That came out pretty nice. I have not gotten my kit yet, but I do have a can of Panther Pink paint.

I cannot wait to see how you work out the fender vents. I love it!

I've seen resin shrink. I would see if they would replace the shrunken parts. I take my hat off to you for that build. It should come out beautiful !!!

Johan '71 Cuda Grille Upgrade
Ron Hamilton replied to afx's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
While that would be a good idea, most modelers would want to put it in the superior Revell body. I am going to get another one, as I have a MPC '73 annual that I am going to cut up and combine with a Revell body. It's a glue bomb that I have where I would like to do a base Barracuda coupe with white wall tires and full wheel covers, which I just got from Missing Link Resin. I have a not too bad Sox and Martin JoHan '71 that I am going to restore. It's all there, but I want to replace the carbs with a set of Fireball Dominators in lieu of the kit parts. -
I may have to do one like that to bookend with my '71 Hemi Charger R/T. That is one cool car.

1/25 AMT George Barris' Fireball 500
Ron Hamilton replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I've only seen one of these built decently other than the one in this picture. I have one from a long time ago. I have a Barris Book with the original car in it, as well as I saw the movie with the one-to-one in it. The trailer looks to be the same one that is in the '64 Corvette Roadster, and is good for just about any sports car. -

Revell 76 Gran Torino Model Kit Review
Ron Hamilton replied to hpiguy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
On the subject of the aforementioned Hubcaps and Trim Rings. The caps used on the '72-76 Torino series with the trim rings were similar to the ones pictured, but with a flat black center with the Ford crest. My uncle's '72 Ranchero had those caps. Missing Link resin just released a set of Flat caps with a set of deeper trim rings, but no Ford Motor Company lettering in the center. I just got a set of them to do a certain '71 Mach1. I already had a Narrow set for a '71 Maverick Grabber I want to do. Personally, I would have liked to see Revell include the Magmum 500 wheels from the '70 Torino GT/Cobra Kit. That is what I am going to use on my '76., and that is one ugly box. -
Welcome to the board!!!! I am in awe of your work on this model. Excellent !!!!

Revell '57 Chevy Convertible.
Ron Hamilton replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I built the original Revell '57 Nomad back in the '60's when I was a teenager, but there was no way that I would touch one of the Monogram Nomad kits due to the proportions of the body. There is a nice resin transkit of a '57 Nomad from Model Car World available if I get the urge, but I believe that Revell will introduce the kit before I get it built. I have a Franken-Resin '68 and '70 Charger to prove the point. -
The looks pretty good Rob. Thanks for showing us the kit contents I my bedroom, I have an excellent Hemming's Muscle Machine article and photos of a Triple Black, with the White Bumble Bee '70 Hemi Charger R/T. I plan to pilfer the Rally Wheels from Revell Hemi Cuda, and a set of AMT Pad- printed Polyglas GT White Lettered Tires. This will bookend with the '68 Charger R/T from "Bullitt" that I want to do. I bought a set of wheelcovers from Fireball Modelworks to do the project. I cannot wait!!!!!!

That is some great workmanship David. It's great to have the knowledge of the one-to-one to go by, and the skills to carry it off as you did. When I built mine back in the day when they were new. I did not deal with the inaccuracies of the kits. I have most of the kits of that series in various states of assembly down in the basement. None of them look anywhere as good as yours. Last year, I restored my Iroc Z. I just cleaned it up and polished it. I found my '82 Z28 kit. I cut the roof off of it to build a replica of a convertible conversion that we had at our dealership since it was moulded in Red, and my Demo was White. I believe the roof I cut off, and the rear window are in my pile of parts. I found some of them, and if I am able to find it, I would like to convert it back into a Hardtop. The lower stripe decals would be hard to recreate after I strip the enamel paint I did in late '83, but it would be an interesting build. If I cannot find the parts, I'll just freshen it up like I did to the Iroc Z. I did the '84 Berlinetta as a Street Machine with an Injected V8 and American 200S wheels and different tires. I found the Replica Stock wheels and tires, and the Air Cleaner, carb, and Manifold., so it can be rebuilt to something close to being a Replica Stock Camaro. The paint can be polished out, and I can scratch build a spoiler cap that has been missing since I built the model in 1985. .I have an unbuilt MPC '82 Firebird T/A with a broken "A" pillar somewhere in my basement that I may still resurrect. I have always liked 1/16 kits. I have several in the collection to be built from a new kit, or restored from my collection, as I never tossed them out, and they were not built as Glue-Bombs. That is one fantastic Iroc Z David.

I went by the local Hobby Lobby, and picked up a couple cans of Testors' Lacquer, and a '65 Grand Prix and '80 Volare' on the clearance table for $6. and some change each. The pad printed tires I both of those was worth the price of admission, and I will build both of those eventually. I had no particular intention of purchasing either kit, but at that price, why not? Besides, I got the 40% off of one of the cans of paint, which I need for a project.
