  1. Looks great! Really like the colors that you used.
  2. Looking great! What did you do with the hood? Did you use the drag version hood from the kit as a starting point?
  3. Thanks guys. I will check out the milliput. It sounds as though you have experience with this. Do you have a suggestion for glue for something like this? I am just thinking about the tight bend at the top....I would think it needs to be pretty flexible.I have tried something similar with model master liquid cement, which was too brittle for bends. Thanks!
  4. I am struggling with my current build, a 1/16th scale Camaro Iroc. Those of you who are familiar with the kit know that it has seats that have the Firebird pattern, and not the Camaro. So I need to remove the seat inserts (done already) and somehow make and install the Camaro design. My end goal is this: Now for reference, below is the 1/8 scale Iroc interior I did. So, I took off work and I spent the last few weeks working in paintbrush, highlighting what needs to be changed in red as you see below: Any ideas on how to get that design in those areas? For the 1/16 car, I do have front seats with the pattern. I have already removed part of the pattern from the front seat to try to recreate the backs using resin. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working out. And this will need to be nearly perfect once complete. I have tried scribing the lines on stock styrene with no luck because of the sharp bend at the top of the back of the seat. Any ideas?
  5. Oh wow! I need to get to Ollies I guess. There are a couple there I would like to have. Anyone here from the southeast seen what they have?
  6. Lol. "American engineeering." I loved that movie.
  7. Here is the best I can since they are almost all sold now: There have been a few others throughout the years, but I either can`t find them or never took pictures of them. I remember building one in Silver/Black, Malboro Maroon/Black, and a dark blue color and Black.
  8. Thanks guys! Yeah, I am not sure what is up with the kit wipers. To my knowledge the are installed correctly, though they required some convincing, cutting, and some bending to fit, just like all the other ones Ive built,.
  9. So this is like number 13 or so I think. I lost track of how many I`ve built at this point.Pretty much my standard build. The wheels are my own cast design. Bob from Kustom Krome did an amazing job on them, The stripe had to be painted on. Let me know what you think. \
  10. Where is the Foose F100?
  11. Wow, I am so sorry to hear this. Praying for comfort and peace for his family and friends. I will miss him.
  12. I`ll second everything said here. I built one for someone a while back, and I will never build another. I actually recreated the coves in the sides (they are too straight and rectangular) and modified the shape of the lower portion of the rear quarter panels (too flat and "long"). Also, Im not sure if you tried fitting the doors in place, but there was no way I could leave them as-is without building them up around the edges to get realistic, not toy-like, door gaps. I ended up gluing the doors shut. Here is mine, but this is after *a lot* of work:
  13. This! I am not understanding why some of these aren`t being re-released. The Iroc was just re-released about 10 years ago (???) for a short run, and it is already bringing big $$ again. The Trans Am, especially the `79, has also been bringing big money for a long time. I was able to snag a damaged one about 12 years or so ago, and considered myself very lucky to have found one in any condition around $100. Back then, they were in the $200-$300 for decent ones. I can`t imagine what a sealed one in new condition would go for now. When they re-released the Iroc, I was thinking it was selling for $70 at the LSH? The new Mustang (1/12) went for $60 or so at Hobby Lobby if memory serves me. I don`t see why they can`t retail for closer to $100 if that means making it profitable to re-release. I mean, kids get Lego sets that are $200.
  14. Yes, paint looks very nice! Any chance we could get some outside pics?
  15. Lots of great subjects already posted that I agree with. I would only add these, which would *NEVER, EVER* happen: Firehawk - any year Camaro SS - LT1 or LS1 65-66 Shelby Mustang or GT350H - a new one, not the horrible Road and Track kit. Some that I think would actually sell: 70-72 Chevelle SS 63 Corvette (could start with the `67 as a base) 67-68 Camaro (could start with the `69) 70 Z/28 78 - 81 Z/28 - Yes, it`s time. These were the best selling years out of any year for the Camaro. The real cars are starting to go for multiple times what they were sold for when new. 78 - 81 Trans am. See above. Especially if parts to build the Year One car are included 67 Mustang - with "Eleanor" parts Someone correct me if I am wrong, but don`t all kits start out as 1/12 scale?
  16. So this is still due out in May? It`s been a while since I`ve been this excited about a new release, and I`m not even a pickup guy!
  17. Please let it be this one, or the "Trophy Series" black one. Though, I am sure it will be the silver one. I had the 1/25 version of the silver one, and it was awful!
  18. Thanks guys! I didn`t expect to see this one make it`s way back up to the first page after all these years.
  19. Thanks for the responses guys. I have seen some say that they prime their parts with a lacquer primer before sending them off to chrome. If that is the case, I would think that would cure any "pinhole" issues, no?
  20. Thanks High Octane. Do you happen to have any experience with them and resin parts? Thanks!
  21. I know this has been discussed to some detail before, but I getting requests and need to get a reliable process and vendor. Anyone been able to get this down and have reliable consistent results? Who are you using as a plating vendor for your resin parts. Same question for the kind of resin you are using.
  22. Here is my take on it: It went together pretty well. I made no major adjustments on it. To back date it to a `87, the front and rear bumper as well as the rear spoiler will need to be changed. If you need the older style wheels, you can get them from the `85 Trans Am kit. I have been planning to do an older formula, but never got around to it.
  23. Thanks everyone! Hope everyone else keeps posting their 2016 builds. I am loving those threads.
  24. Thanks everyone! Actually, I clear coat before the decals. If the decals look dull/flat, sometimes I will brush Future over top of them, and sometimes I will apply a liquid wax. I have had really bad experiences clear coating over decals.
