+2 on good looking. That was an idea I had if I had a couple extra Chevrolet scripts. But here's what I ended up with. I need to add some scrap plastic to top of wind wings.
-
Interesting - love the graphics. but what kind of Ford is that supposed to represent? I always loved the Geoffrion/Alderman PS Mopars. SO I went and googled them to see where they are - Scott Geoffrion died. Sad. Darrell Alderman is working in his family's construction business, but did make a comeback after his dustup with the law.

Yep, tailfins are sanded down. Roof repainted white, rear wheels painted and center caps removed. I did figure out how the wheels come off. There is a screw behind the face of the wheel. You have to figure out a way to pry the center out without damaging it. And reassembly is reverse - those tires are stiff.

Worked on mine this weekend. No pics yet. But it will be a little better/different soon.

Original 1/25 AMT Cobra - A Retrospective

Dang you guys have some nice stuff. -
I put it up because my building isn't heated and knew I would lose parts. Now I've lost the whole dang kit. 3 kits are Missing. Lol. 8 don't have that many kits. That's why its so crazy.
-
Cool build. I have one somewhere. It's missing right now. Put it up for the winter and can't find it now.
-
I started this one last fall. Put it up for the winter and. Now can't find it or the 65 Grand Prix. I'll be watching how yours goes. Inspiration.
-
Can't wait to see that comparo.
-
Yes and that's why the Greenlight is so appealing. I can't justify that kind of money for my collection in any way. lol. I think these just hit market yesterday. I watched some on ebay and already got an "offer" for 5% off.

Those are pretty good looking pieces. M2 makes some pretty nice stuff.

Wife just bought a 2020 Hyundai Santa FE and that kit was great! I got to build a car we own. Pretty close to it. Now I have a 2020 Hyundai Kona and wish I had a kit of it too. I had a 2007 Ford Edge. Found a 1/43 diecast James Bond tie in. THat's all. Before that a 2001 Olds aurora. Beofre that a Chrysler T&C minivan. There was the Lindberg Dodge version and they also did hte Sebring Convertible. There hasn't been a Late GM body other than Camaros and Vettes since what, the 1990 something Pontiac GP? Same with Ford. A few later trucks. I don't have a stash of OOP kits from the 60s to pull the custom shifter from to complete one of those spectacular feature builds. So yeah maybe the magazine was losing touch with any younger modelers. And I don't care for all the Asian kits although I've built a few and they are most always satisfying to build. Engine or not. So maybe the magazine has run it course. That would seem to make this one of the pre-eminent places to get a modeling fix, whether or not Gregg ever gets his magazine back on track. -
I found several articles on the net. All show the wires, L88 hood, 427. Seems like that is an article I looked at as well.
-
Just did a search -t he real ones were 427s with the wire wheel covers. I may be completely put off if they have rallys. Idk...

I know it's not a bad price. I gots a birthday coming in September. Kids will be asking what to get. Sent the wife a link to give to one of them or herself. I just renewed so I 'll get 6 exciting issues of Tanks & Planes Enthusiast. But seriously, I have bought 3 or 4 1/24s and 3 or 4 1/64s this month and new real car accesories ( vent visors, floor mats [the weathertech type but not brand] and some other doo dads) plus the car itself. I like sleeping indoors so I'll wait. Not like they should be gone. But yeah a batch from DMW is a good idea. THe paint is why I like it - the astronaut vettes. There was one of them in Apollo 13 movie. I think. That was the first time I became aware of it. I sold my DM 70? recently so I need a replacement and that will probably be a reasonable addition above eye level display. And I definitely need more GOLD models in the display. I think I only have one. My 69 SS396 kit may be gold as well. oh yeah, add that and a Tamiya Mustang GT4 to the list of cars this month. One of the display cars has the wire wheels- other has rallys. Yep, dahell? I noticed the wheels earlier and see the hoods are different as well. Preproduction samples I'm guessing? I'll keep looking for OOB photos of it. Greenlight does some weird stuff sometimes. My buddy todd had hte Smokey & Bandit T/A - I don't like it at all. Only other Greenlights I have are 1/64. Maybe I should get hte Astornaut car in 1/64. I don;t have many Vettes in 1/64. Just a thought...lol

I remember the Tom Daniels kits from my early years as a modeler. Kid across the street and I would plan what we'd buy so we each had different kits. Build and play. We didn't build if we couldn't play. And wee kept EVERYTHING. 66 galaxie with glue blobbed parts from a 50 something car? no problem. When they got too far out of hand - firecracker time. An "improved" version will be nice to see. Looking forward to it.

-
What if you combined the Tom Daniels Vette with this one? Just a thought...

But I can complain about it or feel that way. I don't have to LIKE the world. I can grieve or bemoan or celebrate the end of SA. I don't expect anything to change to suit me. Doesn't mean I have to like it. -
Sure. PM me if you find extras you want to part with.

What a perfect thought, even though it's cynical and sad. I feel the same way - the world just doesn't suit me. ? -

I like my print issue of SA. Liked it better years ago. I liked MCM, but... I love this forum. I like how it works and is formatted. The moderators let us go and they also listen. I probably see and learn more from here, but Tim Boyd. In SA. All in all, he is the best part of SA now. To me. With that said, there are several contributors here that were in SAE back in the day. Our own Gramps 46 had some excellent articles in SAE. So don't discount what we're getting for free here because it's free. There are others as well, Tom Geiger seems to be a heavy hitter in the industry and hobby. Dave Van, Cruz, George Bojaciuk, others I can't think of right now. I appreciate them sharing with us here. As well as everyone that takes a moment to post something. Let's do all we can to keep this forum going and not having to fold into some FB group. They don't work well for me. Well ok, FB doesn't work well for me. So long old friend. We'll miss you. Mostly.
