What would YOU like to see as a model
The Junkman replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Anything with Ferrari and Lusso (and Barchetta for that matter) in its name. -
What did you see on the road today?

Pish-posh: an "entry level" Ferrari. (It is gorgeous, though.) -
I was utterly convinced it was a real car, until I saw the hand behind it. Some people are assemblers, some people are artists.

And the Adam 12 series: 67 and 68 Plymouth Belvedere, 71 Plymouth Satellite, various years AMC Matadors, 70 Mercury Montego. And those are just the "hero" cars. Add Sgt Mac putting around in a Plymouth Belvedere station wagon.... Granted there's no market for these past the odd resin body, though I wouldn't mind hocking a body part for a 70-71 2 dr Montego/Cyclone. -
Ford Raptor to take on Baja
The Junkman replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am reminded of the chaos when the Raptor was new and video after video appeared of the "Baja Wannbe" types taking them out to ORV parks, jumping the stock unreinforced trucks off of moguls and promptly bending them in the middle. I'm assuming these are properly modified. -

And only offered a Mini Moke in exchange. ? -
A Pontiac that beat Ferrari?
The Junkman replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Really (REALLY!) dating myself but seeing the title I thought of the Car and Driver article comparing the Ferrari GTO and the Pontiac GTO. Yes, I am that many years old. -

I know next to nothing about the variations of Lambo Countach but I saw the near twin to this one cross in front of me at the beginning of a freeway on ramp (always see them when its too late to get a decent photo) in Windsor CA on Wednesday. What caught my eye was the slope nose and more protrusions (spoilers, lumps, vents) if possible. -

I'm not going to find fault in that opinion. Honestly, I'm at a loss as to what purpose it serves. There are better ways to move 5 people around and a lot of vehicles that people won't stare and point at. -

I'm probably late to the game but I finally saw one of the electric Hummers in the wild today. Just like this one-same color and ride height. Overall impression: big, like in really big. Great for compensating for what you may be lacking. -

OK, I went there. The Flat Earth site. I can't figure out if they are "The Onion" or "Duffleblog" taken to an extreme extent or they believe what they post. And I don't care to know more. -
Well, heck. Highland Green Metallic, then. That ought to work

Possibly you may be right, which might explain the reason they haven't been used in 40+ years. -

So you shared that issue with San Antonio PD (among others) for reversing the air cleaner. They got dinged by that other 3 letter agency-EPA. But "Gestapo"? Really? When you admitted to being out of bounds with the lights? Which likely resulted in a correction notice or possibly a citation if there were repeated violations of the same issue. Back on track, like Luc I'd just love any of the 69-72 Dodge Polara's but I think the market for those kits is dying out (literally) -

That was a "PVI lane"-Private Vehicle Inspection. They ended its use just before I came on the CHP in 1978. My eye notices that the officers are wearing coveralls rather than the regular uniform, even the one with the "bus driver" hat. The Mustang is getting a light inspection (including a brake light because the owner is likely pushing the brake pedal) and the third officer is checking to see if the Mustang is a stallion or a gelding ?. They would deploy to an area other than their own for 3-4 days at a time and the state would pick up the hotel bills/per diem. The old guys told many a story about shenanigans they got into off duty. -
The Most Dangerous Car You've Ever Owned

As a fellow 5.0 Mustang owner, I share your fear. As the Germans might say: "Der Teufel ist in meinem Fuß." (The Devil is in my foot.) -

I didn't own it but one of my car pool partners had an ancient pea soup green Toyota p/u (had to be early to mid '70s model as we were commuting in 1982). Somehow he managed to rust out the passenger's floor pan and covered the resulting hole with an ill-fitting piece of plywood. This was in California, not a land known for rust. "I'll let you know when I need to stop so you can deploy the Flintstone brakes" he said once. Ended up taking my car and made him chip in for gas. -

A 1963 Ford Galaxie station wagon in Chalfonte Blue (I think, it looked pretty much turquoise to me) and looked just like this one. Naturally, it was right next to a freeway on ramp and I was going the other way. -

Jelly filled ? And I'm still trying to duplicate their sugar cookies without success. I eat the rejects without guilt though. -

Now I see the card stock give away truck is going for the same price as the die cast. Nostalgia is expensive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194503237913?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28 -

This thread has been going on so long I can't recall if I've already contributed but: Both/either... And for those of a certain age and growing up in Southern Cal. In something more substantial than die-cut card stock: -
I've still got a slew of those Testors jars somewhere. Along with an even bigger slew of Humbrol tins from the mid '70s-pretty much all in military colors. Damn you, Squadron Shop.

"Matchless" bikes? I like the owner's solution to tail lamp/registration plate mounting.
