  1. While I have yet to build my Ventura, the Catalina Looks Very nice also, and I am glad that the grille is corrected with the Pontiac Script. I also picked up a Missing Link '61 Pontiac Catalina Post Sedan which I plan to do a Super Duty 2 door post sedan with.
  2. If I can get one cheap enough, I may go for it. I remember when they were new. This kit looks great form the pics, and I do have some other 1/12 builds on the shelf.
  3. I still have one of those from an earlier version in my stash, as the '57 Chevy is one of my "Top Five" . This kit is one of my favorites, but more than likely I will not be building or buying one, as I still have several others ahead of it. Nice kit though.
  4. I am not in agreement with your assessment of the two kits. The AMT kit does have problems with the side sculpture, but the Revell greenhouse is too short, and is curb side only. I have a " Red Alert" build under way, using the AMT kit.
  5. It was after seeing Rex' build that I want to pursue the build. If I cannot recreate the gas fillers and side Windows, I am not going to worry about it.
  6. I have been after a Mach I for several years, and have not been able to afford one. However, earlier this year I did get an Iron Horse Variant, which I hope to turn into a Mach1. I have a set of resin Appliance Apache wheels. Maybe I will just paint it red, assemble it, and call it a day.
  7. I can only figure that a lot of that money was for sentimental value. I saw a raggedy '63 Falcon Sprint Convertible last week, and thought how much would it be to bring it back to life? Same thing in models. I have an old Jo Han glue-bomb 62 Chrysler 300H Convertible, which has been cleaned up, and is ready for primer and paint. Counting the Modelhaus and pieces from the parts box. have at least $50 in it, without paint and detailing. If I did not see Steve Guthmiller's 300 from a year ago, I probably would not have bought it, as I have a derelict '62 Hardtop that I was going to turn into a convertible. Opportunity knocked, and I took the plunge.
  8. Nice work. My uncle had a white convertible with a red interior I may do. I always liked those cars.
  9. I am in complete agreement with you on this one Snake. I have one in my stash waiting to be painted and detailed. I have a 66 that I combined with a new tool 66 Fairlane that I have to finish, as well as a Mobieus 65. Good luck on that one.
  10. I never have seen one in resin, however the "XXX" version of the MPC '67 GTO has a flat hood. I cannot tell you if it will fit the Revell kit, but a flat hood would not be too difficult to do.
  11. I did not take any pictures, but I went down to my old stompin' grounds today. The traffic is a little dicey, so I did a little alley hunting, and I saw three interesting cars parked in yards behind some nice homes: 1) 1975-78 Mercury Grand Marquis 2 Door Hardtop. Black, with Black Landau Vinyl Roof. Crusty, sun fried, but restorable. Looks as it has not moved in at least 10 years. 2)1973 Plymouth Duster with the Gold Duster Package. Gold with Gold Canopy Vinyl Roof. Crusty, sun fried, but restorable. Looks as it has not moved in at least 15 years. 3) 1963 Ford Falcon Sprint Convertible. Red Car Left to the elements, as the top, and interior is toast. It would take a lot of loot to bring this one back to life, as it needs just about everything but the body, and that needs quite a bit of work and rust repair. If only I had the money, ability and time to bring one of these back. I did not go on to the private property to investigate these gems any further, as I did not want to get my hopes up too high. I have seen worse raw material brought back to life. At least I have a model of the '63 Falcon Convertible and a '73 Plymouth Duster in my collection that I can do.
  12. I have one of those in my collection, waiting to be built. I have an old glue-bomb, that had those scoops, that I thought were cool.
  13. I believe that those scoops were in the original AMT 1964 1/2 Mustang Kit.
  14. I like where you are going with this one, but 6-lug wheels?
  15. I love those cars. I like where you are going with that one.
  16. My 74 is the annual, not the snapper. It's moulded in white styrene. I took it apart and cleaned it up. I have to find an engine for it, but I still have a small block Mopar engine for it, so a rebuild would not be out of the question. I am thinking of Sherwood Green with a Black Vinyl Roof, White Stripes and Interior.
  17. That Toronado is very nice. I have a collection of unbuilt ones myself. If it were mine, if it were not pristine, I would dress it up like Jay Leno's car, but as a replica stock. I may do that to my '66.
  18. I took another look at my MPC annual after I bought a set of full wheel covers, as well as a set of steelies and dog dish caps from Missing Link Resin for the project. It is actually a '74 Barracuda with a flat hood, which is much too nice to cut up. However, it needs a heap of detailing to bring it up to date. However, I hope that we get a trans-kit in resin or a newly tooled '71 Cuda based on the 1/25 scale Revell '70 tool. I do not like the look of the Revell 1/24 Cuda, as it has some suspect proportions here and there.
  19. That looks great Paul!!!!!
  20. That is one nice Comet!
  21. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

  22. That is nice. You can put any kind of wheel on it, and it will be outstanding. I am leaning towards doing a sedan delivery, mildly rodded with a done up flattie and a nice rake.
  23. As much as I like the 40, I have yet to build one, and I have several variations of the car in kit form.
