  1. I've been there, done that, and am considering Fotki.
  2. Yes I am looking for a new host. I cannot pay the price of Photobucket, and my old Snapfish account does not work. I did some work on the Bonneville, adding the Vinyl Roof Trim mouldings. The car is going to be a hodge podge of parts, as it has a Modelhaus hood (does not fit flush), and bumpers. It's been primered, and is ready for paint. I painted the interior Black a long time ago when I found a set of '67 Bonneville front seats years ago. I thought I had a complete kit, but I sold the one I had off, and kept this one.

  4. I like that pearl white. To date, I have built three of those kits, One White with Turquoise Interior, One Black on Black, and a Red on Red Hardtop kitbashed with the Time Machines Resin Body.I love those kits, as well as the real Car, as I drove one my Dad had when I was in High School. It was a bomb, but I liked driving it. I am not going to do a build of it, as I have a promo of the car (Beige Hardtop with an off White interior).
  5. That looks great as is. It does not need any stripes.
  6. That is quite handsome Steve. I went to work on my Bonny, and I found that I was missing the firewall and the core support. I am going to use '70 Bonneville parts for those missing items. I installed the vinyl roof mouldings; and blocked the body. I cleaned the resin '67 GP up, and it looks fine. I have to scratch-build some tail lamps for thr Bonny as they've missing in action.
  7. In my humble opinion Historic Racing Miniatures does a fantastic 63 Corvette Split Window transkit to be combined with the Revell 1967. It's not cheap, but it is far better than anything else out there. It has a correct set of KH Aluminum Knockoff wheels, and a correct Fuelie Intake. You are on your own for the chrome and aluminum plate. Combined with either the VRM Corvette decals, or the Model Car World Photoetch, and an accurate Factory color, and a beautiful replica can be had.
  8. The onlt "foible" I have found in the three I built is that the windshield is a little fiddly to install cleanly. There is no surface to add any glue to it I friction fit the glass in, and hit a dot of watch crystal cement to the corners on the inside after I install the windshield frame into the car. Don't think I am crazy, but I have 7 more of them in the stash.
  9. Eric, Several years ago, I did a restoration of a '71, and I have a '72 , '73, '74 and 75 to bring back to life. Like Steve wrote in his thread, The Model Car Garage '76 Caprice set gives you the Impala Custom Scripts for the sail panels. The '65 Chevelle set has the C-H-E-V-R-O-L-E-T letters for the front of the car. The font is slightly different, but should work. I used them on my '69 SS427 build. I am sorry that I cannot post any pictures of my builds, as my pictures are in the Photobucket universe for now.
  10. Good luck on that fantastic score!!!!
  11. Very nice!!!!!
  12. Last night, I was in the midst of cleaning up the basement, and I found my choice of models for the '67 Pontiac Full Size Build, A Modelhaus '67 Grand Prix 2 Door hardtop. Last week I was going through my brochures, and I found a '67 Grand Prix Brochure, so this worked out great. When I bought this kit, I originally bought a '66 Caprice hardtop from Don at one of the NNLs. I looked at the car, and did not care for the contours of the top, so I went back to Don and swapped the kit for a '67 Grand Prix. I got the car home, and removed the script from the rear fenders, as the font was incorrect. It has been in the box for several years. As this is a curbside kit (no engine and sealed hood), it should not take a lot of time to get a decent build out of it. The color chart in this thread is a great help.
  13. In the real world, the '68 Lincoln had a 460, and the '65 had a 462. The '66-69 AMT Lincoln kits had Chrome plated engines, while the'65 and earlier had painted engine, which looked pretty much the same to me. Each year of the suicide-door Lincoln kits were annuals, save the '65 convertible, so they are very rare, and can be quite expensive on the open market as an unbuilt kit. The '68 is the one I do not have. If I had one, I would convert it into a 2-Door coupe. I'm converting a '66 Sedan into a convertible as I am writing this.
  14. The AMT '65 Lincoln would have an engine that will fit, or depending on what you want to do, any AMT Ford FE motor with the hole in the block for the axle to pass through will work with no muss or fuss.
  15. Why not a street machine? Put the Snake 45 flavor on it.
  16. I did some research on the 2002 interior, and I plan to scratch build the door and rear side panels and armrests.
  17. Coming from an Oldsmobile family, all I can say is Great!!!!!
  18. Bill, I am loving this project. I looked at my Model Car Garage '69 Shelby GT500 Photo-etch Set, and it is not too usable for the Green Hornet project, as it does not have the necessary scripts. Last night, I was going through my magazines, and I saw an article in a "Motor Trend Classic" that had several nice photos of the "Green Hornet", and the explanation of how and why the car came to be.
  19. I have a simple suggestion. In this thread, we stick with '67 Bonnevilles and Grand Prix, and in another thread under the Community Build Section", We have a full size Pontiac Build Party, then those of us with any other "Big Poncho" kits can have at it. I just want to see these cars built, and maybe, I can whip another Pontiac out. I just went through the Basement, and I have several available candidates I would like to tear into.
  20. OOOH! Great score!!I have the MPC version of the car in my basement, waiting to be built. I already know how I am going to build it, and what color it will be.
  21. Remember, these cars were sold in Canada, and not the U.S. in the early '70's. The Dusters sound like a Mopar version of a C.O.P.O., and the Darts could have been a low production model, available only in Canada. Both models were doable on the assembly line, and back in the day, if you had the connections, it could happen.
  22. I was in the basement last night, as I am in the midst of a re-organization and clean up. I came across my '68 Bonneville Convertible, and a '68 Pontiac brochure. It has been repaired, and is in primer, much like the '67 Bonneville Hardtop, which I plan to work on first. I bought several Revell Parts Pack Pontiac engines, and I am going to use one on this build. I have a Turbo 400 that I can adapt to the engine, but I may craft a 4-speed console and pedals. I am also going to cobble together a 4 bbl intake manifold. I cannot see myself installing the tri-power on this one, but I have a manifold that may work. I will probably spring for some Fireball Quadrajets, as I have several projects they will work on. I plan to dress the engine up as a 428 H.O., which was a factory option on the '67 Bonneville. The body has been cleaned up, and primered several years ago, and I have a set of 8-Lugs and red-Lines already done, even though I am considering either a set of full wheel covers with whitewalls, or a set if Rally II wheels on wide oval red lines. I am going to call it, a Bonneville with a little attitude. Other than the engine, and under-hood details, I plan to stick primarily with the kit parts, even though, I have a tip to share with everyone else doing their builds. The Revell 1966 GTO kit has a beautiful decal of the factory accessory floor mats, which can be made to fit the interior of the car using thin sheet plastic, cut and painted the interior color. Back in '67, my Dad had a '67 Olds 98 2 Door Hardtop, which was Silver, with a Black Vinyl Roof, and a Silver Cloth Interior, which I thought was a good looking car. That car is the influence for the build.
