  1. Robert, I have only took a cursory look at the California Flash Car. If I can get to the cars in the next few days, I'll be happy to answer your questions. If I really like the California Flash kit, I may get another one to use as the basis for the Black Arrow, and turn the other one into a L.A. Police Cruiser. They showed one on an Adam 12 Re-Run Today. I can do the work to turn it into a 4-door.
  2. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. From looking at your photos, it looks a little soft around the front end. If you get a chance, why don't you bring it to the M.A.M.A. meeting, since you are local. I , for one would love to see it.
  3. I built one of those back in 1970. I never had the "Motor City Stocker" version. I liked the kit.
  4. Yes, the roof is too short. There are other issues with the body, but it goes together very nice, and has good detail. I did one of the green ones as a slump buster, and I am very happy with everything bit those goofy stickers for the stripes.
  5. I have 3 of them. 2 of the original kit, and a Butch Leal version. The first one of the original had a twist in it, but I was able to straighten it out. This one is going to be built as a "Black Arrow", as I bought the decals a while back, and after seeing Jim's build, I want to do one. The second one and the "California Flash" version were perfect. I mocked up my Satellite, and it went together well.
  6. I sold a lot of Chevy Astro Vans when I was in the business. They were built not too far from me at the Baltimore plant. I bought this kit when it first came out, and noticed that is indeed a non U.S. spec van, as it is a cross between an LS and LT trim level. I only wish that they did a cargo version of this kit. It would have sold well. The build is very nicely done.
  7. It's a funny thing. I have only built one early Falcon ( a '61 Ranchero about 40 some odd years ago), but I have several to do, as I just picked up a '62 Sedan to clean up and restore. I like where that one you are doing is going. A set of Ansen Sprints, or Cragar S/S wheels would look great on it.
  8. I just picked up one of those scoops for a future project.
  9. Fantastic work!!!!
  10. Yes I am working on a '64 Lincoln Sedan, and it was from an original annual 3 in 1 kit from back in the day. I also have an original '65 Sedan, which is unbuilt, and the building plans have been made for it, as well as every '60's Lincoln Continental kit, save the '68. which I sold off. Unfortunately, I am a member of Photobucket. Need I say more?
  11. I like that acquisition of the '64 Polara Convertible. I was able to get a few sets of Polar Lights '65 Coronet 500 Full wheel covers for my hardtop and convertible. My uncle's 64 Polara 500 Convertible had Baby moons and beauty rims on white stripe tires. I like the spinner wheel covers much better, and that is what I am going to use on mine. I wish you luck on finding a '64 Fury Convertible.
  12. Another winner. I hope I will be able to afford it.
  13. I would love to take a crack at doing a '70 interior, and modifying the body to 1970 specs. I have a 68, 69 and a 70 to work over. I have always liked these cars.
  14. I want at least three of them with one being built as a Cutlass Calais with the Landau Vinyl Roof and White wall Tires and another as a 442.
  15. You are getting pretty close with this one. I suggest that you make the rear window a little larger, the deck lid shorter, (about 1/4") and sharpen up the side sculpture. I would love to have one of these if it were offered in resin.
  16. That is looking great so far. Yesterday at our club meeting M.A.M.A., I ran into one of our members who happens to one a one-to-one Corvette in that color combination. I raved about this thread, and told him to check it out.
  17. I sold new Chevrolet Trucks when those were new, and I even had a 1981 K5 Blazer for a demonstrator, which was the most gas thirsty vehicle I had for a demo. It was gorgeous in that it was Black with the Gray Cloth Bucket Seat interior, and about every option that Chevrolet offered from the factory. One of my co-workers sold it for me after I bribed him. I want to build a model of it, and looking at that grille you have, I am going to get a couple for some projects. If you get a chance, take a look at Fireball Modelworks FMR 101 set with 15x8 4x4 Chevy Rally Wheels, with the 31,5 Goodrich All terrain TA tires. That is the set up that my friend's 84 K-5 Had on it. The largest ones that the factory would do.
  18. Beautiful!!!! That is the color combination I plan to do mine in.
  19. That one is very nice. I am doing a Red Alert too, but as it ran early in its career with the Spyders all the way around.
  20. I went to our club meeting today, and picked up the following: Mobius/Model King '65 Plymouth "California Flash" Revell 1969 Corvette Yenko Coupe Revell 1970 Ford Torino Sportsroof An AMT 1967 Falcon Body to restore.
  21. I agree that the Comet does look nice as a hardtop, but I would also remove the rest of the window frames. I have a '63 Pontiac Lemans 2 Door. I removed the B' Pillars on it to do a hardtop, only to find out later that Pontiac did not offer a hardtop, but Buick and Oldsmobile did. I may not put the Pillars back, as I think it looks better on that car.
  22. That cleaned up nice. Are you going to replace the "B" pillars? I have one in my collection to restore. I have yet to strip the paint off of it, but it does not look too bad. Yours looks great.
  23. I went to our model club meeting, and a friend picked up the Catalina Stock Car. I noticed your comments concerning the parking lamps, and I agree with you, but there are a few other foibles to attend to in the kit, but I will deal with them when I build one. I am in the planning stage for now. I have gathered the parts I need for the build, which I hope will commence next year.
