We have been wanting an electric car since gas hit 4.50 a gallon. Yes, it went back down, but who knows when the oil prices will drive it up again. We have the solar panels. We are still paying them off, but our power expense is still cheaper than it was before. They will be paid off in a few years and then all we will see is the 6.00 power bill we have. That's running a pool pump and the AC. Not to mention that we are putting less pollution into the sky. When I finally have the time, I plan on making this long time project into an electric car as well. 1,500 lbs, 300 hp, amazing torque, still shifts, low CG. Gonna be fun. If I miss the sound of sequentially exploding fuel I can always rig up a sound system to the throttle and pipe it outside. Still a hot rod, simple mechanics, lots of fun, just a bit different. Finally got one of these for a decent price. This and the original Hard Hard Hauler complete my presidential series - to the best of my knowledge. I also got more Evercoat and CA glue 'cause mine dried up after so much time away from the bench. Hosted on Fotki

I never even saw the key. I guess the friend who owned the car had it. It looks pretty cool in the pic. It takes some getting used to not knowing that the car is actually running. You don't even have to shut it off. You can just step out of the car and it turns itself off.

That was fun! A whole new type of fast.

I'm sending strong thoughts to you, Harry. Hang tough. -
Tomorrow is the first day of a week long vacation and..... I got my modeling bench cleared of and I am actually working on stuff. First time in months!

Yesterday I picked up the Der Beetle Bus reissue to ease the pain of missing a built Smug Bug on E-bay for under $50.00 The Bus kit is pretty nice. Cool little display stand too.

For a while I was buying the reissue Attempt I when they were $4.00 at the clearance stores. The dragster chassis and slicks made it worth it. I still have about 4 or 5. Next is Groovy Graders - 5. Like the wide tires. The rare out of the cheap range now. Finally, I'll always pick up a Pontiac Banshee for the full tubular chassis and IRS suspension. They are still easy to find as cheap build-ups. Here is one with a bit of modification. Hosted on Fotki

Yep. Game time. - Machione or Carol? Pick one.

Yep. Lori was another. So you live in the Zombie apocalypse, Lori.... maybe you might want to keep an eye on you kid. Andrea was still worse too me. Wants to play with the big boys but did not have the smarts or the fortitude. Shot Daryl. Boo. After that the female characters got better. Have you ever checked out the Bad Lip Reading for walking dead? HILARIOUS.

Don't miss Andrea at all.

We sold about 500 CDs on Craigs list for 180.00. We felt glad to get it. The DVDs are next. Going all digital. Both my wife and I are close to the same about saving stuff. We save almost nothing... except my car model stuff and stuff the kids made. (That includes plastic packaging I think I might use.) My Grandfather was different. He was a merchant marine. When he died, they went upstairs and found it was packed to the gills with stuff. Many multiples including new tool sets. They had enough coins from all over the world to fill a cooler size water bottle. My brother sorted it and sold it. I think it brought a few thousand, but I am not sure.

Just started Dark Money. It's political.

I think Tyrese was the comic book err.. graphic novel version of Daryl. We have the first 4 books, and I have only read two of them. Daryl has not shown up yet. Tyrese is Rick right hand man. Speaking of right hands Rick is a little different in the graphic novel. There was a lot of teasing of that one in the premier.

I called Abraham after I saw the preview. Had a suspicion about Glen as a second. Pretty messy one too. Dang.

File this under what were we thinking.

Harry, Re: Video Games ...I have been working with the GTA generation. Many of them are very different than the kids of my day. Not in a positive way. Yes, there are worse things than a kidnap and torture model kit, but the subject matter should still be questioned. This was actually meant to be a humorous look back at a different time in our history. -

Hey Bill, No the model did not cause anyone to run out a buy a cage for a woman - that I know of. I still think investing an hour or more recreating the torture of a scantily clad woman would not really fly today. I'm not for the overly PC way some people take things but to me this was a bit much. I could see Dan Ackroyd pitching this one on SNL. As for internet porn- Just another wrong that does not make a right out of something else. What I've seen in middle school has pretty surprising. One teacher told me that High school sexual activity is down, but middle school is up. I could argue access to internet porn may have helped that trend. Back in my day.... : 0 Scott -
Classic Mad Men mentality. Link is for a kids aurora monster scene model that would NOT fly these days. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AURORA-Moebius-Dr-Deadly-the-Victim-FRANKENSTEIN-Professional-AIRBRUSH-model-/282215369532

I was getting up from my desk and a little fart came out. My 8th grade class did not hear it. Lucky me!

Micheal and Norm, Yep, they are good. If it weren't for those I would have eaten less for sure. The worst thing I ever had in Spain....A deep fried pig's ear. Looked good - horrible to eat. Scott

This qualifies as fast food. For many years I traveled annually to Segovia, Spain. It's a very old town (over 2000 years) that is also pretty small. Consequently, fast food was had on the patio outside a restaurant. This was one of my favorites. Sandwich mixto. Hosted on Fotki

So my son who lives in Spain is visiting. It is time to take him to the airport for his trip home. My wife somehow got the departure time as 7:15 when it was 6:20. No problem we planned to arrive at the airport almost 2 hours early. We get to the Iberia Airlines counter at 5:30. No one there. We go to other airline counters they all say the Iberia staff has gone to the gate. The information guy is completely useless. Turns out that the entire counter crew shut down the counter 1 hour before flight time and left. No one said they could call the gate. We ended up having to pay $120.00 to reschedule his ticket. It will not be pretty when we take my son back to the Iberia ticket counter today. At least I got to spend another day with my son.
