  1. Yes I am working on a '64 Lincoln Sedan, and it was from an original annual 3 in 1 kit from back in the day. I also have an original '65 Sedan, which is unbuilt, and the building plans have been made for it, as well as every '60's Lincoln Continental kit, save the '68. which I sold off. Unfortunately, I am a member of Photobucket. Need I say more?
  2. I like that acquisition of the '64 Polara Convertible. I was able to get a few sets of Polar Lights '65 Coronet 500 Full wheel covers for my hardtop and convertible. My uncle's 64 Polara 500 Convertible had Baby moons and beauty rims on white stripe tires. I like the spinner wheel covers much better, and that is what I am going to use on mine. I wish you luck on finding a '64 Fury Convertible.
  3. Another winner. I hope I will be able to afford it.
  4. I would love to take a crack at doing a '70 interior, and modifying the body to 1970 specs. I have a 68, 69 and a 70 to work over. I have always liked these cars.
  5. I want at least three of them with one being built as a Cutlass Calais with the Landau Vinyl Roof and White wall Tires and another as a 442.
  6. You are getting pretty close with this one. I suggest that you make the rear window a little larger, the deck lid shorter, (about 1/4") and sharpen up the side sculpture. I would love to have one of these if it were offered in resin.
  7. That is looking great so far. Yesterday at our club meeting M.A.M.A., I ran into one of our members who happens to one a one-to-one Corvette in that color combination. I raved about this thread, and told him to check it out.
  8. I sold new Chevrolet Trucks when those were new, and I even had a 1981 K5 Blazer for a demonstrator, which was the most gas thirsty vehicle I had for a demo. It was gorgeous in that it was Black with the Gray Cloth Bucket Seat interior, and about every option that Chevrolet offered from the factory. One of my co-workers sold it for me after I bribed him. I want to build a model of it, and looking at that grille you have, I am going to get a couple for some projects. If you get a chance, take a look at Fireball Modelworks FMR 101 set with 15x8 4x4 Chevy Rally Wheels, with the 31,5 Goodrich All terrain TA tires. That is the set up that my friend's 84 K-5 Had on it. The largest ones that the factory would do.
  9. Beautiful!!!! That is the color combination I plan to do mine in.
  10. That one is very nice. I am doing a Red Alert too, but as it ran early in its career with the Spyders all the way around.
  11. I went to our club meeting today, and picked up the following: Mobius/Model King '65 Plymouth "California Flash" Revell 1969 Corvette Yenko Coupe Revell 1970 Ford Torino Sportsroof An AMT 1967 Falcon Body to restore.
  12. I agree that the Comet does look nice as a hardtop, but I would also remove the rest of the window frames. I have a '63 Pontiac Lemans 2 Door. I removed the B' Pillars on it to do a hardtop, only to find out later that Pontiac did not offer a hardtop, but Buick and Oldsmobile did. I may not put the Pillars back, as I think it looks better on that car.
  13. That cleaned up nice. Are you going to replace the "B" pillars? I have one in my collection to restore. I have yet to strip the paint off of it, but it does not look too bad. Yours looks great.
  14. I went to our model club meeting, and a friend picked up the Catalina Stock Car. I noticed your comments concerning the parking lamps, and I agree with you, but there are a few other foibles to attend to in the kit, but I will deal with them when I build one. I am in the planning stage for now. I have gathered the parts I need for the build, which I hope will commence next year.
  15. While I have yet to build my Ventura, the Catalina Looks Very nice also, and I am glad that the grille is corrected with the Pontiac Script. I also picked up a Missing Link '61 Pontiac Catalina Post Sedan which I plan to do a Super Duty 2 door post sedan with.
  16. If I can get one cheap enough, I may go for it. I remember when they were new. This kit looks great form the pics, and I do have some other 1/12 builds on the shelf.
  17. I still have one of those from an earlier version in my stash, as the '57 Chevy is one of my "Top Five" . This kit is one of my favorites, but more than likely I will not be building or buying one, as I still have several others ahead of it. Nice kit though.
  18. I am not in agreement with your assessment of the two kits. The AMT kit does have problems with the side sculpture, but the Revell greenhouse is too short, and is curb side only. I have a " Red Alert" build under way, using the AMT kit.
  19. It was after seeing Rex' build that I want to pursue the build. If I cannot recreate the gas fillers and side Windows, I am not going to worry about it.
  20. I have been after a Mach I for several years, and have not been able to afford one. However, earlier this year I did get an Iron Horse Variant, which I hope to turn into a Mach1. I have a set of resin Appliance Apache wheels. Maybe I will just paint it red, assemble it, and call it a day.
  21. I can only figure that a lot of that money was for sentimental value. I saw a raggedy '63 Falcon Sprint Convertible last week, and thought how much would it be to bring it back to life? Same thing in models. I have an old Jo Han glue-bomb 62 Chrysler 300H Convertible, which has been cleaned up, and is ready for primer and paint. Counting the Modelhaus and pieces from the parts box. have at least $50 in it, without paint and detailing. If I did not see Steve Guthmiller's 300 from a year ago, I probably would not have bought it, as I have a derelict '62 Hardtop that I was going to turn into a convertible. Opportunity knocked, and I took the plunge.
  22. Nice work. My uncle had a white convertible with a red interior I may do. I always liked those cars.
  23. I am in complete agreement with you on this one Snake. I have one in my stash waiting to be painted and detailed. I have a 66 that I combined with a new tool 66 Fairlane that I have to finish, as well as a Mobieus 65. Good luck on that one.
