I think it will be fun to watch you guys battle it out. Lol

Nice one, Geno - haven't seen it before that I remember.

NICE BUILD! Just watched a video other day about the "Tabasco Fiasco". ON this video at 11:15, he talks about this one. he whole video is great though. Most of his NASCAR vids are.

I built this kit years ago. I wish I had a pic. I think I used the exact same wheels. Mine is a pearl red. Good luck with it.

There is a gray Wix cobra too. I remember it has different bumper arrangement. Not sure what else. I have both of the Wix. Compared to the Boris art thing, I chose the Wix easily. To me, that painted up thing was horrendous. I made good money reselling it though.

Scale Auto back issues - yikes!

Good idea to trade. I'd do that as well. -
LOL, you keep referencing Mt Airy. I will claim no knowledge of such should Mrs. Gramps call me... I do love this model though. I recommend it to anyone that asks about a 57 Chevy model.

Good luck - keep posting it.

Scale Auto back issues - yikes!

If you're looking, there are some on ebay. Not terribly high priced. Might be hard to find specific issues. Maybe worth selling? IDK. I"m not ready to get rid of them just yet. -
Interesting the differences in the two. Seems like mostly typical Greenlight detailing with the lack of opening features. Not like I open them up much after the first few plays. Will definitely need a blackwash on the wheels - hope it makes as big a difference as on the Mint car. I'll need that Astro Vette to replace the orange one that went to Stafford... Here's a link to the car this one is based on. https://www.motortrend.com/news/1969-chevrolet-astrovette-classic-drive/ Thanks for sharing

I"m wondering if I can sell off my old back issues or if I should just send to recycling. -
Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 934

Looks great! Wish I could justify doing the 1/12 again. Inspiring build. -
Oh yeah, for sure. Just want to figure out what all else will be done first. Seal it all in. Ok, that's a good idea for wheels. Might stick with that. Not sure if I want anything to match really. Like dude got the car and has been adding things as he acquired them. With the idea that it's a driver now and maybe someday it will all get painted up. That would be any of the shiny cars others have built... ??

AHA! This is kinda the look I'm going towards with mine. Finally did a search to see what others have done. HAve had the kit since it first came out and will use the channeled frame with my chopped 31 sedan body someday. Trying to use kit parts because fabbing parts is just not fun to me anymore. It's about quick gratification. Looking through the kit parts, it's just not clear why Revell chose some of the parts they did - -the rear suspension is just way too modern for me. Way too nice. Have to weather it up. And you're right - both versions are just awfully high. Glad I found this one - good inspiration.

So I had an idea to combine the channeled frame witih a Revell 31 Ford Sedan body I had chopped and was working on years and years ago. It wasn't working out - I have a thread elsewhere on it. So for the time being, I am going to use the 32 frame and make me a backyard project car. No shiny finishes Maybe even use the rust decals. Idk yet - still seeing where it goes. Part of my modeling these days is using paints I have on hand. This is some Krylon in a [to me] really ugly green. What's better with ugly green than burgundy interior? It will all have to be weathered of course. Engine may have been in a show car at one time, but is starting to lose its luster. IT will have the injected intake - saving the carbs for something else. I try to work on feasible back stories. Just wait till you see my barn find Morgan (due to failed stripping)... LOL Not sure what wheels or if I'll use the kit steelies. Then I have to figure out a color, but won't be red. Black? Bronze like engine? What would a backyard guy do with the other colors being used? I'm not sure why anyone would paint a car this color to start with, but that was before my owner. He just has this car and is building on it as he has funds. Kinda ratty without going all the way to that point. Here's what I have mocked up. Still working on painting all the parts as I decide. Been too hot to work more than a little at a time - building has no air so I get a little time in the evenings and weekend mornings. If I can get everything painted, I can assemble in house. Suggestions welcome.

Southern Motorsports Hobbies has several sets. http://stores.smhracing.com/search.php?search_query=junior&x=0&y=0

You can have all the chase cars I might ever find. IT just ruins the car with white tires, all red, etc. With my lack of luck and drive to beat the employee friends and employees, I may as well just order online and be done with it.

Original 1/25 AMT Cobra - A Retrospective
randyc replied to Gramps46's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Since watching Ford v Ferrari, I have read a couple books. One on Dan Gurney, now I'm reading about Phil Remington. I do wish that some of these one-offs were covered, but so far they haven't. And the books are actually collections of articles. Phil Remington was a bog part of Shelby history, so it would seem that he would have at least known of these things, if he didn't help construct them. I'm still loving all the stuff you guys are coming up with - keep it coming. -
As much as I like them, I can't ever find anything new and good locally, so I've given up on buying MB. I gave up on HW a while back - just not realistic enough. I did buy a few AutoWorlds and Greenlights a couple weeks ago, but they have to come from the net too. Glad they are still plugging away at new models.

Really liking this idea. Will keep watching to see where it goes from here. I get ideas like this and then can never find the parts I know I have to do it. I"m too disorganized after several moves and a divorce to find anything much when I want to. My own fault, no excuses. Good luck on this one.

It was going well... Sorry it's taken a bad turn.

Ahhh, ok. I forgot that one.
