  1. I posted a link in the diecast section a week or two back. Yep I'm addicted to that and Vice Grip Garage on YouTube as well. Thinkng of dropping my Motor Trend TV subscription and paying the membership on Vice Grip Garage. He's putting out more videos than Roadkill is at this point. More informational. And the racing on 3Dbotmaker is the best. More entertaining than NASCAR.
  2. They used to be okayish. I have a 59 Cadillac in 1/43 and have owned some 1/18s in the past. Back then, maybe a little better than Ertls of the early 2000s. Looking at the site now, looks like some fairly nice pieces. Looks like they have upgraded to stay competitive. The Shelby GT500 looks pretty good and no dog leg door hinges like Round2 is still using on their recycled models. Nothing on there that I owned in the past and the models on their look pretty nice. Wayne Moyer used to rate them pretty highly when reviewed. Be sure to post photos if you get something...
  3. Thanks. Here's a couple more photos from last evening. The rear wheels came off. One broke the spindly pin so I'll have to fix that. I drilled the drum for a rod.
  4. Mine has some warp to the floor board which wants to make it 3 wheels down. I have lead weights in the engine block and gas tank. It's close now. One wheel still barely floats, but I think by the time I get the body weight on it and maybe more lead weight in the front fenders, it will either sit on all four or collapse under the lead weights. LOL. I was very carefull to assemble the frame rails on a FLAT surface and let them set up good, so I know it's not the frame. And I know the floor was twisted. Both suspensions are terribly fiddly to get straight. THe rear axle is its own nightmare. IF these weren't from a friend, I would never have picked them for my collection. Just not my thing. But my wife likes them kinda so we'll look at them a while and maybe send them down the road to someone else. Or if it doesn't all fit together at the end, I only have some building time invested. No big deal. Then it MIGHT become a Rat rod... where is that Allison engine parts pack anyway...??? Rust it out, put some pie crust slicks on the back, leave the fronts on a lowered suicide axle.... I'll stop now... LOL
  5. Nice! I've been tempted to redo the TWR race car lately. I built it years ago and my skills have improved. I really love that kit.
  6. I decided to give this one a try since I had it in the stash. Probably my last Heller. This and the Talbot Record and a Bugatti were from a friend. I'll probably never build the Bugatti-anyone wanna trade something? Anyway, it's getting toward finished. Here it is with the body barely held in place to get an idea of how it will look. Chassis is complete. May post a pic later. Testors Ice blue and a custom mix of Arctic blue and something else. It's what I used on my Hyundai Santa Fe build. The chassis is tricky. Be patient. I messed up the steering linkage by not paying enough attention, but it's in there. Not functional really though. And the wheels are CA'd in place to make the alignment work out. They both seem to tilt to the left as viewed from front without glue holding them upright. I was careful, but it's really hard to tell when you're gluing it together. More photos next time I'm down to the workbench. Btw, this would look great as aTROG car or (gasp!) rat rod maybe...I just don't have the heart to do it that way even though I might like it better.
  7. Those are supposed to be so very nice. And seem to be. Nice addition to your collection.
  8. Nice to see the line up. THanks.
  9. NIce! An idea, maybe. I blew the Chevy apart. Got the front bumper and taillight for the GMC. Saving on the GMC since it's a Limited Edition. Since it's apart and I have no huge interest, may just try to sell it as a parts lot. Maybe get my money back on it.
  10. Ouch! Lol
  11. Parts truck. To fix my GMC. If you guys need any parts, this one may get blown apart. Front axle is beyond repair I think. I need bumpers and spare. All else probably available if you need. Or it might become a hot rod? Ideas?
  12. I agree. Not quite right. You might get some monogram NASCAR T bird wheels from the original kits to work... if ya wanted to mess with it. Not sure I would.
  13. I've seen the five hole wheels but not quite like those. Nice piece.
  14. Do you want 1/18? The Danbury mint 1/24 diecast sells reasonably cheap on Ebay all the time. I had a case of those Ertls when they were released in the early 2000s and I owned a hobby shop. Horrible sellers in my place.
  15. Nice. I thought I might have to go that way with mine.
  16. They are just 1/64 die cast cars like hot wheels and such. They don't always stay on.
  17. Wow! Those look great
  18. Looking good. Can't wait to see the finished model.
  19. Be careful of the decals. Mine did not want to release with just water. Age, I assume.
  20. I thought about buying another to start fresh with, but they are around $90 on the bay before shipping. Can't justify that in any way. So this is where I ended up. I'd say that wasn't the most popular one they ever did?
  21. RACE DAY MOD to adjust airflow. Duh. LOL
