  1. Monty, i''o with what you listed and Casey made some great points too. Ed Shaver
  2. Manny, please do as the overall piece really had an effect ...................... on me at least . Ed Shaver
  3. Art, first off , that Triumph is wayyyyyyyyyyy IMPRESSIVE! B) As far as waterborne paints , I tend to use the Polly- S acrylic line . If you need a flat finish, this is the way to go . Ed Shaver
  4. Manny, the diorama itself is fine . The problem I'm having is , did the flash unit bounce back ? The focus is a might shaky too. Otherwise, very commendable work ! Ed Shaver
  5. O K , here is a combination of scratch built and kit supplied : The tire beader and the bench itself is scratched The figures are kit supplied . the cigarette machine on the right was scratched as well as the oil cans and Dr. Pepper clock With the exception of the one figure of me , it's all scratch built The batteries came from kits , meanwhile I scratch built everything else Ed Shaver
  6. That Starship model was very kwell
  7. Rick, I haven't bought A M T's latest Repop, the Tall T . In the 1965 box, the one that is represented by the art on this issue , the interior had a "Biscuit Tuff Interior as opposed to the former "Roll- N-Pleat the 1960 or Chopped issue had reinstated . The Beer Keg gasoline tank was also a 1965 addition too. Also, the two windshield struts that attached at the front were also 1965 additions found on the chrome tree. Wheels as I recall were the Cragar wheels as in the 1960, they were Full Moon discs. Ed Shaver
  8. Rick, I did build this uh , model , back in 1966. The body while it looks right has GAP ISSUES ALL THROUGH IT!!!!!!!! The chassis went together pretty good , it was the body and the door alignment that infuriated me . I think had we had the adhesives we enjoy now and of course auto body fillers that stuck to what they were applied to, the story would have been different . I'm simply giving my experiences from years ago . Ed Shaver
  9. Chuck, in all seriousness, you sir are one of the most talented people here that I have ever met ........... Ed Shaver
  10. Road warrior fans , unite as we have someone who has saved the Planet! Ed Shaver
  11. Consider the "Bullying" going on here , it's no wonder David. I won't go into specific detail or names . I see a lot of "Egging onward and Immature antics . I see several people here are so on a secret "Protected list as well" . I'll continue to post something when I think I can FURTHER the hobby in a positive way or I actually have something to show . Ed Shaver
  12. I get lots of comments , both good and bad . I consider the source too as some folks just like running down another persons workmanship because it gives them a feeling of superiority. Yes, I have had people say a couple of my entries looked like Pre- assembled die- casts . I politely show them to the contrary . As to being a bother to me , naw , I got better things to worry about .Ed Shaver
  13. Thanks for the correction ! Ed Shaver
  14. Steve , if you want a totally "Vintage " hot rod , I would say yes . I know the price is a might steep. still, this kit has soooooooooo much potential as per doing so many of the "Aftermarket " bodies offered by outside contractors that flourished in the 1920's . Streching a Model T Frame and adding heftier tires isn't that hard . You should be able to source them from either a Monogram race car kit or from a resin caster . I know over the years , I have built several of these Model T's in various forms . Ed Shaver
  15. Rommel, a lot of the larger scale stuff is available through the Doll House suppliers . I would have a serious look as to what you can from there . Ed Shaver
  16. Manny, I think Barbo has been promoting the Up- coming I P M S Convention this June in Orlando. I am seriously thinking of attending as I have a brother who is an I T guy for Disney there ................. Ed Shaver
  17. Until the "millennium issue " came about , I had no idea A M T even did this contraption . Yes , it's definitely a piece of art if there ever was ..............
  18. Uh that would of course include yers truly too................ Ed Shaver
  19. Me, I build several kinds of models , both for myself and for others . Sure, ya'all see a lot of Replica stock out of me . I build service trucks , I build an occasional Muscle era car too. Meanwhile , I'm designing out my next secret weapon to wreak havoc on Virginia I P M S Rivet counters otherwise known as Airplane an Tank builders . Ed Shaver
  20. Worked a couple of these rides in the 60's . Finding parts for anything Fiat was, well, a trip through hell. I was glad they quit importing them . Now , they're back.................! Ed Shaver
  21. Dave , I'm not following you here . What are you picturing in the bottom photograph here ? I'm not at all familliar with the dragster . I vaguely remember the Dragula from the 1960's . It just didn't appeal to me . I did however get a Batmobile as I'm a huge fan of the old T V show . Ed Shaver

  25. This Saturday, February , 25th, Richmond International Raceway will have the Old Dominion open . hosted by I P M S . Yes , those dear old airplane fanatics want us to show up too ! Now , Donn Yost , painter extraordinaire has said he will be there , Rick Maslak, kit vendor has said he would sell kits, who else can I recruit to join me ?
