  1. Is there something wrong with the roof paint or is it reflecting something that's not in frame?
  2. Oh my gosh! Beer decals?!?!? It will lead to the corruption of youth! Is no one thinking of the children?
  3. I saw this car as I was getting on the freeway in Santa Rosa, CA. Unbelievable that it also is featured on bringatrailer.com. I wasn't quick enough to snap a photo. Having said that I like the color scheme but IMHO the chop takes all the balance away. It would need 2-3" removed from the beltline and maybe a bit of a lowering. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-buick-skylark-5/
  4. That would make sense. Those were the two that played the major parts in Ghost Rider.
  5. I wonder what was being done with his bikes. Check out his book "Ghost Rider". I basically commit some crime to have any of those cars in the driveway.
  6. A bit off topic: has anyone else had trouble with Imgur hotlinking to this forum? It used to without question and suddenly it identifies this site as a blog or website rather than a forum and so won't allow a link to be embedded. I linked the photos above via Flikr with no problem.
  7. In a desperate attempt to cool off (103-112 degrees the past couple of days at home) we took off to the Pacific Coast in Fort Bragg, CA yesterday (61-66 degrees). Came across an unexpected Father's Day weekend car show. Along with the usual assortments of Corvettes, Mustangs, and Camaros there were a few more that I found interesting. You never know what you'll come across in the hinterlands. 1969 440 Coronet convertible (sign said there were just over 400 made that year) Something right out of a cartoon (or rather Kar-Toons) 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione 2 red cars A late 80's Citroen CXA There were a few more but my cell phone lied to me when it said it had captured some photos. There was a black/dark red 2CV next to the CXA and an early '80s Nissan Skyline
  8. Internet Hobbies shows it pre-order at $80. ? OTOH, its full detail and not a semi-curbside. Revell is supposed to release the Fujimi 68/69 GT40 in the mid $50 price range. Ebay prices are wildly varied-one seller pushing a run-of-the-mill version for $500! I'm glad I've got a number in the stash already
  9. Hey, do as you wish. I don't know the son and only knew the dad from occasional neighborhood talk and preparing his taxes several years ago at a AARP Tax Program site.
  10. This is a neighborhood car that used to have a car cover and air in the tires. I think the owner has passed and his son isn't interested. This one (and the passenger) was in front of a Petsmart in Santa Rosa, CA (Yes, the hub of wine country.)
  11. Heck, look at what they’re trying to foist off as a “Mustang” now. It’s probably a perfectly fine EV but its not a Mustang as far as I’m concerned.
  12. Soap Box; again. OK, Round 2. You've got the rights to the Shelby 289 (actually 260) Cobra. The molds are circa 1963 and have been in near-constant release since then so they have to be getting worn! How about a proper, up to date 289 Cobra. You could make different versions all the way from a (fairly) sedate "secretary/girlfriend" version-that's the way they were marketed so don't get mad at me-with whitewalls and wire wheels to a firebreathing USRRC/FIA version with Weber carbs and Halibrand wheels. To say nothing of drag versions, cutback doors, hardtops, as many wheel options as you could think. Just do it, you know you want to.
  13. I finally checked some gift cards that I had on file at Amazon and found what I’d been sitting on was enough for a Tamiya Mustang GT4. That came today. Next stop-Indycals unless you guys have a better idea.
  14. The owner is obviously the quiet, introspective type. Just wants to slip through life unnoticed, unremembered.
  15. I wish they had used the ploy that they used for their Ferrari California kit-"European Sports Car". Visualize "American 2 Door Race Car".
  16. OK, I'll say it. The C8 is likely a fine machine, and given enough money (and a low enough price) I'd love one but....however the design is derivative and I've seen it before on other cars going back 20 years. Also that color-OMG THAT COLOR! I didn't think anything could repulse me that way but there it is. I guess the owner wants to be seen. If that's the case then "Mission Accomplished"
  17. So you're saying this may be a case of a UK driver pushing the bounds of legality? Hmmm, same here. ? Also fenders/mudflaps would be required on this rig in California. OTOH, you can go for YEARS without being cited. The cops appreciate the classic nature of the setup.
  18. I've seen a few of those metal restoration/fabrication videos on YouTube. Like when you take a rusty pipe wrench and turn it into a samurai sword. This one isn't a knife but it is a model.
  19. 15 year old me agrees with current me. You might notice a theme appearing here.
  20. I love that car but the name keeps throwing me back to my old Spanish teacher and his attempts to teach us idioms. "Entre la espada y la pared" translated "Between the sword and the wall" or the English equivalent "Between a rock and a hard place"
