, and the other is going to wear a lot of Replicas and Miniatures and Fireball Resins' goodies in a raised stance. I may paint both of them the same color combination.
  21. I love the way this one is going. I shortened a '72 several years ago, but never finished it.I painted the roof and bottom white, but have not decided on the main color, so back in the box it went. One day. I may finish it.
  22. Revell '69 Camaro and the Revell '72 Hurst Olds Convertible.
  23. That is why I pre-build my models before paint. I hate surprises, and for what the resin trans kits cost, an accurate appearance is very important to me. I have a Model Car World '66 Biscayne which will build the same way. However, I am not satisfied with the roof profile, so I will re-do it. I did my '65 Biscayne's back window, and it came out great.
  24. Very Nice Gary. I would not change a thing on any of them. I would love to preserve those.
