  1. I have several of them, as I collected the MPC corvettes and mad as a kid. I still have a 68 corvette and mad in 1/20, as well as others in that scale.
  2. Welcome to the board. I like what I see, and I would love to see more. I will be following your work.
  3. I acquired an old built-up with the plastic Tires. It only had three tires and wheels, so I was able to get another set up from Scenes Unlimited Resin, as I liked the slot mags with 8-lugs. Well, I am going in a different direction, as this truck is perfect for what I plan to do. It is in the queue for next year, as it has been planned out, and I have everything I need to get it done.
  4. That looks very nice. I have a built up '6o or '61 Comet in my collection. It is painted Silver, which I intend to strip, and paint bright red. A friend of mine's Dad had one when we were kids.
  5. Good luck with that one.
  6. Of course I read your post, and I agree wholeheartedly with you. When I was a teenager, my dad bought a '68 Country Sedan, which was a very nice car, only lacking the Hideaways and the wood trim that the Country Squire had. I did not state it in my post, but I remember a particular '67 Country Squire with a 428/4-Speed combination that was supposedly not available from the factory, but Lee Iococca signed off on it, and the car was built. I plan to do a '68 LTD 4-Door Hardtop with a 428/4-speed combination, using the Missing Link Resin Transkit as a homage to that car, even though I have seen a couple of such LTD's in Hemmings
  7. It's a shame that The Modelhaus is closing down. I am very patient, so when I see something I need on Ebay, or at a show, I pick it up. For instance, a friend gave me a '68 Coupe de Ville promo, which had broken " A " pillars, cracks along the side and missing Chrome. I have the chrome, now I have to fix the body. I know how I am going to do it. It's Dark Brown, so when I re-paint it, it will have to be a coordinating color, because I like the interior color. The '62 Fleetwood I just got was in very good shape, needing a thorough cleaning, a repair on one of the fin tips, a re-chroming of the bumpers and the wheels, and a set of stock Tail lights. None of the gee-gaws that JoHan put in the kit was put on the model, so that was a definite plus.
  8. If you are able to get a 65 hardtop kit, and a 65 or 66 boot, a nice conversion is doable. I did one several years ago.
  9. I like old Cadillacs. I have all the JoHan Caddys except the 77 and 79 from 61 on. My 59 and 60 are based on the superb Monogram 59. I have a resin 59 Fleetwood Sixty Special that I may combine with my last Monogram kit to do a really nice one if I don't run out of time. The 77 and 79 will come to.me one day. My dad had a 83 Coupe re Ville, which I may use the Revell Fleetwood Hardtop as the basis. Most of it is in the kit, and I have seen a Conversion done to that kit as a De Ville. Only time will tell. I have so many projects to finish. Thanks for the shout out!
  10. Bill, In the early'70's, Ford marketed such a car, the LTD wagon. It was trimmed out as a LTD, but was not a Country Squire. Back in the day, if your pockets were deep enough, and you had a dealer who was willing, that car would have been built by the factory. Happy Thanksgiving
  11. Thanks Tom. It's always a pleasure to see you.
  12. That is sharp! I have one still in the box where I mocked it up with no paint I hope that mine looks half as good when I get back to it.
  13. I celebrated my birthday yesterday, and I picked up the following in the past few weeks: A built-up 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood to complete my Cadillac Collection in Scale A Missing Link Resin 1961 Pontiac Catalina 2 Door Sedan Transkit to go with one of my Mobieus 61 Catalinas. Various Resin wheelcovers and accessories to enhance my builds. A 1970 Hemi cuda for the Rallye Wheels for the 1970 Charger kit that O bought Last month, along with the AMT White lettered Polyglas GT Tires for those kits. I have to get out of my building slump. After seeing so many great builds here on the board, I have to get back to work. I have so many ideas for these and the others I have.
  14. The Firestone Double Pinstripe Tires will work well on non-performance versions of. 1970 and 1971 cars. The Performance cars with factory whitewalls got '70 series pin whites. My Dad's '70 Lincoln Continental and my Grandparent's '71 Mercury Marquis had those double pinstripe tires. I would love to get a set for a '70 Impala. LTD, or Monte Carlo among others.
  15. That one takes me back. A good friend of mine's Mom had that very same car in one-to-one. She bought it new in 1966.
  16. It is the Revell kit, and I know how you feel about it. You know I will deal with the foibles we discussed.
  17. It is the Nickey Chevrolet version. Non stock, but I have the parts left over from the one I built originally, as well as parts from my parts box, as well as an unbuilt original version of the kit. I plan to do an Indy Pace Car Convertible. I have the parts to do the car.
  18. I had a good day. I received the following: (2) '61 Pontiac Catalinas from Mobieus (1) '67 Camaro SS/RS from Monogram. I am happy with these, and I also have a '61 Pontiac Catalina Post Sedan Resin Body coming from Missing Link Resin. I have not yet built my '61 Ventura, but I know what I want to do with it.
  19. Fantastic!!!!
  20. Fantastic Work!!!!
  21. The Monte Carlo and El Camino, had different fender contours and the nose cones were not the same part, even though they looked similar. The Monte Carlo SS was all factory, and the El Camino was aftermarket, and the quality showed. When the El Camino SS was new, The basic vehicle was ordered normally through the GM system, but there was a drop ship code that sent the vehicles to Tenn. to get the SS Conversion. There was not a lot of variations from car to car. Choo Choo customs also sold a conversion kit where El Camino owners could transform their cars into an "SS" , as well as collision replacement parts. I've even seen a few '78-81 Malibu Coupes with the "SS" front end. We were a big dealer, and we did not sell many. They were not too plentiful when they were new.
